Abstract

Exotropia sensory is unilateral divergence as a sequel to vision loss or long-standing poor vision. Characterized by large angles, comitant strabismic, increased gradually. Surgical characteristic treatment success are final deviation less than 10 prism diopters at distance in the primary position. Large deviation requires operating on three or four horizontal muscle and operating only for poor vision. This research aims to report the exotropia sensory patients and the result of surgical treatment for sensory exotropia by examiningthe outcomes of the surgical treatment. This is a prospective descriptive study conducted from January 2018 to December 2020 at Dr.M.Djamil hospital, Padang. A total of 12 patients included in this study. Detailed history regarding the complaint, developmental history was taken. Patients were thoroughly evaluated for visual acuity, through anterior segment evaluation using slit lamp, and fundus examination, and finding the deviation of the eye by doing hisberg test and prisma krimsky near and distance test. The result of surgical treatment evaluated by examine Hirsberg test and prisma krimsky test. A total of 12 patient were included, of whom   6 cases (50%) are man and woman 6 cases (50%), and the patients are 21-30 age year old about 33,33%.  From the etiology, retinal abnormalities are the most causes of the exotropia with 4 cases (33,33%). The patient are management by surgical and with monocular reses-resect hang back surgery. From 6-month follow up, the patient was satisfactory cosmetic result with orthotropia 85,71%. The patient exotropia sensory are 21-30 years old. The most common cause of sensory strabismus was retinal abnormalities, and the long-term outcome of surgery for sensory exotropia was satisfactory.

Abstract

Children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) have abnormalities in vital signs, one of which is an increase in pulse at rest. This increase in pulse rate is associated with an increase in the level of motor disability, which applies to children who cannot walk and is classified as level IV and V Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS). However, the function of the autonomic nervous system in children with CP has not been explored in depth and sufficiently. The autonomic nervous system functions to maintain homeostasis and regulates various automatic functions of the body, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and digestive. Standing frame exercise functions to manage Orthostatic Hypotension (OH) and improve the function of the cardiovascular system. This research aims to knowing the effect of standing frame exercise on pulse in children with CP. This type of research is Quasy Experimental using Two Pre-Test and Post-Test with Control Group Design. A sample of 12 respondents was divided equally into two groups of conventional treatments (massages) with standing frame exercise and the control group conventional therapy only. Frequency 3 times a week. The measurement instrument uses a pulse oxymeter. Paired Sample t-Test statistical test results in the treatment group obtained p-value 0.006 and 0.044 in the control group. The conclusion is there is an influence of standing frame exercise on the pulse in children with CP.

Abstract

Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic often used as bactericide by clinicians when treating patients due to its effectiveness in curing infections. Gentamicin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, effective in acting against a wire-range of gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas, Proteus dan Klebsiella), and is affordably priced. Moreover, there is evidently low tendency for bacteria to develop resistance to Gentamicin. The purpose of this study is to scientifically describe the effect of therapeutic dosage of gentamicin on renal function in white white rats (Rattus norvegicus). The subjects of this experiment were 24 healthy white rats, age 3-5 months and weigh 110-120 grams, which were organized into three different groups based on the dosage of gentamicin injected: control group, the treatment group 1 was given gentamicin at a dose of 4 mg / kg / day and 2 treatment groups were administreted by gentamicin 8 mg / kg / day in 7 days. The data found in this study were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis statistical test. This study showed that there was a significant effect of therapeutic dosage of gentamicin on renal function in white rats as shown by the p-value = 0.000 (<0.05). The average value of renal necrosis is highest in the treatment group 2 that is equal to 11.951% and the lowest renal necrosis in the control group that is equal to 0.581%.

Abstract

COVID-19 is an infectious disease so special treatment is needed especially in ODGJ patients with COVID-19. The study aims to explore the experience of nurses in treating ODGJ patients with COVID-19. This study aims to explore and get an overview of the experience of nurses in caring for ODGJ patients with COVID-19 at Sambang Lihum Hospital. The method used is qualitative phenomenology with purposive sampling sample selection, with a sample count of 5 participants. The results of the study found 5  main themes, namely the psychological response of nurses in caring for ODGJ patients with COVID-19, the physical response of nurses in using APD level 3, the process of nurse adaptation in caring for ODGJ patients with COVID-19, the behavior of ODGJ patients with COVID-19 when treatment and how to treat ODGJ patients with COVID-19.The results concluded that nurses can adapt in treating ODGJ patients with COVID-19 through coping mechanisms and efforts to maintain immunity. Spiritual strengthening is one of the copings that becomes a counterweight to the physical and psychological health of nurses so that the nurse's experience becomes adaptive. Research advice is to set work patterns so that nurses are not exhausted while working using APD level 3, providing training in using APD level 3 and support facilities and infrastructure to support occupational safety and health from nurses in providing safe services for ODGJ patients with COVID-19.

Abstract

Daruju leaves (Acanthus Ilicifolius L) is a type of plant that is widely grown and developed in Indonesia. Daruju leaves (Acanthus Ilicifolius L) found the presence of many secondary metabolite compounds. Secondary metabolite compounds are non polar, semipolar and polar so that to maximize the extraction of secondary metabolites, fractionation is carried out. The fractionation process in this study used n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol as solvent, while the test bacteria used were Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Antibacterial activity testing was carried out using the agar diffusion method. The antibacterial activity test showed that the ethyl aceat fraction of Daruju leaves (Acanthus Ilicifolius L) was able to inhibit the growth of Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. The activity test of the ethyl acetate fraction of Daruju leaves (Acanthus Ilicifolius L) on Propionibacterium acnes bacteria was obtained at a concentration of 20% with an average diameter of the inhibition zone of 20.99 mm where the inhibition zone category was included in the strong category, while the Stаphylococcus epidermidis bacteria were obtained in concentration of 15% with an average diameter of the inhibition zone of 20.21 mm where the inhibition zone category is included in the strong category.
