Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms, roles, and supporting and constraining factors of social capital in improving the income of business owners at Oebobo Traditional Market, Kupang City. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using survey methods, with data collected through direct observation and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving traders from the fish, meat, vegetable, and fruit sectors. The analysis focused on three dimensions of social capital: trust, social networks, and social norms. The findings reveal that the market is characterized by survival-oriented social capital, in which long-established trust and strong social solidarity facilitate business continuity. However, social capital remains limited in fostering strategic collaboration, institutional linkages, and market expansion. Rather than substantially increasing income, social capital primarily functions to stabilize cash flow, reduce transaction costs through trusted information exchange, and protect traders' reputations. Long-term trust with suppliers and efficient informal information networks emerged as the main enabling factors, while individualistic competition, weak relationships with government institutions, and the risk of unpaid debts arising from cultural reluctance to enforce payment obligations were identified as major constraints. These findings contribute to the social capital literature by demonstrating that, within traditional market settings, social capital is more effective in sustaining business resilience than in driving income growth or business expansion. They also highlight the need to strengthen institutional networks and collaborative market governance to enhance the economic benefits of social capital. Abstract

This study investigates the effect of perceived product risk on consumer trust in Pertamina's fuel products, with media exposure serving as a moderating variable. Conducted in the context of the 2025 corruption scandal and concerns over fuel quality discrepancies, the study adopts a quantitative approach using data collected from 103 urban consumers in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings demonstrate that perceived product risk exerts a significant negative effect on consumer trust, indicating that concerns regarding product quality and reliability substantially undermine public confidence. Media exposure significantly moderates this relationship, amplifying the influence of perceived risk on trust. The model explains a substantial proportion of the variance in consumer trust, highlighting the critical role of public information during periods of institutional crisis. These findings underscore the importance of integrating rigorous quality assurance with transparent and proactive communication strategies to restore consumer confidence. The study contributes to the literature on crisis management, consumer trust, and state-owned enterprises by demonstrating how media exposure shapes public responses to perceived product risk during organizational recovery. Abstract

This study investigates the influence of content marketing and online customer reviews on consumers’ purchase intention toward Hanasui beauty products among followers of the TikTok account @officialhanasui. Adopting a quantitative approach, data were collected from 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS 26. The findings reveal that both content marketing and online customer reviews have positive and significant effects on purchase intention, both individually and jointly. The model demonstrates strong explanatory power, indicating that these two variables account for a substantial proportion of the variation in consumers’ purchase intention. The results suggest that engaging content and credible customer reviews play complementary roles in strengthening consumer confidence and encouraging purchase decisions on social commerce platforms. This study contributes to the growing literature on social media marketing by highlighting the importance of integrating content-driven strategies with user-generated reviews to stimulate consumer purchase intention in the digital beauty market. Future research is encouraged to incorporate additional factors, such as influencer credibility, online customer ratings, and viral marketing, to provide a more comprehensive understanding of consumer behavior on TikTok. Abstract

This study examines the implementation of intellectual enhancement in personality development through a literacy corner program at the Class IIA Correctional Institution in Tangerang. The program is part of the broader correctional development system (SPPN), aiming to improve inmates’ literacy skills and support their personal growth. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The study is guided by literacy theory and the concept of correctional development (SPPN). The findings indicate that the literacy corner and library program are relatively effective in enhancing inmates’ intellectual capacity. Inmates actively use the library to gain knowledge, engage in positive activities during their free time, and improve their reading and comprehension skills. The program includes activities such as reading, writing book summaries, and participating in group discussions, which contribute to both cognitive and personal development. However, several challenges remain. Not all inmates participate actively in the program, the availability of reading materials is still limited in certain areas, and there is a lack of dedicated literacy mentors to guide and support inmates consistently. In conclusion, the literacy-based development program has a positive impact on inmates’ intellectual growth, but its effectiveness can be further enhanced by increasing participation, expanding library resources, and providing more structured mentoring support. Abstract

This study investigates the influence of word of mouth (WOM) and brand image on purchase decisions at PS Kosmetik Store in Sidenreng Rappang Regency. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using survey data collected from 351 consumers selected through purposive sampling based on the Slovin formula. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS 26 to examine both the individual and combined effects of the independent variables. The findings indicate that WOM and brand image each have a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions. Simultaneously, both variables significantly explain purchase decisions, accounting for 53.0% of the observed variance (R² = 0.530). The results suggest that positive customer recommendations and a strong brand image play complementary roles in shaping consumer purchasing behavior. This study highlights the importance of strengthening customer communication strategies and maintaining a favorable brand image to enhance consumer trust, encourage purchase decisions, and improve retail competitiveness. Abstract

This study investigates the influence of innovation capability and information technology on the business performance of culinary SMEs in Cianjur Regency. A quantitative approach with a descriptive-verificative design was employed, using data collected from 100 culinary SME owners selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were gathered through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that both innovation capability and information technology exert positive and significant effects on business performance, both individually and jointly. Among the two predictors, innovation capability demonstrates the strongest influence, highlighting its critical role in enhancing competitiveness and organizational performance. The results suggest that SMEs capable of continuously developing innovative products and processes while effectively leveraging information technology are better positioned to improve operational efficiency, respond to changing market demands, and achieve sustainable business growth. This study contributes to the literature on SME competitiveness by providing empirical evidence on the complementary roles of innovation and digital technology in strengthening business performance. The findings also offer practical implications for SME managers and policymakers seeking to foster sustainable enterprise development through innovation-driven and technology-enabled business strategies. Abstract

This study examines the influence of work ethic, work culture, and work-life balance on employee productivity at Trusmi Group. As employee productivity represents a critical determinant of organizational competitiveness, particularly in retail and creative industries characterized by dynamic operational environments, understanding the factors that enhance workforce performance is essential for sustainable business success. Employing a quantitative research approach with a causal research design, data were collected through structured questionnaires using a Likert scale from 109 employees selected through simple random sampling from a population of 150 employees. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques with IBM SPSS Statistics, supported by validity, reliability, and classical assumption testing. The findings reveal that work ethic, work culture, and work–life balance each exert a positive and significant influence on employee productivity. Employees demonstrating stronger work ethics, operating within a supportive organizational culture, and experiencing a healthier balance between professional and personal responsibilities tend to exhibit higher levels of productivity. Furthermore, the three variables collectively contribute substantially to explaining variations in employee productivity, highlighting their complementary role in enhancing workforce performance. These results underscore the importance of fostering a productive organizational environment through the promotion of strong work values, a positive workplace culture, and policies that support employees’ work–life balance. The study contributes to the human resource management literature by providing empirical evidence on the multidimensional factors that drive employee productivity within the retail and creative industry context. Abstract

This study examines the influence of financial literacy and user experience on e-wallet user loyalty, with user satisfaction serving as a mediating variable among Generation Z in Cirebon City. Adopting a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected from 120 active e-wallet users through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that financial literacy and user experience do not directly influence user loyalty. However, both variables have a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction, which in turn significantly enhances user loyalty. Furthermore, user satisfaction fully mediates the relationships between financial literacy and loyalty as well as between user experience and loyalty, indicating that loyalty is developed primarily through users’ satisfaction rather than through the direct effects of financial knowledge or service experience. These findings highlight the pivotal role of user satisfaction in strengthening customer retention in the digital payment ecosystem. The study contributes to the literature on digital financial services by extending understanding of the mechanisms underlying e-wallet loyalty among Generation Z and provides practical implications for service providers seeking to enhance long-term user engagement through improved customer experience and satisfaction. Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of green promotion, green products, and brand awareness on purchasing decisions for Le Minerale products in the Pasuruan region. A quantitative approach was employed using purposive sampling, involving 96 respondents who had previously purchased Le Minerale products. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results indicate that green promotion, green products, and brand awareness each have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Collectively, these variables explain 67.2% of the variance in purchasing decisions, highlighting the importance of environmentally oriented marketing strategies and strong brand recognition in influencing consumer behavior. The findings suggest that consumers are more likely to purchase Le Minerale products when they perceive the products as environmentally friendly and are familiar with the brand. This study contributes to the understanding of green marketing by demonstrating the combined role of environmental promotion, sustainable product attributes, and brand awareness in shaping purchasing decisions. Future research is recommended to include broader geographical coverage and additional variables to provide a more comprehensive understanding of consumer purchasing behavior. Abstract

This study examines the extent to which perceived organizational support shapes employee engagement within the hospitality sector, drawing on a case study conducted at La Oma Café & Hotel. A descriptive-causal quantitative research design was utilised to explore the nature of the association between organisational support and workforce engagement. Data collection involved all employees through a saturated sampling approach, employing structured questionnaires alongside semi-structured interviews, with the data subsequently subjected to simple linear regression analysis. The results demonstrate that perceived organizational support exerts a positive and statistically significant influence on employee engagement, suggesting that employees who hold stronger perceptions of organisational care, recognition, and backing are more disposed to exhibit elevated levels of dedication, commitment, and active involvement in their professional responsibilities. These outcomes affirm the strategic value of establishing a nurturing organisational climate as a mechanism for enhancing workforce engagement, particularly in hospitality enterprises where the quality of human capital bears directly on service excellence and overall organisational effectiveness. This study advances the fields of organisational behaviour and hospitality management by contributing empirical insights into the function of perceived organizational support in fostering employee engagement, while offering actionable guidance for practitioners and managers aiming to strengthen workforce commitment through the implementation of supportive human resource practices.
