Abstract

One of the challenges in enhancing the productivity of FISIP UNISRI lecturers is the suboptimal utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support their work, along with inefficient implementation of AI. This service has dual objectives: introducing AI to those unfamiliar with it and providing education on crafting effective prompts to ensure AI-generated responses meet expectations. To achieve these goals, the method involves delivering focused material on AI introduction and prompt creation effectiveness. Results from this program indicate that all 8 lecturers who had not used AI before are now proficient and frequently utilize AI (100%). Additionally, among the 10 lecturers with prior AI experience, 8 individuals (80%) reported the training's benefits in enhancing prompt creation effectiveness, leading to more elaborate and expectation-aligned AI outputs.

Abstract

Purworejo is among the districts with the highest malaria cases in Central Java, reaching 517 cases in 2021 and 544 cases in 2022. Kaligesing District, in particular, recorded the highest number of malaria cases in Purworejo Regency in 2022, with an API of 5.5 per 1000 population. The high incidence of malaria is influenced by various risk factors, including limited public understanding of malaria and community-based surveillance. Additionally, the less-than-optimal control of malaria vectors in the community contributes to this issue. The objective of this service is to reduce malaria cases in Kaligesing District by enhancing the understanding of Village Malaria Cadres and Interpreters (JMD) regarding malaria surveillance and vector control. The method involves providing surveillance assistance and conducting malaria vector control training for cadres and JMD. Results from this program indicate a significant improvement in participants' general knowledge. The paired samples t-test revealed an average score of 58.2% before training and 79.6% after training, with a p-value 0.0001. This demonstrates a substantial difference in participants' knowledge before and after training. Consequently, this activity is deemed successful in enhancing the knowledge of cadres and JMD regarding malaria surveillance and vector control.

Abstract

Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a structural disorder of the vertebrae characterized by vertebral curvature exceeding 10°, commonly identified in children aged 10-18 years. Several contributing factors for AIS include genetic factors, abnormalities in connective tissue and skeletal muscles, biomechanical factors, and the use of school bags with associated weight. The primary issue identified from the preliminary study is the relatively high AIS rate, reaching 10.2%, with no previous preventive education programs implemented for students. The targeted participants for this program are students from Muhammadiyah Middle School 5 and Muhammadiyah Middle School 7 in Surakarta. The team conducted AIS prevention health education sessions in April-May 2023 for students aged 12-15 years. The educational activities involved the use of informative materials such as pocket books and videos, covering topics like the definition of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis, physical examination methods for AIS, and preventive measures through posture correction exercises and the proper use of school bags. Results from the influence test, employing the Paired Sample T-Test, indicate a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.023. This implies a significant difference in the average knowledge level before and after receiving education on AIS prevention.

Abstract

The Community-Based Drinking Water and Sanitation Provision Program (PAMSIMAS) serves as a community-driven platform for rural drinking water and sanitation development. In the Banjar Regency area, PAMSIMAS management faces challenges, including a limited number of available water reservoirs and a slow water-filling process into these reservoirs. Additionally, there is a shortage of qualified human resources for community training. To address these issues, activities were conducted to enhance community skills in maintaining PASMIMAS equipment. Collaboration took place with work units in the Banjar Regency government, involving 30 village officials in the West Martapura District. The method employed included lectures and question-and-answer sessions. The analysis utilized to evaluate the training's success involved pre-test and post-test assessments. The results indicated an increase in participants' knowledge, with a pre-test average of 40.66 and a post-test average of 70.50, yielding a p-value of > 0.00 (paired t-test). In conclusion, this training effectively enhanced PAMSIMAS knowledge among village officials.
