The IE matrix shows IFE on the X axis of 3.52 and a total EFE weight score on the Y axis of 3.38, this shows the development of farming in Grow and Build conditions. Based on the SWOT analysis, strategies can be applied: the S-O (Strength-Opportunity) strategy optimizes natural conditions suitable for growing conditions, optimizes support from government agencies, maintains and improves product quality based on farmer experience. The W-O (Weakness-Opportunity) strategy allocates resources to adopt relevant technologies, increase farmer skills and knowledge, establish partnerships, focus on market segmentation including export potential, optimize business scale. The S-T (Strength-Threaths) strategy optimizes the use of supportive natural conditions based on farmer experience, takes advantage of market potential, maintains product quality and is consistent so that it is able to determine prices. The W-T (Weakness-Threaths) strategy simplifies operations, implements management, collaborates on product research and development, improves supply chain management systems, considers appropriate technology to improve product efficiency and consistency, expands market share. The development of kumbili farming provides benefits: increasing income, diversifying farming, opening up opportunities to improve the economy, creating jobs, facilitating the community to achieve food self-sufficiency reducing dependence on imported food and family expenses to buy household food.

Abstract

Indonesia has abundant natural resource potential, one of which is local non-rice food that can be processed by agro-industry and used by the community as an effort to diversify food. Instant tiwul is a processed product from cassava which is known to be used as an alternative food source of carbohydrates. Trenggalek Regency is the center of cassava production and the people have the habit of consuming instant tiwul. The price of instant tiwul is currently experiencing a more expensive price increase than rice because the raw materials are limited due to pest attacks and plant function change. This condition can affect product buying behavior, along with its role as an alternative food and increasingly selective consumers. His study was conducted to determine the process of instant tiwul purchase decisions, and factors that influence instant tiwul purchase decisions by end consumers in Trenggalek Regency. The research method used is descriptive analytical with data analysis methods in the form of descriptive analysis, and factor analysis. The results showed that the purchase decision process went through 5 (five) stages, namely need recognition, information search, alternative evaluation, purchase decision, and post-purchase evaluation. Five factors that influence the decision to purchase instant tiwul in Trenggalek Regency are first social factors in the form of variables of the influence of the surrounding environment and the influence of sellers, the second family factor includes variables of the number of family members and family income, the third personal factor is the variable of buyer age and occupation, the fourth is attractiveness in the form of packaging variables, ease of obtaining, and satiety endurance,  and the five price and color factors include variable rice prices, instant tiwul prices, and colors.

Abstract

The majority of the people of Labuhan Ratu VI Village are engaged in rubber farming to meet their household needs. If there is a decrease in prices and a decrease in rubber production, it will affect income, income distribution and the level of household (HH) welfare, because the income received by each farmer varies. This allows the emergence of income inequality which is the beginning of poverty.  This research aims to analyze the farm, HHs’ income and distribution, in addition to the welfare of rubber farmer HH. The research is conducted by survey method at Labuhan Ratu VI village, Labuhan Ratu subdistrict, East Lampung regency in January to February 2023. The research samples in this study are 58 rubber farming HHs, obtained by simple random sampling method. The data is analyzed by measuring HHs’ income and distribution while HH’s welfare is analyzed based on BPS criteria, World Bank and BKKBN.  The research results showed that rubber farming income in Labuhan Ratu VI Village was profitable because the R/C value was >1. The largest HH income for rubber farmers came from rubber farming income. The distribution of rubber farmer HH income was relatively even and showed low inequality. The level of welfare of rubber farmer HHs was included in the non-poor category.
