Abstract

The problem in this study is the low ability of students' mathematical problemsolving in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectof applying the contextual teaching and learning approach to the mathematicalproblem solving abilities of Grade VIII students in odd semesters of SMP Negeri 34Bandar Lampung in the 2022/2023 academic year. This study used an experimentalmethod with the population in this study, namely all students of class VIII Odd SemesterSMP Negeri 34 Bandar Lampung, while two classes were taken as samples, namelyclass VIII B which used a contextual teaching and learning approach, and class VIII Awhich used a conventional approach. Samples were taken using the Cluster RandomSampling technique. To find out students' mathematical problem solving abilities, a testwas carried out in the form of an essay of five questions which had previously beentested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing in this study uses the t-hit formula.From the results of testing the hypothesis using the t-hit statistical formula, the valueof t hit = 2.60 is obtained. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5% it isknown that t daf = 1.67, then t hit > t daf , which means that the average mathematicalproblem solving ability of students using the contextual teaching and learningapproach is higher than the average mathematical problem solving ability of studentsusing the conventional.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low ability of students' mathematical communication in learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using android-based learning media on the mathematical communication abilities of Class VIII students in Odd Semesters of SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung in the Academic Year 2022/2023. This study used an experimental method with the population in this study, namely all students in class VIII Odd Semester SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung. The samples used in this study were two classes, namely class VIII-4 as the experimental class, and class VIII-3 as the control class. Samples were taken using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. To find out students' mathematical communication skills, a test was carried out in the form of an essay of five questions which had previously been tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing in this study uses the t_hit formula. From the results of testing the hypothesis using the t_hit statistical formula, the value of t_hit = 4.04 is obtained. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5% it is known that t_daf = 1.67, then t_hit>t_daf, which means that the average mathematical communication ability of students using Android-based learning media is higher than the average mathematical communication ability of students using conventional approaches.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research aims to determine the increase in the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts by implementing the discovery learning model. The population of this study were all Grade VIII students in the even semester of Tri Sukses Natar Middle School for the 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 94 students and distributed in four classes. The research sample was class IIC and VIIID students who were taken by purposive sampling with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research data was obtained through a concept understanding test in the form of an essay. Data analysis in this study used a t-test. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it is concluded that the implementation of the discovery learning model can improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

The ability to think creatively is an important ability to be provided to students starting from the elementary school level in the revolutionary era that demands creativity in all things, but this ability has not been fully mastered by elementary school students. This study aims to analyze the creative thinking skills of elementary school students through the application of the Picture and Picture active learning model in the fifth grade of SD Al Azhar 1 Bandar Lampung. The study used an experimental method with the research population of all fifth grade students of SD Al Azhar 1 Bandar Lampung and a sample of 2 classes. The sample was taken using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The ability to think creatively in mathematics is measured by a test in the form of an essay as many as 4 questions which are first tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing using t-test, obtained t-hitung = 6.92. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5%, it is known that t-daf = 1.99, which means that t-hit > t-daf is 6.92 > 1.99, so it can be concluded that the mathematical creative thinking ability of fifth graders at SD Al Azhar 1 Bandar Lampung can be influenced through the application of the Picture and Picture active learning model, this can be seen from the average mathematical creative thinking ability of students who apply the Picture and Picture learning model is not the same as the average mathematical creative thinking ability of students who use conventional learning models namely 80.11 and 52.61.

Abstract

The background to this research and development of student worksheet is mathematics teaching material for 8th class of Junior High School 33 Bandar Lampung which have not fully facilitated the ability to solve mathematical problem. In this study it was found that the teaching materials used did not fully support the problem-solving abilities of each learning material through scientific activities. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. The results of the LKPD validation for media experts obtained a value of 4.69, material validation obtained a value of 4.90 and language validation obtained a value of 4.24, all of which are "Valid" criteria. After using LKPD based on developed Problem Based Learning, learning completeness through tests of students on the ability to solve mathematical problems reached classical completeness of 84,4%. These results state that LKPD based on Problem Based Learning of 8th class of Junior High School is appropriate for use as teaching materials.

Abstract

Pemahaman suatu konsep dapat diamati melalui model mental. Informasi penting tentang struktur pemahaman siswa yang mendasari dari mana pengetahuan diperoleh dapat diidentifikasi melalui model mental. Model mental dapat menunjukkan cara bagaimana seorang individu berpikir. Individu memahami konsep matematika dengan membangun dan menggunakan struktur mental tertentu (atau konstruksi) yang dianggap dalam Teori APOS sebagai tahapan dalam pembelajaran konsep Matematika. Melaui teori APOS konsep Matematika dapat dipelajari. Teori ini adalah kerangka kerja yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana individu secara mental membangun pemahaman mereka tentang konsep Matematika. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan proses konstruksi model mental calon guru matematika dalam memahami konsep integral. Responden penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa calon Guru Matematika di Universitas Lampung yang berjumlah 23 orang. Berdasarkan hasil tes uraian awal yang diberikan, peneliti memilih 4 orang yang selanjutnya dijadikan subjek penelitian. Tes yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes pemahaman konsep untuk mengukur kemampuan pemahaman konsep berdasarkan indikator pemahaman konsep. Pada bagian indikator pemahaman konsep dalam penelitian ini, peneliti melakukan evaluasi proses konstruksinya model mental subjek berdasarkan teori konstruksi APOS. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa konstruksi suatu model mental yang dimiliki calon guru matematika dalam memahami konsep integral ada yang lengkap dan ada yang tidak. Hal ini ditunjukkan berdasarkan bagaimana calon guru dalam menuliskan jawaban terkait konsep-konsep yang dapat digunakan untuk dalam menyelesaikan suatu masalah yang disajikan. Selain itu, Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pengembangan kajian pedagogik matematika, khususnya dalam memahami proses berpikir calon guru matematika melalui pendekatan model mental dan teori APOS.
