Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of literacy skills in reading comprehension through the application of differentiated learning strategies for fifth-grade elementary school students in reading and learning habits in the classroom. The method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. In a case study in class 5 SDN Larangan 2, Cirebon City The academic year 2021-2022 face-to-face learning is limited. The results showed that the differentiated learning strategy was able to improve the literacy skills of 5th-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic requires immediate actions to break the spreading. This contextual problem needs to be discussed in science learning in schools so that the students can be the problem solvers. This study aims to determine the effect of PjBL STEM on students' scientific literacy and problem-solving on the topic of environmentally friendly technology. The Matching-Only Posttest-Only Control Group design was used in the experimental class (N = 23) and the control class (N = 20). Experimental class learning utilized digital media with students' final products in the form of hand sanitizers and digital science storytelling. The conclusion in PjBL STEM learning is that students' scientific literacy in the aspect of competence in identifying scientific issues (Sig.=0,25 ˃ α = 0,05) and explaining scientific phenomena (Sig.= 0,13 ˃ α = 0,05), both the experimental class and the control class are not significantly different. Meanwhile, for the aspect of competence using scientific evidence (Sig. = 0,01 < α = 0,05), there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. There is a significant (Sig. = 0,01 < α = 0,05) difference in the achievement of the average problem-solving scores of students in the experimental class and the control class.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in students' teaching and learning achievement in learning mathematics after the use of educational walls outside the school which was specially prepared for learning mathematics was activated. The paper is best practice report. Data obtained through questionnaires and interview guidelines. Data on the aspects of success were obtained from the responses of 30 students and 3 teachers in grades 4,5, and 6. The increase in student creativity was measured from the data on the success of student learning outcomes before and after the effort to use the outer walls of the school specifically about flat shapes and building spaces. The results, t was concluded that the the use of the outer wall of the school could increase the achievement of learning mathematics in flat-building materials and the habituation of numeracy literacy for both teachers and students at SD Negeri 7 Rejang Lebong. Educational walls that are created along the way students walk also make it easier for students to learn. Indirectly during breaks and sitting in the school environment, students are used to reading educational walls.

Abstract

Background The problem raised in the research is the low competence of teachers in using the zoom meeting application for distance learning in implementing learning policies during the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, one of the teacher's tasks is to carry out creative and innovative learning in order to achieve maximum learning objectives under any conditions. The purpose of this study was to improve the competence of teachers using the zoom meeting application in distance learning through IHT at SDN 1 Tanjung Kec. Kawalu City of Tasikmalaya for the academic year 2021/2022. The research method used is experimental research with Pre Experimental Design type The One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The results showed that the pretest of teacher competence reached 50% from the previous results of initial observations, only 30% were categorized as competent. Meanwhile, when the posttest reached 70% of the competent teachers, the indicators for the success of the research were 70% of all teachers. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that competence in using the zoom meeting application for distance learning at SDN 1 Tanjung Kec. Kawalu City of Tasikmalaya can be improved through In House Training (IHT).

Abstract

Study aims to utilize Google Docs media to improve learning, students' creativity, as well as improve students’ literacy skills. By using this application, besides being easy to use, it is also expected to be able to ignite the creativity of students in working on worksheets together. This research is also to find out efforts to improve students' digital literacy skills in the subjects of Religious Education and Character Education at the Junior High School level. The benefits of this research are to improve the digital literacy skills of students. The research method used is naturalistic qualitative method to examine the factual conditions and needs of students for the development of learning designs. The research includes program design, implementation, efforts to overcome obstacles that occur in the field, and evaluation. The research instrument used observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation techniques. This research was conducted at Junior High School 1 Sarang with the research subjects being 32 students of class 8E. Technically, the implementation procedure includes the following steps: (1) Preparing worksheets; (2) Division of tasks for students; (3) Looking for answers by using literacy resources; (4) Write down the results of the search for answers; (5) Editing the answer results into a complete reading; (6) Evaluation. From the results of the study, it was found that students were motivated to use media in learning, and the enthusiasm for learning began to grow.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of the sale and purchase disclosure media to be developed, to test the feasibility of the buying and selling disclosure media, and to test the effectiveness of the use of buying and selling disclosure media on the results of students' numeracy literacy skills. This type of research is Research and development (R & D). The product of development in this research is the media of buying and selling information, namely the development of buying and selling statements to train numeracy literacy skills. The research design using the ADDIE approach was developed by Dick and Carry. To design a learning system with 5 development phases including: Analysis, Design, Development or Production, Implementation or Delivery and Evaluations with qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The development of buying and selling information media was carried out at SLBN Seduri Mojokerto in August-September in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The data sources for this research were 4th grade deaf students. The results of expert validation in this development research obtained a validity percentage of 82, 3, the development of the media for selling and selling, the student response value was obtained at 78, the results of the analysis obtained good results. So it can be concluded that the results of the media disclosure of buying and selling are effectively used.

Abstract

This study aims to describe increasing scientific literacy through the 'Harta Karun' educational game based on problem-based learning. The method is classroom action research (CAR). The subjects were students of class VI A SD Negeri 1 Pandansurat totaling 21 students. The results showed there was an increase in learning outcomes of science content from pre-cycle to cycle I by 38%. Then, from cycle I to cycle II by 43%. The increase in students' scientific literacy was also seen from the analysis of the questionnaire which was compiled based on competencies according to the OECD which had increased from pre-cycle to cycle II. These are: (1) explain the phenomenon scientifically; (2) competence in designing and evaluating scientific investigations; (3) interpreting data and evidence scientifically. It can be concluded that the application of the problem-based learning-based educational game 'Harta Karun' can improve the scientific literacy of grade VI elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the effectiveness of using worksheet interactive (e-LKPD) in honing students' creative writing skills (fantasy stories) in online learning. The research method used is descriptive method, which describes the results of learning to write fantasy stories and student responses in using interactive e-LKPD by online learning. Data Sources of the study is students of class VII.1 UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare. The data are the divided into two parts, namely the results of writing fantasy stories with interactive e-LKPD and student response using interactive e-LKPDs in writing fantasy stories obtained from online questionnaires. The results of data analysis showed that the students' skills in writing fantasy stories showed an average score of 85.35 which was included in the good category. Students agree, even strongly agree that the use of interactive e-LKPD is effective in writing fantasy stories. In addition, students said that the interactive e-LKPD was suitable for use in online and face-to-face learning.

Abstract

The implementation of learning in junior high school has been using a teacher-centered approach and a non-variative learning model. Students were actively involved in seeking knowledge on their own and still get information from the teacher, so they are less creative. This study was aimed at determining the improvement in students’ scientific literacy in biology by using guided inquiry models. This research used a qualitative approach with the form of classroom action research. The data sources were 20 students of class 9 B in SMPN 2 Ujan Mas, at the 2020/2021 academic year. Data were collected through tests, observations, interviews, and field notes. The result showed the application of learning using a guided inquiry model can improve students’ scientific literacy in the chapter of the plant development system. The result of the last test in the first cycle was 45% and increase on the second cycle to 85%. The activity of teacher and students on the learning process was a good category and the student was actively involved in the learning process. The conclusion is the guided inquiry models could improve students’ scientific literacy on the subject of biology.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve students' literacy skills through the application of game-based learning models assisted by cluster board game media (invertebrate classification cards). This research was conducted in 2 cycles, and each cycle consisted of stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study used qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained through observing the process/activity of students' literacy during learning using a game-based learning model assisted by Cluster board game media. Quantitative data was obtained through a student's literacy ability test, namely the student's ability to solve problems involving higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The results showed that there was an increase in literacy processes/activities and literacy skills involving students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS questions) in learning invertebrate classification materials.
