Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of palm sugar and beet juice in drinking water on relative weight of small intestine, proventriculus, and ventriculus of broiler chickens. One hundred and ninety five unsexed day old chicks (DOC) strain cobb were completely randomized into 5 treatments: T0 (control), T1 (1% palm sugar solution), T2 (1% beet root juice), T3 (2% palm sugar solution), and T4 (2% beet root juice). Palm sugar solution and beet root juice were given as drinking water. Chick from each treatment was taken on 2th, 3th, and 4th day. The chicks were sacrificed then dissected, small intestine, proventriculus, and ventriculus were taken and weighed. The results showed that 1 % and 2% palm sugar and beet juice in dringking water increased relative weight of small intestine at 4th day.

Abstract

Population dynamics is one of the aspects be considered in regional planning. Population important to be noticed and taken into consideration because the population is subject and object of development in order to achieve prosperity. Migration is one of the three basic factors that influence the growth of the population, in addition to births (fertility) and death (mortality). Migration can increase the number of population if the number of people who go into an area more than the number of people who leave the region. This study examines the deeper dynamics of migration that occurred in Central Java. This study used a qualitative descriptive statistical analysis and map overlay analysis. Based on the results of studies that have been done that most region/ cities in Central Java included in quadrant III as many as 21 region/ cities (60%) and in quadrant I, as many as 11 region/ cities (31%). While the category quadrant II is only one region(3%) and quadrant IV only 2 region (6%).

Abstract

This research was conducted in the village Tawangsari Teras Boyolali Regency in September-November 2014 with a survey method, interview and FGD (focused group discutions) as well as qualitative descriptive analysis of the community-based food processing raw agricultural products local to empowerment increase. Results of research addressing community empowerment processors that are affected by factors: a) the level of active participation of the government in empowering; b) human resource capability of facilitators; c) the knowledge and skills of processing; d) processing capital; e) the availability of raw materials; f) institutional / organizational processing; g) the marketing of products; and i) science and technology. Therefore, in order to develop the processing business, especially in the area of ​​research should be conducted by government agencies and the community to improve: a) specific training business management processing of agricultural products ; b) development of business groups similar processed food products ; c) technical assistance efforts since the formulation of the problem to the marketing of products ; d) development utilizing local agricultural production to support business processing ; e) the movement of plant species of plants required in the production of processed food agricultural products; f) the development of the procurement of capital to support the processing group ; g) the development of diversification of processed food products ; h) efforts to facilitate networking equipment supporting and developing partnerships

Abstract

Aim of this study was to analyze the strengthening of SIDA and conduct the study of the dynamics of policy implementation and achievements of the arrangement of the elements of strengthening SIDA. This study chose Magelang Municipality as the study site because Magelang Municipality Government has undertaken various development policies SIDA. The research is a qualitative description of the implementation of the strengthening of SIDA in Magelang from 2012 to 2015. Conditions SIDA strengthening at the level of policy in Magelang are on Strengthening Value SIDA (NPS) of 8.2 and has been included in the main categories. NPS on the scope of the policy can be achieved due to the support of the Mayor's commitment to strengthening policy implementation SIDA. If viewed from the level of policy implementation SIDA in Magelang, regulation (Regulation Mayor of SIDA, a mayoral decree on the Coordination Team and the Theme Priorities SIDA, Decree of the Regional Secretary of the Drafting Team Roadmap) and institutional research and development of existing and in 2015 it will draft Roadmap SIDA pending the preparation RPJMD Magelang Municipality Year 2016-2020. Judging from the development achievements of institutional arrangements, networking, and resources SIDA in Magelang Municipality with 6.2 for the institutional achievements of NPS, 7.5 for networking, and 5.3 resources. The results could be used as input for the development of SIDA districts / municipalities in Central Java. Therefore, the Coordinating Team SIDA Central Java Province along the Coordinating Team for District / City should mapping SIDA policy conditions in all districts / municipalities in Central Java

Abstract

Kesuburan perairan tambak merupakan salah satu faktor penting untuk mempertahankan keberlanjutan kegiatan budidaya dan produktivitas tambak. Salah satu indikator tingkat kesuburan tambak adalah komposisi makrobentos pada dasar tambak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji komposisi jenis serta keragaman bentos yang terdapat pada tambak wanamina di wilayah pesisir Kota Semarang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pengambilan sampel pada tambak wanamina di wilayah pesisir Kota Semarang yang mengintegrasikan vegetasi jenis A. marina dan R. mucronata selama 3 bulan, yaitu bulan Juni, Juli dan Agustus 2010. Sampel tersebut kemudian diidentifikasi di laboratorium. Analisis data dilakukan terhadap indeks keanekaragaman dan indeks keseragaman bentos. Hasil pengumpulan data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat variasi jenis bentos yang ditemukan pada kedua petak tambak wanamina serta secara temporal. Jumlah jenis bentos yang ditemukan pada petak tambak dengan mangrove A. marina sebanyak 3 jenis pada bulan Juni dan 6 jenis pada bulan Juli dan Agustus. Sementara pada petak R. mucronata ditemukan sebanyak 11 jenis, 7 jenis dan 9 jenis pada bulan Juni, Juli dan Agustus. Jenis bentos yang ditemukan dominan pada petak A. marina adalah C. chironomus pada bulan Juni adn M. punctata pada bulan Juli, sedangkan pada bulan Agustus tidak terdapat jenis bentos yang dominan. Sementara pada petak R. mucronata jenis bentos yang dominan yaitu C. cingulata pada bulan Juni dan Juli, serta M. punctata pada bulan Agustus. Analisis terhadap indeks keanearagaman jenis bentos pada petak A. marina yaitu sebesar 0,776; 0,781; dan 1,592 dengan indeks keseragaman sebesar 0,697; 0,436; dan 0,889. Sementara pada petak R. mucronata indeks keanekaragaman jenis bentos sebesar 1,883; 1,565; dan 1,667 dengan indeks keseragaman 0,785; 0,804; dan 0,758.

Abstract

Penelitian untuk mengkaji manfaat dari penambahan pollard fermentasi dalam menurunkan kandungan serat kasar dan meningkatkan kualitas fisik pellet telah dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk melihat pengaruh penambahan pollard fermentasi terhadap kualitas fisik pellet, sehingga dapat memberikan kepastian mengenai penggunaan pollard fermentasi yang optimal dalam pellet ditinjau dari segi serat kasar, kekerasan pellet dan durabilitas pellet. Materi penelitian meliputi pollard yang telah difermentasi, jagung, dedak halus, bungkil kedelai, tepung ikan, bungkil kelapa dan mineral mix. Tahapan penelitian dimulai dari pembuatan cairan limbah sayuran fermentasi, fermentasi pollard dan pembuatan pellet serta pengujian pellet. Pencetakan pellet menggunakan metode dingin (tanpa conditioning). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan yaitu T0=0%; T1=10%; T2=20%; T3=30% dan ulangan 4 kali. Parameter yang diamati adalah serat kasar, kekerasan dan durabilitas pellet. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan pollard fermentasi berpengaruh nyata terhadap peningkatan nilai kekerasan dan durabilitas pellet. Pellet dengan penambahan pollard fermentasi taraf 30% mempunyai serat kasar dan kualitas fisik yang paling baik. Simpulan penelitian adalah penambahan pollard fermentasi dalam pellet hingga taraf 30% dapat mempengaruhi kualitas fisik pellet.

Abstract

The study aimed was to evaluate the utilization of citric acid (CA) as an acidifiers in dietary protein stepdown (SDN) on the development of small intestine and growth of broiler. Dietary treatment was initiated when the broiler was 8-day-old with an initial body weight was 186.23±0.68 g. Sources of acidifier were synthetic citric acid (SCA) and lime citric acid (LCA). Protein and metabolizable energy contents of starter period feed was 21.41% and 2856.91 kcal/kg, respectively, for control, and 19.25% and 2884.12 kcal/kg, for SDN, while those of finisher period was similar to those of SDN feed of starter period, for control, and 17.37% and 2882.13 kcal/kg, respectively, for SDN. The treatment consisted of T0 (control without SDN and CA), T1 (SDN without CA), T2 (SDN+0.8% LCA), T3 (SDN+ 0.4% SCA), T4 (SDN+0.8% SCA), T5 (SDN+1.2% SCA) and T6 (SDN+1.6% SCA). Parameters observed were development of of the small intestine (weight and length) and final body weights. The study was assigned in a completely randomized design (CRD) with 7 treatments and 4 replicates (6 birds each). The results showed that inclusion of citric acid as an acidifiers in dietary protein stepdown of starter and finisher periods significantly (p<0.05) increased the weight and length of the small intestine (duodenum, jejunum and ileum) with the highest value were T4 (16,72; 32,52; and 26,98 g and 36,22; 83,62; and 78,95 cm) and T5 (15,28; 29,70; and 22,95 g and 35,38; 79,88; and 77,10 cm), while the lowest was T1 (11,00; 22,85; and 16,60 g and 31,50; 70,95; and 65,05 cm) and the highest final body weights were T5 (1048,97 g) and T6 (1074,36 g), while the lowest was T1 (938,43 g). Conclusion of the study is that dietary inclusion of citric acid as an acidifiers in protein stepdown for starter and finisher periods at the level of 0.8 to 1.2% effectively increase weight and length of small intestine, especially duodenum and final body weight of broilers.

Abstract

The research was aimed to analyze the effect of feeding fermented water hyacinth on protein utilization in broiler chicken. The experimental animals were 144 broiler chickens of 14 days old with an average body weight 355,91 ± 16,95 g. The experiment was assigned in a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 6 replications (6 birds each). The treatment applied were fermentated water hyacinth in the ration as follows : 0% (T0), 5% (T1), 10% (T2); 15% (T3). The parameter observed were protein consumption, protein digestibility, body weight again and protein efficiency. The results showed that feeding fermented water hyacinth significantly decreased protein consumption, protein digestibility and body weight again, but not for protein efficiency on the level of trust 5%. The conclusion of the research is that feeding fermented water hyacinth in broiler chicken can be applied at the level of 10% because it produces protein efficiency similar with the ration without water hyacinth.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to evaluate the effect of addition starter Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) on organoleptic quality of napier grass silage. The completely randomized design was been used on this research with 3 treaments and 5 replications. The treatments were different level LAB ( 0 %, 1 % dan 2% v/w). The parameters were physical organoleptic quality silage (pH, color, odor, texture, and molds). The results showed that physical organoleptic quality of napier grass silage with a starter BAL organoleptic significant (p <0.05) better than without the addition of starter BAL. The conclusion was the use of starter lactic acid bacteria on ensilage process produces physical organoleptic qualities of good silage.

Abstract

This study aim to characterize three varieties of hybrid corn (Bisi, Pioneer 21, Pioneer 27), the appropriate method of soaking time (0, 1 and 2 hours)and the interaction of these two treatments in order to obtain the best physical and chemical properties. The method used Random Completely Design with two factors, factor I: three varieties of hybrid corn, factor II: the appropriate method of soaking time. Data was Analyzed statistically by ANOVA. The results concluded that: Variety Pioner 27 has a superior flour parameter compared with Bisi and Pioner 21, these parameter seen from the rendement, moisture content, crude fiber content. two hours soaking time had significant effect on rendement, moisture content, crude fiber, protein and carbohydrate levels, meanwhile ash and fat levels had no significant effect.
