Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan strategi pembelajaran working backward yang disertai dengan partisipasi musik. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian Non equivalent Control Group Design. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan strategi pembelajaran working backward, Sedangkan, pada kelas kontrol menggunakan strategi pembelajaran resitasi terstruktur. Partisipasi musik artinya siswa diberikan perlakuan dengan cara mendengarkan alunan musik dengan volume nada yang telah diatur selama proses penugasan berlangsung. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan strategi pembelajaran working backward lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan strategi pembelajaran resitasi terstruktur. (2) Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan strategi pembelajaran working backward disertai partisipasi musik lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan strategi pembelajaran working backward non musik (3) Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan strategi pembelajaran resitasi terstruktur disertai partisipasi musik lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan strategi pembelajaran resitasi terstruktur non musik. (4) Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan strategi pembelajaran working backward disertai partisipasi musik lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan strategi pembelajaran resitasi terstruktur disertai partisipasi musik.Kata kunci: Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika, Strategi pembelajaran working backward, Partisipasi musik

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh Kemampuan pemahaman konsep sangat penting sebagai capaian pembelajaran lulusan yaitu menguasai konsep matematika yang diperlukan untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran di satuan pendidikan dasar dan menengah dan menguasai konsep matematika yang diperlukan untuk studi ke jenjang berikutnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kategori kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis melalui metode pembelajaran mandiri. Penelitian menggunakan model penelitian deskripsi kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa kleas 7C program studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Indraprasta PGRI Jakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes pemahaman konsep matematika dan observasi. Dari hasil tes yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dalam kategori rendah 13,89% (5 orang), kategori sedang 77,78% (28 orang) dan kategori tinggi 8,33% (3) orang. Sedangkan untuk  rata-rata nilai kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis mahasiswa adalah 44,14 termasuk dalam kategori sedang.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research with design several cycles which aims to know the improvement of the student ability on the mathematical understanding that using CORE type of cooperative learning. The research subjects were the seventh graders at SMP Muhammadiyah Integrated of Bengkulu City. the Instrument used in this research is a test sheet. As for the conclusion of this result research is, through the application of CORE type learning on the subject of waking flat trapezoidal at the seventh graders at SMP Muhammadiyah Integrated of Bengkulu City, the students’ mathematical understanding of each indicator has reached a predetermined success criterion, incluiding: the first cycle in a number of indicators that are in both categories are still not reaching the success criteria specified but at the second cycle of the entire indicators of the ability of mathematical understanding already be in either categories and the ability of mathematical understanding has achieved success criteria specified.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the geometric thingking ability of students in the quadrilateral and triangular material based on the Van Hiele theory to grade VII B SMPN 9 Kota Bengkulu who have field independent (FI) cognitive style. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive. The Data were obtained from Van Hiele geometry test results and interviews. Ones were analyzed by using qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that FI’s students able to analyze problems of geometry well and in responding to such questions based on the requirements from the inside. So the ability of the highest FI’s students can be achieved to ability level from level 2 to the level 3 (Pre deduction).Keywords : Geometry Thinking, Van Hiele Theory, Field Independent (FI)

Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking ability is the ability of students in generating new ideas to solve mathematical problems. To develop mathematical creative thinking abilities of students, teachers must have and implement a learning model that fits in the learning process. Learning model that can be used to measure students' ability to think creatively mathematical namely the model of inquiry learning and teaching model . This study aims to determine whether the inquiry learning model in individually and together better than conventional. This research is a quasi experimental research with the population of students class X SMAN 01 Mukomuko The sample in this study is student class X 3 and class X 1 as a class experiment and X 2 as a class control. This study was conducted in April-May 2015. Data was collected using a mathematical creative thinking ability test. Data were analyzed using statistical tests Anova test of the lanes and the Advanced Test (BNT). Based on calculations obtained Anava no difference mathematically creative thinking abilities of students in class experimen I, experiment II, and class control. Based on the test of Least Significant Difference (LSD) showed that three treatments give different results. Based average value the final test learning  and conventional learning in develop student to think creatively mathematical good to teacher or a student. Keywords : Creative Thinking Mathematically, Inquiry

Abstract

This study aimed to see differences in the ability of understanding the mathematical concepts that students taught through cooperative learning model jigsaw with conventional learning on eighth grade students of SMPN 18 Bengkulu academic year 2013/2014. This research is a quasi experimental study. The study population is the entire eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Bengkulu city. The research sample determined by random sampling technique and obtained  VIII.2 classes to taling 30 students as classroom control, and VIII.3 graders who totaled 30 students as a class experiment. The data collected is the data from the pre-test and post-test students' comprehension of  mathematical concepts, the data were analyzed using t-test. The results of this study indicate that while t table t count=2.1652785=2.00172 which means that there are differences in the ability of students' understanding of concepts taught through cooperative learning model jigsaw with conventional learning on eighth grade students of SMPN 18 Bengkulu academic year 2013/2014. Based on the results of this study concluded that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model affect the ability of students 'understanding of the concept compared to conventional learning, so that there are differences inthe ability ofstudents'understanding of mathematical concepts of these two classes.Keywords: ability of understanding the mathematical concepts, Jigsaw cooperative learning model

Abstract

The background of this research is caused many things should be considered in learning mathematics one of them is students should be have ability in understanding concept of learning mathematics. Because each lesson of math materials contain a number of concepts that should be understand by students, therefore students should be able to relate what they have in their thinking structure like a mathematical concepts with the problems of students face. This Research aims to know picture students ability of mathematical concepts in VII class SMP PGRI Bengkulu city using lesson model of attainment concept on reflection material and what the factors that influence it. In this research, the data collection is done with tests and interviews.This research is a qualitative research descriptive . This study done in May 2015 at junior high school PGRI Bengkulu city. Sources of data are all of VIIth grade students. Data capabilities student in understanding mathematical concepts obtained using tests and interviews. Data tests students' ability of understanding mathematical concepts analyzed descriptively according Miles and Huberman. And then total four students were interviewed to find out more how the students' understanding of mathematical concepts.The results showed there were 21 students from 25 students were categorized good and 3 students were categorized enough, and a student were categorized less, so overall students' abilities in understanding mathematical concepts using models attainment concepts of mathematical students by using model attainment concept in VIIth class  SMP PGRI Bengkulu City are categorized good. Keywords: the ability of understanding mathematical concepts, learning model of attainment concept

Abstract

The ability to think in humans are naturally including the ability to think mathematically. Many activities conducted in the thought process among others see the possibilities that exist, making analysis and synthesis to reason or draw conclusions from the existing premises, weigh adan decided. Thinking activities in this section is closely associated with the process of probabilistic thinking. The thought process is one of the high-level thinking skills. However, there are still many students who have not been able to develop thinking skills to solve problems probabilistic.This caused one of them is still weak reasoning ability of students, especially in solving problems such as permutation and combination opportunities. In addressing this issue, we need a good analysis and the whole picture, so that it can provide the right solution. The analysis can give an overview to the problem is to consider the level of probabilistic thinking as developed by Jones were split into four levels of thinking that is subjective, transitional, informal quantitative and numerical. The results obtained from the test sheets and interviews show that the thinking of students Class XI SMA Negeri 9 of Bengkulu in resolving the permutations and combinations in general are still at the level of the transitional thinking. Students are still experiencing a process of change of the thought process based on his experience of being thought processes of quantification. Keywords: probabilistic thinking process, permutations, combinations

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of students' understanding of mathematical concepts to learning mathematics. Therefore, it is necessary to use a model that is capable of learning to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts one of which is a cooperative learning model make a match. This study aims to determine the activity of students and teachers in the learning process and to determine the improvement of students' comprehension of mathematical concepts using cooperative learning model make a match. This study was conducted on 10 April to 10 May 2014 in the Junior High School 13, the city of Bengkulu. Research subjects of this study were all students of class VII C to determine the increase in activity and the ability of understanding the concept of using observation sheets of students and teachers to see what students and teachers during the learning process, then performed a pre-test to determine the ability of beginning students and post-test to determine the ability of the student understanding of mathematical concepts as applied to cooperative learning model make a match on each cycle. Based  results of data analysis it can be concluded that an increase in student activity, the activity of the teacher in the learning process and the increasing ability of understanding mathematical concepts students each cycle.Keywords:understanding the concept, make a match

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) How does the use of contextual learning approach to creative thinking ability of students? (2) How does the use of contextual learning approach to mathematics connection ability of students? (3) How different the influence of contextual learning approach with conventional learning on students' ability to think creatively? (4) How do the differences influence of contextual learning approach with conventional learning on mathematics connection ability of students? This research is quantitative research with experimental methods in the form of pure experimental types. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau South Sumatra Province. The number of samples to be used in this research in experimental class 28 and class 29 controls. This study is a pure experiment using a pretest-posttest control group. In this study, the data collection method used is the technique of testing. From the analysis it can be concluded that: (1) There is a significant influence of contextual learning on students' ability to think creatively mathematics. (2) There is a significant influence of contextual learning on mathematics connection ability of students. (3) There is a significant difference in the effect of contextual learning with conventional learning on students' ability to think creatively mathematics. (4) There is a significant difference in the effect of contextual learning with conventional learning on mathematics connection ability of students. From this research, the authors recommend the need for an alternative approach to the selection of appropriate learning to improve the ability of creative thinking and the ability to connect mathematics to be applied, also the importance of pretest and posttest during the process of learning mathematics. Keywords   : Contextual, Creative Thinking Mathematics, Mathematical Connections
