Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluated the relationship of energy consumption (total digestible nutrients), intake protein and month of lactation with milk production on dairy cattle in Semarang Regency. The materials used was 40 dairy cattle between 1-9 month of lactation. It were grouped into 3 groups of month lactation including group 1 (1-3 month), group 2 (4-6 month) and group 3 (7-9 month). The measured variables were dry matter consumption, crude protein, and total digestible nutrients as independent variables and milk production as a fixed variable. The effect of independent variables on fixed variables was tested using correlation test and linear regression. The result showed that milk production of each group 1,2 and 3 was 12.12, 9.40, and 7.73 liters / day. The crude protein content and total digestible nutrients ration ranged between 12-13.7% and 62-66%. The consumption of crude protein and total digestible nutrients had no apparent correlation with milk production in dairy cattle in Semarang Regency, but milk production was strongly influenced by lactation (p <0.01). Correlation value (r) between lactation month with milk production showed moderate relationship (r = 0,55) with regression equation Y = 13.258-0,717X, that the milk production will decrease equal to 0,717 liter every month. The conclusion of this study is consumtion of protein and energy is not correlated with dairy milk production in Semarang Regency. Lack of consumption of crude protein and total digestible nutrients in early lactation leads to lower production presistence than normal milk production patterns.

Abstract

Wheat pollard is a waste of the wheat industry and many contain non starch polisacharida (NSP) that interfere with the chicken digestive tract. NSP in wheat pollard can be removed by heating, so it can be used by microbes in the digestive tract of poultry. Utilization of NSP by microbes will result in short chain fatty acids (SCFA), namely acetic acid, propionate and butyrate which have a positive effect on the digestive tract of poultry. The purpose of this study is to examine changes in levels of rafinose, glucose, mannose, arabinose and sucrose in wheat pollard into a source of functional feed for poultry. The benefit of research is to know the technique / manufacture of functional feed material from wheat pollard. The material used in the research is wheat pollard and aquades by using autoclave tool. The design used was a complete randomized design of 2x3 factorial pattern with 3 replications. The first factor is the duration of steam 30 and 60 minutes while the second factor is the addition of water (0, 30 and 60%). The results showed that the addition of water and the duration of different steam strongly influenced (p <0.001) and had interactions on rafinose, mannose, arabinose, sucrose and glucose parameters. The mean of water addition factor increased rafinose level from 1.11+0.03% to 29+0.02% while steam duration decreased raffinose content from 1.99+0.01% to 1.90+0.04%. Glucose levels increased in water addition factor and steam duration from 0.25+0.01% to 1.06+0.12% and 0.54+0.03% to 0.63+0.07%. The mean of water addition factor decreased the mannose level from 0.19+0.01% to 0.06+0.02% and the steam duration increased the manosa level from 0.09+0.01% to 0.15+0.01%. Levels of arabinose increased in water addition factor and steam duration from 0.30+0.03% to 0.98+0.01% and 0.54+0.02% to 0.70+0.04%. The average water addition decreased the sucrose content from 1.80+0.09% to 1.55+0.04% and the steam duration increased the sucrose content from 1.48+0.04% to 1.72+0.03%. The research conclusions that the steam treatment and the addition of water greatly affect the changes of rafinose, glucose, mannose, arabinose and sucrose in wheat pollard and potentially as functional feed. Recommendations that can be given by researchers is the source of feed ingredients that have high starch content should be processed before it is given to poultry so it has a functional value and improve the digestibility of the feed material.

Abstract

An experiment was undertaken to investigate physiology of growth on broiler chickens under two differences of temperature (18ºC and 32ºC) on final body weight gain, plasma concentration of T3 (triiodothyronine), plasma concentration of T4 (thyoxine) and plasma concentration of corticosterone (CTC). Body weight gain was highest significantly at forced-fed (at 18ºC=361.86 g/chicken/12 d; at 32ºC=345.02 g/chicken/12 d) and it was lowest adlibitum-fed (at 18ºC=354.91 g/chicken/12d; at 32ºC=343.39 g/chicken/12 d). Thus, rate of muscle protein syntesis (%/day) was lowest when the chickens were exposed adlibitum-fed (at 18ºC =7.40 %/day; at 32ºC =3.94%/day). Plasma concentration of T3 (triiodothyronine) was significantly decreased to exposed by adlibitum-fed (at 18ºC =1.45 ng/ml; at 32ºC=0.58 ng/ml); plasma concentration of T4 (thyoxine) was significantly decreased to exposed by adlibitum-fed (at 18ºC=5.95 µg/dl; at 32ºC= 0.58 µg/dl). However, plasma concentration of corticosteron (CTC) was significantly increased when the chickens were exposed by forced-fed (at 18ºC=9.49 ng/ml; at 32ºC=25.89 ng/ml). These results clearly show that plasma concentration hormones of thyroid and corticosteron (CTC) status are affected by temperature, forced-fed and adlibitum-fed, and may play an important role in the regulation of growth in broiler chickens.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the technical application of picohydro power plant (making design and application test) in Pandansari Village, Wanayasa District, Banjarnegara Regency. The result of technical analysis of picohydro power plant is capable of producing 7.200 watt or 7,2 kilowatts of electric power. Based on the observation and calculation of water discharge in July-August 2017, the water debit required to run the generator on picohydro power plant is insufficient (less than 30 liters / sec) due to the months already entering the dry season in Banjarnegara Regency and also because some of the water debit is used by waterwheel to increase water supply to the water container / reservoir belonging to the people of Pandansari Village. During the dry season, the picohydro power plant can be used when operated alternately with a water mill or set the time of use for each water mill used in the morning until late afternoon, while the picohydro power plant is used during the afternoon until night or early morning when people need electricity for their daily needs. The next alternative is to place a second picohydro / turbine generator under the first turbine utilizing waste water from the first turbine with a height difference of at least 2 meters or more. If during the rainy season, there is a very heavy flow of water from above then the overflow can be disbursed / dumped down through the overflow channel so that the performance of the picohydro generator is not disturbed

Abstract

Ongoing population growth and urbanization can cause pressure on water systems, especially in urban areas. Several previous studies have found evidence of an influence between population and water quality. However, the phenomenon in Indonesia is slightly different, because although population growth has decreased trend, but the acquisition of water quality index still fluctuate in several years. This study aims to determine the significance influence of population on water quality in Indonesia. Data analysis is done through regression of panel data of 33 provinces with fixed effect model, The results showed that the population has a negative influence on water quality in Indonesia. An increase on population by 1,000 people tends to lower the water quality index by an average of 1.13 points (cateris paribus). Population growth control becomes absolute and priority in Indonesia. However, these efforts need to be accompanied by continuous improvement of competence and welfare, so that the social awareness and economic capacity of each population are increased in order to achieve a better maintenance on the quality of the environment.

Abstract

Regional planning is commonly conducted by considering administrative boundary, however, it should not do in environmentally regional planning. In this case, there is water crisis area in Wakung Comal Hulu Sub Watershed. Although 64% of them is covered by forest. It located in the growth centre of Pulosari Sub District. Thus that condition affecting the water need of the community in household and agriculture. This phenomenon becomes the background of the research regarding the regional adaptation the water resource availability. This research use mix method with exploratories sequential model. Furthermore, it uses many technique analysis such as descriptive qualitative and scoring. To collect the data, this research use non-probability sampling particularly purposive sampling. The result of study found the kind of adaptation levels. They are high, optimal and low. Furthermore, the optimal adaptation dominated about 63% of them. the optimal adaptation is an ideal type. Because it contains an equality in morphology, physiology, and behavioural adaptation and so does stakeholder’s role. The unique point is the government and private sector has no causative relationship. Thus, it necessary to enhance the role of private sector.
