Abstract

The purpose of this reserch to knew the increasing ability of the students in writing short story the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau by using experiential learning. The kind of this reserch was the class action reserch with two cycles; every cycle had planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data of this reserch was given from the ability of the students in writing short story and observation. The technique colleting the data in this reserch was from theability of the students in writing short story, observation, and documentation. The result of this reserch showed the rising students’ ability, the average cycle 1 was 75 good categories and the average cycle II was 85 very good categories. The conclusion of the reserch was model experiential learning could rise the students score in writing short story the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau.Kata Kunci: Writing, short story, and model experiential learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to know the difference between the ability to write anecdotal text between the use of caricature drawing media using the meme media of students of class X SMAN 1 Bengkulu City. Methode of studi is kausal comparative. The data of this research is the result of writing ability of anecdot text of students of class X IPA 1 and X IPA 2 SMAN 1 Kota Bengkulu. Data were collected through an anecdotal student writing capability test written on a validated worksheet by the validator. Steps of data analysis: stage 1) performing the scoring, phase 2) performing the test analysis of the press, and stage 3) perform the hypothesis test. From the analysis results obtained the ability to write anecdotal text using caricature drawing media students of class X SMAN 1 Bengkulu City categorized well. This is seen from the average student score is an average score of 83,91. The ability to write anecdotal text using the medium of meme image of grade X SMAN1 students of Bengkulu City is categorized well. This dilaht from the average student score is an average score of 82,34. After t-test, it is found that there is significant difference between experiment group 1 and experiment group 2, that is t count 0,71 and t table 1,669 which means that t count > t table with level of trust 0,05, hence H0 accepted meaning That there is a significant not difference in the ability to write anecdotal text between using caricature drawing media by using the medium of meme image of grade X of SMAN 1 Bengkulu.Keywords: Writing, anecdotal text, caricature, meme

Abstract

The first main assignment required in the first six weeks of Writing II class was designed on the expressivist approach. The article provides an actual class realization when the assignment was given to a group of forty English Study Programme students, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Bengkulu. Those six weeks were a mixture of hard work, complaint, excitement, and actual texts produced. An overview of the theoretical basis on which the assignment was built is provided followed by a quick account of how the class was conducted employing expressivist pedagogy. At the end of the sixth week, students were asked to write a one-page journal entry to reflect on and evaluate their writing experience. The article tries to analyze this journal entry to uncover what students learned from doing the assignment and how they evaluated their learning. Analysis reveals that students achieved first hand knowledge of the writing process and the requirements needed to develop readable effective texts.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini(1) menggambarkan nilai-nilai pendidikan dalam teks lagu Rejang kepahiang.(2).Mendeskripsikan konteks budaya Rejang kepahiang dalam Lagu Rejang kepahiang..Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis wacana dengan pendekatan makrostruktural.Data-data dikumpulkan dengan cara dokumentasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi: (1). mentranskripsi data. (2). membaca teks. (3). menentukan analisiss data. (4). memaknai teks. (5).menganalisis data.(6)membuat inferensi. (7).membuat  kesimpulan. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh gambaran(1).nilai-nilai pendidikan dalam teks lagu Rejang kepahiang berupa nilai moral seperti;keteladanan, kasih sayang,gotong-royong,optimis,hidup mandiri,bertanggungjawab,dan juga ada nilai budaya seperti menjunjung tinggi adat-istiadat yang berlaku,serta nilai religius yaitu bertakwa,berserah diri pada Tuhan,menepati janji.(2).Konteks budaya yang ada dalam teks lagu rejang Kepahiang adalah adanya budaya hidup mandiri, menepati janji,disiplin,gotong-royong dan cinta tanah air.s. Dalam budaya Rejang seseorang yang mampu hidup mandiri adalah orang yang sangatdihormati. Begitu juga seseorang yang sudah berjanji harus ditepati,bila dia mengingkari janji maka akan mencoreng nama baik dirinya dan keluarganya.Kata Kunci: Kajian, nilai pendidikan, teks lagu rejang

Abstract

This research aimed at finding out the semantic and social context of invective expressions in Bengkulu Malay Language. The data was taken from four families in Bengkulu Malay society by using observation, interview, and field notes techniques. The result shows that there are thirty invective expressions in Bengkulu Malay Language which are grouped into four categories: parts of body, intellectuality, disease, and behavior category. Contextually, invective expressions belong to negative semantic. Textually, those expressions belong to neutral semantic. It is due to the associations which encompass the expressions. Based on social context, there are some factors need to be considered in speech. They are: 1) kinship, superior-inferior, and social aloofness; 2) emotional state of the speaker; and 3) the scene in which the speech take place, including the place, time, and the act.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the rhetorical structure of the introduction section of Indonesian language research journal articles in the field technology and linguistic feature of the introduction of journal articles in Indonesian language studies in the field of technology, using the descriptive research method. This study used a speech in the document text discourse while this research is a source of research journal articles in the field of literature. Rhetorical structure analysis using MMP theory which consists of four moves and 18 steps, while the linguistic features was defined as the use of the type or manner of text associated with active and passive sentences, types of clauses, conjunctions / circuit. The results of the analysis of rhetorical structure articles journal research introduction in the field of literature, such as the use of the move and steps are found or used in the rhetorical structure of article journal research science technology with the result that most are move 1A to equalize background knowledge. While the use of the steps in the move in the field of technology the most widely used in article journal research in the field of humanities, among others: (1) step T1-LC which explains the brief history of the field of research 24%, (2) A second step introduces the research topic 26%, (3 ) step T3-LC states that the important topic of study 32%, (4) Step T4-LA explains the purpose of the study 34%. Furthermore, a new theory is also found in addition to the theory of MMP, among others: (1) step T3-LE stating the results of previous studies. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui minat baca siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Curup Timur Kabupaten Rejang Lebong. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif sederhana. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Curup Timur tahun Pelajaran 2015/2016. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Curup Timur sebanyak 69 orang, dengan sampel total (total sampling). Teknik pengambilan data mengunakan angket minat baca sebanyak 42 angket, dan data dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus rata-rata. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan bahwa minat baca siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Curup Timur Kabupaten Rejang Lebong berada pada kategori tidak senang atau rendah dalam membaca karena berada pada skala 2 dengan rentang skor 1,5 – 2,4 dan skor rata-rata 2,2.Kata Kunci: Minat, membaca, siswa, SMP

Abstract

Kegiatan pendampingan peningkatan karier guru-guru SMP melalui MGMP SMP di Kabupaten Seluma ini bertujuan untuk optimalisasi hasil forum ilmiah guru yang dilaksanakan guru secara teratur dan terstruktur. Evaluasi penyelenggaran kegiatan MGMP dalam beberapa tahun terakhir dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan tersebut kurang produktif dalam menghasilkan karya ilmiah. Kegiatan MGMP selama ini lebih sering digunakan sebagai wahana sosialisasi dan pemantapanprogram-program pendidikan baik dari pusat (kementerian), provinsi, maupun daerah (kab.kota). Memperhatikan hal tersebut, dipandang perlu untuk memberikan asistensi kepada para guru peserta MGMP agar lebih produktif menghasilkan karya ilmiah berupa laporan penelitian maupun artikel jurnal untuk ilmiah. Proses produksi karya ilmiah oleh guru akan berdampak ganda, pertama menyelesaikan problem-problem pembelajaran dalam kelas dan kedua menunjang kemajuan karier profesional guru. Karya ilmiah yang dirancang akan dihasilkan dari kegiatanpendampingan ini berupa: (a) proposal penelitian yang disusun oleh guru peserta MGMP; (b) laporan penelitian yang disusun oleh guru peserta MGMP; dan (c) artikel ilmiah yang layak muat dalam jurnal ilmiah dan/atau prosiding seminar. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yang diterapkan dalam pendampingan ini adalah: (a) kegiatan terpusat dalam bentuk lokakarya mingguan di salah satu sekolah dengan kegiatan merencanakan penelitian berbasis kelas, penulisan laporan, serta penulisan artikel ilmiah, dan (b) kegiatan kerja mandiri guru di sekolah masing-masing untuk mengimplementasikan rencana penelitian yang disusun saat lokakarya mingguan.Kata Kunci: pendampingan, karir guru, MGMP, Seluma

Abstract

The purpose of this study to describes about language politeness, violation of language politeness, language politeness strategy and the marker of language politeness of class VIII students’ at SMP Negeri 01 Bengkulu Utara. This research uses qualitative method. The sources of research data obtained based on the students’ conversation during the learning process, while the research data is recording students’ conversations in the classroom. Data analysis techniques through some stages; (1) Researchers make the recording during the learning process. Conversations recorded in the classroom, there is no limited to specific learning materials, but each learning process in the class room. (2) The researcher copy the recorded conversations into written form. (3) Transcribed data was grouped based on conversations between students-students and students-teachers. (4) The data analysis using the principles of politeness developed by Leech, namely maxim of wisdom, maxim of generosity, maxim of praise, maxim of consent, maxim of generosity and maxim of sympathy. (5) The research conclusions are based on data that has been processed or analyzed. Based on the results of the research (1) The fulfillment of SMPN 01 Bengkulu Utara's language companionship based on Leech's theory found six maxims of politeness in the learning process: maxim of wisdom, maxim of generosity, maxim of praise, maxim of humility, maxim of consent and maxim of sympathy. (2) Violations of students' language politeness are found in maxim of praise, while the other five maxims are not found in violation of politeness. (3) Positive language politeness strategy consists of: giving promise and giving approval. Negative politeness strategies consist of: Demonstrating pessimism, minimizing coercion, asking for forgiveness and impersonal use, and (4) The language modesty markers in the findings of this study are: linguistic markers of politeness and committers.Keywords:politeness, strategy, bookmark, student

Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe comprehensively the greetings variation in Bengkulu Malay Language. The problems include: a) greetings types, and b) the characteristics of variation levels in the usage. The method used was descriptive qualitative with naturalistic approach. The results show that based on the types, the use of greetings in Bengkulu Malay Language is divided into eleven types. They are: greeting as pronouns, proper name, kinship, designation, subject, possessive pronouns, demonstratives, alias, zero conditional, address, and expertise. While the characteristics of variation levels are divided into two: formal characteristics which are used to show respects, and informal characteristics which are used to show a close relationship.
