Abstract

The main problems faced are low student engagement in the conventional learning process and limited opportunities for effective communication practice. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of blended learning in improving students' communication competencies, self-confidence, and mastery of theological material. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach involving 12 informants, consisting of 1 lecturer and 11 students, through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of assignment documents. The results show that the blended learning model provides significant improvements in students' abilities to prepare and deliver Public Speaking materials, expands learning access through the integration of digital platforms, and encourages active participation in theological discussions. The main findings reveal that the combination of face-to-face meetings and online learning strengthens lecturer-student interactions, increases the frequency of speaking practice, and provides a more focused space for spiritual reflection. In conclusion, blended learning has proven effective in the Public Speaking course because it is able to optimize the PAK learning process holistically, relevant to the needs of today's theological education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Bible learning medium for Sunday school children through an educational and interactive board game approach at Beth-El Tabernacle Church Kristus Alfa Omega, Patean, Kendal. The rapid advancement of technology has influenced children’s learning styles, creating a demand for innovation in religious teaching methods, particularly within the Sunday school context. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) design using the Lima Tahap (MANTAP) model, which includes identification of research problems, review of relevant theories, and feasibility testing conducted both qualitatively by 10 experts and quantitatively by 30 experts. The study produced a board game titled “Bible’s Back In Time Challenge” (BBC). The results indicated that the game achieved a validation score range of 90%–100% across sixteen statement items, signifying that the board game is deemed suitable and acceptable as a Bible learning medium for Sunday school children.

Abstract

Measuring service performance is crucial for a church as a religious organization. In the business world, service performance measurement typically uses a balanced scorecard (BCS), which can also be used within the church. The Full Gospel Fellowship International Church in Plamongan Indah, Semarang, has been using a balanced scorecard (BCS) for some time, but the results have not been satisfactory. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a balanced scorecard (BCS) design to improve the church's service performance. This study, which uses the Sequential Explanatory Mixed Method, produces a strategy map with ten interconnected strategic objectives from the four perspectives of the balanced scorecard (BCS). The ten strategic objectives consist of two strategic objectives from the financial perspective, two strategic objectives from the customer perspective, three strategic objectives from the internal business process perspective, and three strategic objectives from the learning and growth perspective. Through these ten strategic objectives, a church can apply them in planning, implementing and evaluating the performance of church services periodically to be able to continue to experience improvements.

Abstract

This study explores the challenges of evangelism at the Sudanese International Church in Amman, Jordan, located within a predominantly Islamic socio-cultural context. The research aims to identify and analyze effective evangelistic methods applied by church workers among Middle Eastern refugee communities. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and field observations. The findings reveal that effective evangelism in Jordan requires relational, holistic, and contextual approaches. The integration of the Three Circles method, the Markaz discipleship model, and social acts of love forms a strategic framework for reaching Muslim and refugee communities. The novelty of this research lies in its synthesis of theological and socio-humanitarian approaches, providing a practical model for Christian mission in Islamic contexts

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the positive and negative impacts of gadget use on the concentration of children aged 6–12 years and to examine the role of parents and Christian Religious Education teachers in guiding children. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research participants included children aged 6–12 years, parents, and Christian Religious Education teachers at an elementary school in Bogor Regency. The findings indicate that gadget use for more than three hours per day reduces children's concentration, as evidenced by difficulty maintaining focus, being easily distracted, limited social interaction, impaired physical health, and reduced perseverance in completing tasks. Nevertheless, gadgets also provide benefits as learning media when used appropriately. The researchers argue that the main problem lies not in the gadgets themselves but in the lack of supervision and limitations on their use. This study emphasizes the importance of a spiritual approach in addressing the impact of gadget use on children's concentration. The novelty of this study lies in examining the phenomenon of gadget use by highlighting the role of Christian Religious Education teachers, thereby offering a new perspective on research in child education in the digital era.

Abstract

This article examines 1 Corinthians 12:22-25 through the lens of disability theology to develop a theological foundation for inclusive Christian education in Indonesia. Employing qualitative library research and analogical hermeneutics, the study engages Pauline theology alongside the works of Nancy Eiesland, Deborah Creamer, Thomas Reynolds, and Brian Brock. Three theological principles are identified: (1) weakness does not negate membership in the body of Christ, (2) members perceived as weaker deserve greater honor, and (3) mutual interdependence is divine design, not human failure. Building on these principles, the article proposes four creative pedagogical models appropriate for resource-constrained Indonesian settings: Universal Design for Learning adapted for low-resource environments, low-cost locally available assistive technologies, collaborative peer-supported learning, and the creation of physically and socially inclusive learning environments without expensive infrastructure. The article also articulates the indispensable role of the church and Christian community as partners, trainers, policy advocates, and practical supporters of families.

Abstract

Different understandings of the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the baptism of the Holy Spirit remain significant issues in pneumatological discourse, particularly in the dialogue between Pentecostal and Evangelicaled traditions. Previous studies have tended to discuss these two concepts denominationally, descriptively, or separately between the narrative approach of Acts and the doctrinal approach of the Pauline letters. This article aims to reconstruct the theological meaning of the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the baptism of the Holy Spirit through a hermeneutical dialogue between Pentecostal and Evangelicaled traditions. This study employs theological library research using historical-theological, hermeneutical, and comparative-constructive approaches to Acts, the Pauline letters, the Gospel of John, and classical and contemporary pneumatological literature. The findings show that the infilling of the Holy Spirit refers to the continuing work of the Spirit in repentance, spiritual renewal, sanctification, and the believer’s witness. The novelty of this article lies in its integrative theological synthesis, which understands the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the baptism of the Holy Spirit as two related but non-identical pneumatological categories. This article contributes to pneumatological studies and constructive theological dialogue across church traditions.

Abstract

This study is based on the reality that many believers experience spiritual immaturity, which is characterized by a lack of courage in proclaiming the Gospel. Therefore, a theological understanding is needed to affirm that spiritual maturity is closely related to the urgency of personal evangelism as a tangible expression of faith growth. Academically, this study aims to contribute to Pauline theology by emphasizing the relationship between spiritual maturity and personal evangelism. This approach demonstrates that Paul’s spirituality cannot be separated from the aspects of mission and ecclesiology. This research employs a biblical literature study method that relies not only on primary data in the form of biblical texts, but also on secondary data from biblical literature and Pauline theology, including commentaries, systematic theology works, scholarly articles, and theological journals discussing the concepts of spiritual maturity and evangelism. Through theological and biblical analysis, this study seeks to demonstrate that personal evangelism is not merely a ministry activity, but an integral part of spiritual maturity in Christ. Practically, the findings of this study provide a theological foundation for the church to make discipleship the basis of evangelism.

Abstract

The problem in this study is to determine whether there is an influence of spiritual intelligence on children’s learning motivation, considering that in the field conditions students have low learning motivation even though the school has attempted to develop students’ spiritual intelligence through spiritual and religious activities. This study aims to measure and analyze the influence of spiritual intelligence on learning motivation. This research uses a quantitative-correlational research method. The total population in this study consisted of 32 students. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire. Furthermore, the data in this study were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique to determine the positive correlation and the coefficient of determination to identify the contribution of spiritual intelligence to learning motivation. The results of the study indicate that there is a positive influence between spiritual intelligence and learning motivation among students of SD Negeri Jatisari Semarang, with a contribution of 55.3% to learning motivation. These findings prove that students with spiritual intelligence are able to explore and discover meaning and purpose in every activity they undertake, which in turn can increase each student’s motivation to learn.

Abstract

Amid rapid digital transformation, Christian education encounters a fundamental yet often overlooked challenge: the disruption of faith internalization processes. Values that are taught no longer automatically translate into students’ character and spirituality, resulting in a gap between theological understanding and everyday practice. This study aims to examine the nature of Christian education as a process of character and spiritual formation in the digital era, identify its key challenges, and propose a relevant and integrative pedagogical framework. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a literature review method, employing descriptive-analytical techniques to examine various scholarly sources. The findings indicate that Christian education should be understood as a holistic formation process encompassing stages of internalization, habituation, and transformation. This process must be supported by reflective pedagogy, authentic role modeling, and contextual engagement with digital technology. Furthermore, the study reveals that digital disruption can be transformed into a constructive opportunity when meaningfully integrated into the learning process. The novelty of this research lies in the development of an integrative model that bridges theological, pedagogical, and technological dimensions, while emphasizing collaboration among schools, families, and churches. Therefore, Christian education needs to be contextually reconstructed to remain relevant and effective in fostering character and spiritual formation in the digital age.
