Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country with the majority of the people making rice which is then processed product of rice as a staple food. However, in the last few years, rice production in Indonesia has decreased. Rice production data with influencing factors, namely, rice harvest area, land area affected by plant pests (OPT), rainfall, the population in Indonesia have outliers and have residuals that are not normally distributed so that regression analysis with the least-squares method cannot be used to estimate the amount of rice production. A robust regression model with Method of Moments (MM) estimation is used to solve outlier problems and violations of normality assumptions. This study aims to determine the robust MM estimation regression model to estimate rice production in Indonesia and determine the factors that significantly influence. The robust regression model of MM estimation on rice production in Indonesia shows that the increase in the amount of harvested area , the land area is exposed to plant pests (OPT) and the population will increase the amount of rice production, while the rainfall will reduce the amount of rice production with a high level of confidence. The variable harvested land area and the population has a significant effect on the amount of rice production. Based on the results obtained, it is hoped that there will be policies that consider factors that influence rice production to increase the amount of rice production in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia has enormous potential to develop the tourism sector. The role of the tourism sector in Indonesia's economic development is increasingly important. The contribution has been made by the tourism sector through foreign exchange earnings, regional income, regional development, investment, and employment increment as well as business development across various areas in Indonesia. One of the government's targets in the tourism sector is to increase foreign tourist visits. Grouping or clustering the countries of origin of the tourists need to be done to help the government in determining strategies. This study uses the K-means clustering algorithm to classify the data on the country of origin of tourists and evaluate the clusters using silhouette score for determining the appropriate number of clusters. The result of the silhouette score shows that K = 2 has a value of 0.8, which is the best cluster that can be used to classify data on the country of origin of tourists. Based on the test results of the clusters, both of the clusters were then identified as cluster 1 for the category of low visitors with 206 members and cluster 2 for the category of high visitors with 6 members, namely Malaysia, Singapore, China, Other Asia, Timor Leste, and Australia. The results of the clustering process are expected to be input data for further performance, namely mapping the right marketing strategy for the countries visiting Indonesia so as to increase foreign tourist visits to Indonesia.

Abstract

The renewable energy mix achievement in 2019 was 10,2 GW still under the national target which is 13,9 GW, where PV Rooftop only contributed for 0,19% (19,57 MW). In order to accelerate the use of PV Rooftop, a Premium Tariff of PV Rooftop need to be implemented by PT. PLN. To set the Premium Tariff research needed to be conducted to obtain the total of Premium Tariff and its implementation. In the implementation, customers will have the PV Rooftop with installment payments, however the excess energy that produced by PV Rooftop stated in Kilowatt Hour (Kwh) does not count as a reduction in the electricity bills until the end of the contract duration. In this research used quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative method, a calculation conducted to obtain the Premium Tariff that can be offered to customers. Whereas the qualitative is conducted a survey to see the customer interest on PV Rooftop and the selection of the Premium Tariff offer. In the research results showed 77% customers of R2 (PLN Rate) in Jakarta are interested to use PV Rooftop however constrained by high initial investment. Therefore, installment payment scheme is offered with contract duration of 13 years for the capacity power 3.500 VA, 8 years for 5.500 VA with the Rates ranging from IDR 1.444/Kwh to IDR 3.232/Kwh. With the assumption that 77% customers of R2 Rate in Jakarta used Premium Tariff, it can increase the usage capacity of PV Rooftop by 220 - 800 MW.

Abstract

The Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic that has hit the world has now changed the order of human life, every activity uses masks, maintains distance, does not gather, and washes hands. The government does not allow face-to-face learning in the classroom, so learning is carried out online (online), teachers provide learning using several e-learning platforms that are available as long as they are supported by internet facilities. The use of these different platforms resulted in the learning process being less than optimal due to the lack of coordination between teachers, management, and students. Learning scheduling which is carried out individually is not coordinated, this makes it difficult for teachers and students to start learning and is verified/monitored by management to ensure the quality of learning. Students find it difficult to know and repeat the subject matter that has been implemented. This online learning process needs a media that can manage all learning activities starting from planning, implementation to evaluation that makes it easier for management, teachers, and students. The method in this writing is the method of literature from experts and some research results that are descriptive-analytical. LMS media is expected to be able to manage the learning process that begins with scheduling, subject matter and evaluation easily which can be accessed and studied by students online using the LMS. Management can control and monitor the learning process, and parents can also participate in monitoring, following, and directing learning.

Abstract

This feature article presents a new approach to the teaching of grammar in universities: A Meta-operational Grammar of English. Tackling one of the most important chapters of English grammar, the teaching of tenses, it aims to show (1) the importance of teaching grammar in context; (2) the importance of investing linguistic research in this pedagogical process; and most importantly, (3) the prerogative of understanding how a language works to master it. In other words, when students know how language works, they learn it easily and effectively, and they master the use of grammatical forms in context. It is the teaching pedagogy that is at stake here: a pedagogy that addresses students’ intelligence and cognitive capacities to motivate them and help them become autonomous learners and skilled communicators.
