Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to improve the activities and learning outcomes of the subject matter of statistics in SMAN 7 Bengkulu city. Student learning outcomes regarding the subject matter of statistics still have not reached KKM, which is 75. This is because some students still consider that mathematics lessons are boring. Therefore, the researchers concluded that the learning process carried out must have variations to improve student learning activities through the application of the Student Teams Achievement Division learning model. This research is a classroom action research carried out in several cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The study was conducted in SMAN 7 Bengkulu city with the research subjects being students of class XII IPA 5. Data collection techniques carried out in this study were observation and test of learning outcomes. The instruments used are student observation sheets and test questions. The indicator of success used is the activity of students said to increase if the results of observations of student activeness in general achieve active, ie achieving a score between 24-30 and completeness of learning in a classical manner will be achieved if 75% of students get a value of ≥75. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the mathematics learning outcomes of class XII IPA 5 students of SMA N 7 Bengkulu City increased with the application of the learning model of the student teams achievement division. This can be seen based on the results of the final test of each cycle, namely the average value in the first cycle is 71.77 with classical learning completeness 43.33%, in the second cycle increased to 76.64 with classical learning completeness 60.61%, and at cycle III increased to 83.24 with classical learning completeness 82.35%. Keywords:Model Student Teams Achievement Divis

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to study enhancement of solving ability of student SMP Negeri 3 Muara Enim  through Situation Based Learning (SBL) system. The method of this research is quasi experiment with pretest and posttest group design. Pupulation in this research that is  all class VIII  SMP N 3 Muara Enim, taken sample taken of two classed that class VIII.D many as 28 students as a class of experiment  that  get Situation Based Learning (SBL) system, and class VIII.C as much  29 students as a control class get conventional learning system. The instrument used in this study it test mathematical problem solving abilities in the form of essay questions that have been empirically validated. Data analysis uses N-Gain test and T test (Independent Sample t-Tes), with a prerequisite test first namely the test for normality and homogeneity. Based on the analysis of the data, the results obtained in this study stated that an increase in mathematical problem solving abilities of student of SMP Negeri 3 Muara Enim who obtained a Situation Based Learning (SBL) system was higher than students who received conventional learning. Keywords :Situation Based Learning (SBL), Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

Abstract

ABSTRACTMathematics has a base object which includes ideas, facts, concepts, principles, and skills with one of the main characteristics of logical reasoning. Many students who have difficulty in math, because it requires high mental activity, also claims success in learning mathematics which also determines the continuation of studies at a higher level to make the most of students anxious face of mathematics. This anxiety becomes an important factor to be studied. This study was to determine the relationship of anxiety in mathematics to students' mathematical connection capabilities. Data processed by correlation, the results showed that there was a negative correlation study mathematics anxiety on students' mathematical connection capabilities. Keywords: Anxiety Mathematics, Mathematical Connections

Abstract

Indonesian students' mathematical literacy based on PISA and PIRLS assessments is still in the low category. Mathematical literacy covers how students are able to know and use basic mathematics to solve problems in real life contexts. Problem Based Learning Model is a learning model that can solve problems in real life contexts by facilitating the development of junior high school students' mathematical literacy. The main principle of Problem Based Learning emphasizes mathematical problems that are human activities and must be meaningful for students, become a motivator to improve mathematical literacy skills through the stages of learning. This article examines the mathematical literacy ability of SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu students before and after going through the Problem Based Learning Model. Students' mathematical literacy skills prior to the application of the Problem Based Learning model have a percentage of 25% for the medium category and 75% are in the low category. Then for students' mathematical literacy ability after applying the Problem Based Learning model has a percentage of 5% for the medium category, 90% is in the low category, and 5% is in the high category. The results of inferential statistical analysis (Paired Sample T-test) obtained a significance value <0.05. This means that there is an increase in students' mathematical literacy skills after the application of the Problem Based Learning model in class VII SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu City. Keywords: Literacy Ability, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

This research is a development research which aims to (1) produce matematic module numeric method is valid and practical at STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagaralam. The research method consist of two stage: (1) preleminary, includes analysis and design of teaching materials in the form of module, (2) formative stages of study includes self evaluation, experts review, one to one and small group. The research subject were student of STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagaralam. Data collection was done by walk trought, documents, and observations. All data collect were analyzed descriptively. Based on the result of the data analysis, it was concluded that (1) this research has produced in a product in the form of module numeric methode is valid and practical. Valid drawn from the assessment and advice of validators, which otherwise well-developed  module according to content (corresponding curriculum SBC), construct, and language (in accordance with EYD). Practical drawn from the test result, which module easy to wear, with the track students minds, not to cause a variety of interpretations and can be supplied and used by the students.

Abstract

One of purposes that want get in the mathematics lesson, According to Permendikbud Number 58, 2014 is ability of mathematical communication. The ability of mathematical communication can be facilitated on learning model of ELPSA (Experiences, Language, Pictures, Symbols, Application). Kinds of this research is descriptive, which aims to describe students mathematical communication abilities based on indicators on the ELPSA  learning model in grade VIIIA Junior Hight School number 10 south Bengkulu. The data obtained through skills test, mathematical communication and interview. Then, it analysis with some steps such as, data reduction, presentation of data, verify data dan draw condutions. The result of this research show that it has been able to achieve three indicators which are desired that is express the ideas and mathematic information on understand and evaluation the mathematic ideas, using terms, mathematical notations its structure, and present ideas. Keywords: Mathematical Communication Skill, ELPSA Model

Abstract

This study aims to know whether teaching materials developed were valid and practical at the triangle of material through PMRI in junior high school. The research began by interviewing teachers in SMPN 2 Bengkulu city was obtained information that in mathematics on triangular material still has difficulty at understanding the concept. The teaching material developed in this study was in the student books, teacher books and lesson plan (RPP). Development of this resource referred to the mode of development of 4-D (four-D) that was Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. However, this study was only done until the stage of development (development) only. At the defining stage has been done as much as five steps of the activity. At the design stage, researchers prepared a prototype by designing instructional materials in the form of books developed through PMRI.Keywords  :Teaching materials, Triangle, PMRI

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see and explain the potential application of local cultural values to the learning process in elementary schools. Problems that occur based on the results of observations that many students have difficulty in understanding mathematical concepts, so that it will affect student learning outcomes. The method in this research uses the type of case study research. The sample of this study was 3 (three) elementary schools in Jakarta. Some types of local culture that are applied consist of 2 (two) types, namely Textual and Building. The results of the study were conducted in several schools, namely the Mathematics learning process using local culture-based learning models such as doorstop learning models and teachers using media and local culture-based teaching aids such as miniature Betawi traditional houses. By integrating Local Wisdom in Mathematics learning, mathematical objects that exist in the human mind, in the form of facts, concepts, principles, and skills will emerge so as to strengthen the ability of understanding, reasoning, creative, critical, and communicative in solving mathematical problems faced by students. Keywords: Local Cultural Values; Mathematics Learning
