Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of the leadership of the head of the Islamic boarding school in improving the quality of Islamic education at the Mu'allimin Klego Islamic boarding school. The key to success in educational institutions cannot be separated from the figure of a leader who has a good management pattern. Effective leadership will build good performance in line with the established goals. The purpose of this observation is to describe the implementation of the leadership style of the head of the Mu'allimin Klego Islamic boarding school. This research method is descriptive qualitative to describe a phenomenon objectively according to the reality in the field, without any engineering. This research was conducted at the Mu'allimin Klego Islamic Boarding School, Boyolali. The data collection technique in this study went through several stages, namely observation, interviews, and document studies. Data analysis was carried out in three steps, including data reduction, data presentation, and the conclusion drawing stage. The results of this study show that the head of the Islamic boarding school's efforts to improve the quality of Islamic education within the Mu'allimin Islamic boarding school were successfully implemented using a transformational leadership system. With this transformational leadership, the head of the boarding school was able to realize a solid vision, encourage active participation, develop innovation, increase resource capacity, and create a harmonious environment. With transformational leadership, the head of the boarding school was able to generate clear aspirations and build strong communication with the administrators and was able to mobilize the team to actively participate in efforts to improve the quality of Islamic education.

Abstract

Kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan serta teknologi di abad ke-21 menuntut setiap orang memiliki keterampilan yang bisa diterapkan di tempat kerja di samping kemampuan akademis. Keteramplan ini disebut sebagai "6C", kompetensi abad ke-21 yang mencakup kolaborasi, berpikir kritis, komunikasi, budaya, kreativitas, serta konektivitas. Ada 36 siswa di kelas X Konsentrasi Keahlian Analisis Pengujian Laboratorium (APL) berpartisipasi dalam 2 siklus aplikasi kualitatif studi yang menggunakan model Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) McTaggart serta Kemmis. Tes, observasi, evaluasi produk, serta refleksi kelompok digunakan untuk menghimpun data, lalu dinilai secara statistik, deskriptif, serta kualitatif. Temuan studi memperlihatkan kenaikan yang signifikan pada keterampilan 6C dari kategori cukup (rata-rata 3,01) pada siklus I menjadi baik (rata-rata 3,38) pada siklus II, pada komponen berpikir kritis serta komunikasi memperlihatkan kenaikan paling besar yakni 0,52 poin. Ketuntasan belajar klasikal menggapai melampaui 95% dan kualitas produk berupa infografis naik dari segi kreativitas serta pemahaman konsep. Hasil penelitian ini melaporkan penerapan strategi pembelajaran rotasi stasiun efektif menaikkan keterampilan 6C dan membuat pembelajaran lebih aktif, kolaboratif, dan kontekstual di SMK.

Abstract

The management of educational facilities and infrastructure constitutes a critical component in enhancing the quality of the learning process in Vocational High Schools (SMKs), particularly those implementing the Regional Public Service Agency (Badan Layanan Umum Daerah/BLUD) financial management system. This study aims to examine the implementation of facilities and infrastructure management, identify the challenges encountered, and analyze the strategies employed to overcome these challenges in BLUD-based SMKs in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Sewon, SMK Negeri 2 Pengasih, and SMK Negeri 3 Wonosari. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using the interactive analysis model developed by Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that the management of facilities and infrastructure in BLUD-based SMKs has been implemented in a planned and systematic manner in accordance with the technical guidelines issued by the Department of Education, Youth, and Sports. The management process encompasses planning, procurement, inventory control, utilization, and asset disposal. The involvement of business and industry sectors in the planning stage plays a strategic role in ensuring the alignment of graduates’ competencies with labor market demands. However, several constraints were identified, including limitations on equipment specifications due to Domestic Component Level (Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri/TKDN) regulations, the suboptimal involvement of industry partners in certain areas of expertise, and relatively lengthy asset disposal procedures. These challenges are addressed by strengthening industry partnerships, selecting suppliers that comply with regulatory requirements, and optimizing the management of temporary storage facilities.

Abstract

The decline in student engagement and motivation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) remains a significant challenge, particularly in pesantren environments where traditional teaching methods are dominant and personal gadgets are strictly prohibited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Blooket gamification using a classical (single-screen) model as an innovative pedagogical strategy to increase students' enthusiasm for PAI learning at MA Al Wathoniyyah Semarang. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, data were collected through intensive participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation from PAI teachers and 10th-grade students, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that projecting Blooket onto a main screen successfully transformed classroom dynamics from passive to highly interactive. This approach fostered a unique "collaborative competition," where students spontaneously cooperated in teams to solve quiz challenges. Theoretically, this model fulfills the ARCS motivation components (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction) and the relatedness aspect of Self-Determination Theory (SDT). In conclusion, classical gamification is an effective and inclusive solution to overcome infrastructure limitations. Moving forward, this model presents a promising prospect for broader adoption in similar Islamic educational institutions to integrate digital learning without violating institutional regulations.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an appropriate e-learning module to support the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, determine the practicality of the PjBL e-learning module, and assess the effectiveness of the PjBL e-learning module in enhancing phase E students' learning independence and creativity on biodiversity material. The type of research conducted is research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. The research findings indicate that, based on assessments by material experts, media experts, and education experts who also act as linguists, the developed e-learning module is considered feasible for use. This assessment implies that the e-learning module contains valid biological content, adheres to pedagogical principles, and uses appropriate language. The findings also indicate that, based on practitioners' opinions and observations of learning implementation, the e-learning module is practical for use in teaching.The results of the descriptive analysis obtained an N-gain score of 0.6 on the learning independence variable, which indicates an increase in the moderate criteria, while the N-gain score on the creativity variable of 0.7 also indicates an increase in the moderate criteria. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test on learning independence and creativity showed a p-value ≤ 0.05 and H1 was accepted, which means there is a significant difference in learning independence and student creativity by using e-learning module. It can be concluded that the developed e-learning module is effective in improving learning independence and student creativity at SMAN 2 Yogyakarta, as evidenced by statistical data analysis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih terbatasnya kajian berbantuan korpus mengenai penggunaan diminutiv sufiks -chen dan -lein dalam teks sastra Jerman, khususnya dongeng karya Brüder Grimm. Penelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan frekuensi, konteks penggunaan, dan fungsi semantis-pragmatik diminutiv dalam korpus dongeng. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain analisis konten berbantuan korpus terhadap 200 dongeng digital yang dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak AntConc. Data berupa kata yang mengandung sufiks -chen dan -lein dianalisis berdasarkan frekuensi, kolokasi, distribusi konteks, dan makna konotatifnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 524 kemunculan sufiks -chen dan 112 kemunculan sufiks -lein. Sufiks -chen lebih dominan dan cenderung mengekspresikan nuansa afektif seperti keakraban, kelembutan, dan empati, sedangkan -lein lebih terbatas dan relatif netral secara emosional. Penggunaan diminutiv berperan dalam membangun karakterisasi, atmosfer naratif, simbolisme, dan kedekatan emosional antara pembaca dan tokoh. Simpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa diminutiv dalam dongeng tidak hanya berfungsi secara morfologis, tetapi juga sebagai perangkat stilistika dan pragmatik. Temuan ini berkontribusi pada kajian linguistik korpus dan stilistika sastra serta membuka peluang penelitian komparatif lintas genre dan bahasa.

Abstract

Students’ ability to write observation report texts (LHO) at the senior high school level still faces challenges, particularly in developing factual ideas and organizing text structure systematically. This article aims to examine the integration of the VERO strategy (Venn Diagram–Round Table) as an alternative in teaching observation report writing. This study employs a qualitative approach using a conceptual review method based on theoretical and empirical analysis from relevant literature sources. The findings indicate that the Round Table technique facilitates idea development through collaborative activities, while the use of Venn diagrams helps students organize ideas logically and systematically. The integration of these two strategies within VERO successfully addresses students' difficulties in both content and structure simultaneously, while fostering critical thinking skills through a blend of social and cognitive-visual dimensions. In addition, this strategy supports students’ active engagement through interaction and group collaboration. However, this strategy is more effective when applied to comparative texts and requires effective time management in its implementation. Therefore, the VERO strategy not only serves as an alternative instructional approach but also offers potential for further development and empirical validation in broader text-based writing contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to describe politeness strategies in students' refusal speech acts toward teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Wates through a sociopragmatic approach. The urgency of this study is based on the pronounced asymmetry in power relations between teachers and students in the school environment, which has the potential to trigger interpersonal conflicts when refusals occur. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative with a data corpus consisting of 25 authentic refusal utterances from students, obtained through note-taking techniques based on spontaneous observations in various school environments. Data were analyzed textually and contextually using Al-Sallal's classification of refusal strategies and Brown and Levinson's politeness theory. The results show that indirect refusal strategies heavily dominate students' communication with teachers, accounting for 96% or 24 utterances. These strategies are realized through providing reasons, self-deprecation, the use of adjuncts, and other forms of pragmatic mitigation. This study reveals a unique finding in the use of Javanese local linguistic markers such as pripun nggih, nyuwun sewu, and mboten usah, which function as crucial pragmatic mitigators to soften refusals. The novelty of this study confirms that pragmatic mitigation strategies influenced by Javanese cultural values, namely ewuh pakewuh, andhap asor, and ngajeni, are used by students to reduce face-threatening acts, maintain interpersonal harmony, and preserve respect toward teachers in everyday educational communication.
