Abstract

This research analyze the effect of styrofoam cement coating as a protective layer on normal concrete in terms of physical quality and compressive strength when exposed to Natrium Sulfat acidic solution. Styrofoam-based cement coating is chosen due to water-resistant physical properties and its ability to reduce difficult-to-decompose waste. The method related to the effect of cement styrofoam coating as a liner with cylindrical concrete test objects measuring 15 cm in diameter and 30 cm in height and a quality of fc' 20 MPa, where its implementation is based on SNI 7656-2012. The cement coating used utilizes various mixture ratios of 0%, 40%, 50%, and 60% of the solvent weight in the form of Pertalite. The process of immersion in sodium sulfate acid solution, compressive strength testing, and permeability testing were conducted in the Laboratory, Universitas Tidar. The results indicate that the addition of styrofoam cement coating can reduce the corrosive impact of Natrium Sulfat acidic solution. The 60% styrofoam mixture variation showed the best results in three testing aspects: a post-curing compressive strength test value of 21.3621 MPa, a post-immersion in Natrium Sulfat acidic solution compressive strength test value of 20.7680 MPa, and a permeability test value of 7.03x10-9.

Abstract

Ability of all individuals and well-organized companies to produce goods or services is a broad definition of productivity. Following the field observation procedure, data analysis was carried out using time study and Productivity Ranking techniques. Research methodology helps in systematic data collection and application of facts to solve problems. For three weeks, observations were made on the beam and floor slab formwork work using a daily field observation form that had been made previously. Ensuring that the worker's actions are in accordance with the observation by providing a checklist and recording the observation findings in the form. Calculating the results of the observation presentation. The beam and floor slab formwork work is a type of visible work. Labor efficiency level with a total average of three weeks of all work utilities, or LUR value, is known to be 66.30% based on the analysis results. Since labor is considered to have achieved effective or satisfactory time if it exceeds the LUR value or worker utility factor above 50%, the labor efficiency level is functioning successfully or satisfactorily. For a 40 m2 beam formwork work, productivity measurements such as scaffolding installation activities require a worker coefficient of 0.0182 m2/OH worker per day.

Abstract

Eco-friendly materials are in the spotlight of the world because they have a very influential impact on the development and advancement of technology today. Construction made of eco-friendly materials doesn’t damage nature, is lighter and use recycled materials. Coral reefs are a type of waste that can used to increase the compressive strength of concrete. This study analyzes the effect of using coral reef waste fragments as fine aggregate substitution of 70%, 75%, and 80%. The comparison was made against normal concrete without coral reef waste fragments. Compressive strength results were obtained in normal concrete of 25.93 MPa at the age of 28 days, while in concrete variations of coral reef waste fragments as fine aggregate substitution at the age of 28 days with variation of 70% of 28.18 MPa, variation of 75% of 26.48 MPa, and variation of 80% of 26.65 MPa. These results show that the use of coral reef waste fragments as fine aggregate substitution of 70% is the optimal result, and the use of coral reef waste fragments more than that can reduce the compressive strength of concrete, due to the excessive chemical compounds contained in coral reef waste, it can reduce the resistance to concrete.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of U-turns on potential traffic accidents along Kaligangsa Highway, Tegal City, using the Traffic Conflict Technique (TCT) method. Although U-turns play a crucial role in road geometric planning, they often become critical points that may lead to accidents due to sudden vehicle maneuvers. The TCT method is applied to assess potential traffic conflicts based on vehicle speed, distance between vehicles, and road user interactions. Direct observations were conducted at several U-turn locations along the road. The analysis results indicate that the presence of U-turns significantly contributes to an increased risk of accidents, particularly during peak hours and at locations with suboptimal geometric design. Non-standard U-turn designs, unclear traffic signage, and undisciplined driver behavior further escalate the risk of traffic conflicts. Therefore, this study recommends improvements in U-turn design, enhanced traffic monitoring, and driver education to improve road safety..

Abstract

The Bank Indonesia Gresik project, especially in the Khazanah area, has high formwork requirements for the wall elements. Payment to subcontractors is made without down payment and using a 45-day term system after invoice and work progress. The purpose of this study is to compare the cost and time efficiency between conventional and semi-system formwork methods. The research method used is the comparative method, with cost and time analysis on 11,736.48 m² of wall work. Conventional formwork uses materials such as plywood and meranti wood, while the semi-system method uses hollow and phenolic frames. The results showed that the cost of the conventional method was IDR 2,438,396,000, while the semi-system method was only IDR 1,425,760,695. In terms of time, the conventional method takes 187 days, while the semi-system method only takes 131 days. The semi-system method provides time efficiency of 29.95% and cost efficiency of up to 41.53%. In conclusion, the semi-system formwork method is more efficient in terms of cost and time than the conventional method, so it is more feasible to apply to the wall formwork work of the Bank Indonesia Gresik Area Project.
