Abstract

An internship programme is a great way to connect what is learnt in class with actual work experience. Existing research has underscored the positive contribution of internship to the educational process and career outcomes among students. The internship programme for students of Faculty of Art, KNUST is a requirement or considered as a compulsory 15 credit hour course for the award of undergraduate degree. As such it is a vital component of the curriculum. Nonetheless, empirical literature on the dynamics of the internship programme at the university is sparse. Without insight into these dynamics however, there will be lack of information that could inform policy and continuous improvement of the programme. To bridge this gap, this paper seeks to analyze the internship experiences of students to determine what factors seem to create the greatest perceived value. The study employed the descriptive exploratory study design approach. Data was obtained from a total of 376 students of the Faculty of Art through the use of questionnaire designed in open and close ended patterns and focus discussions. The statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) computer package was used for data analysis, while descriptive statistical tools such as frequency and percentage were used to analyze the facts sought from the questionnaire. The students described a variety of skills learned during the internship including mastering the use of some equipment, software, and report writing. About 80% of the participants indicated that the internship programme was important and linked the classroom work to real work environment. All the students regardless of their experiences indicated they had value for the internship which they believe will play a role in their future career objectives. On the other hand, some of the students had some unfavourable experiences including inadequate work space, provision of inadequate PPEs, boring and difficult tasks. Others were engaged in other duties that were not related to their field of studies, all of which could potentially influence the perception of students.

This study uses a qualitative method through literature study by collecting sources that are literary and used as a reference in this research. The aim of this research is to find out and understand things related to slow learner children and the role of guidance and counseling teachers and parents in these children. Meanwhile, the results of this research can be a reference regarding the effectiveness of guidance and counseling teachers and parents who take part when there are students who have special needs of the slow learner variety.

Abstract

This research seeks to map out the expressions of the Banyumas Muslim community in responding to the dynamics of state problems in post-reformation with the Big Five theory (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neurotism). This research not only maps the potential involvement of Islamic civil society, but also contributes an important perspective as an effort to stabilize society and its various social groups. The method of collecting data was by distributing purposive questionnaires collecting 165 people. All of them consisted of various Islamic community organizations. The reliability used test-retest reliability, based on Friedman's theory with the lowest limitation of 0.90. The validity used direct validity, which is based on the development of the Big Five theory by Kathrin Ackermann, with moderate adjustments and concrete adaptations, thus it can be used operationally. The results of the study show that on the one hand, they have the character of extraversion (E) which has a more conservative attitude, encourages acceptance of hierarchy, and has more high trust in institutionalized matters. But on the other hand, they tend to be openness to experience (O) characters who have a critical attitude towards political, social values, norms and authority.

Abstract

E-commerce is an alternative for individuals to look for and purchase things. Unfortunately, despite its importance in digital market connectedness, e-commerce has not played a significant role in the continuity of the halal market. This study aims to look at the differences in halal product sales in Muslim majority and minority countries, which can stimulate the availability of halal products on e-commerce and increase halal product exports, as well as make it easier for Muslim communities to buy halal products. There was no previous research on a similar topic, notably one that specifically explored the sale of halal products through e-commerce. Halal-labeled product data was taken from Lazada e-commerce using web scraping (using the Selenium package in the Python programming language), which was then carried out by Kruskal-Wallis analysis. According to the findings, the average sales of halal products in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Malaysia varies significantly. However, in the pairwise or combination test comparing groups of countries, it was discovered that the average sales of halal products in Indonesia and Singapore were identical.

Abstract

Children with special needs are children who need special services to develop their potential in education, social services, guidance and counseling services, and various types of other special services. In reality, not many people understand or know children with special needs, so there is still much discrimination that occurs. This discrimination is not only from the community around them but also from their own families. This discrimination leads to a stressful situation, resulting in possible difficulties in participating in educational programs or other skills. Therefore, an important aspect that they need to adapt to difficult situations or stressful conditions is resilience. This research aims to describe and understand resilience in children with special needs. The method used in writing this article is the literature study method, where data is obtained by a series of activities related to library data collection methods, reading and recording, and processing research materials. The source of resilience formation itself comes from within and outside the individual internal factors that can affect children with special needs in bringing up resilience, which are emotion regulation, impulse control, optimism, causal analysis, empathy, self-efficacy, and reaching out. The implementation of counseling guidance services itself is almost the same as normal children in general according to their needs, which are described as follows: planning, implementation, and evaluation of guidance and counseling. Therefore, the important role of guidance and counseling services for children with special needs is needed.

Abstract

This article discusses Islamic jurisprudence in responding to the practice of interfaith marriages in Indonesia. The practice of interfaith marriages in Indonesia has occurred, despite rejection from various Islamic circles. According to Islamic law, in this case the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has prohibited the practice of marriage. This interfaith marriage cannot achieve the true goal of marriage. This research uses a normative approach using the Sadd Dzari'ah theory. Sadd Adzariah refers to actions that initially provide benefits, but end in losses. The conclusion of this research shows that the Sadd Dzari'ah concept in prohibiting interfaith marriages aims to prevent religious change and avoid potential conflicts within the family. Interfaith marriages can cause one of the Muslim partners to change their faith, so the clerics prohibit it to prevent negative impacts such as changing beliefs. In addition, restrictions on interfaith marriages aim to create peace in the family and prevent children who marry non-Muslims from following non-Muslim religions. This prohibition also aims to avoid divisions in the family.
