Abstract

Since ancient times, Indonesia has been known to have various kinds of batik spread in each region. Various motifs of batik culture are widespread throughout Indonesia, one of which is West Java. This type of West Java batik is widely known as Priangan batik and is used for various batik types in the West Java region. There are 16 batik-producing regions in West Java, each with its batik style. The Batik Gallery and Workshop design is an alternative space for existence and learning space about batik. The design of the Gallery and Batik Workshop is planned in Cipadung because there is a link between building function activities related to cultural arts and the selection of Neo Vernacular Architecture themes to represent Locality Architecture in buildings. The application of the theme will be implemented in the building in terms of mass, facade, and material. The Design of Batik Galleries and Workshops uses descriptive qualitative methods by collecting field data and looking for literature/comparative studies that will be used as references in the design process. It is hoped that the results of this design can be helpful for learning and valuable for readers in the future.

Abstract

The gallery building is a unique function building whose design must be handled carefully because it involves many aspects related to the physical artifacts, user activities, and values. The application will become more complicated if the gallery is not developed from the beginning but develops an existing building and already has a strong character before. The Indonesia National Gallery Building is one interesting case, set from an old heritage building. The functions of a modern gallery and its accessories must be adapted to the building's initial character of classical architecture. The purpose of this research is to make a functional study of the gallery building, especially at the National Gallery of Indonesia (GNI), and to prepare spatial design rules for facilities that do not yet exist, both in terms of area for managers and exhibition rooms. The architectural survey method aims to overview the advantages and disadvantages of the Indonesia National Gallery building for improvement in another case of designs.

Abstract

By 2020, the 2,444,160 projected population of Bandung will continue to grow, as the need for housing in Bandung City is increasing, but the land is available for restricted housing. Congestion is a problem that needs to be solved as well too. This traffic was caused by a sizable Bandung movement, especially with the movement intent to work at 60.55%. To solve this problem, mixed buildings can be an alternative solution. The mixed-use building contained a vertical dwelling that increased land efficiency, and there is also a diversity of functions that can reduce movement. By choosing new urbanism themes, the entire design aspect of the mixed-use building is linked to 10(ten) new urbanism principles, such as material, public space, circulation, and landscape.

Abstract

The term Islamic Boarding School may be familiar to our ears. The existence of Islamic Boarding Schools has recently mushroomed and has become an attraction for some people. Boarding School is a pre-university level boarding school where all students live in dormitories that have been provided for the duration of their education. We all know that socializing in this millennial era is a scourge for parents, especially for those whose children are in their teens, the presence of the Islamic Boarding School is the answer to these problems, not just a choice but also a need for parents "at the time of now" to send their children to advanced levels. This design carries the concept of tropical architecture, which provides answers/adaptations of building forms to the influence of the tropical climate. The low environment has specific characteristics caused by the sun's heat, high humidity, rainfall, wind movement, and so on. This design is done by looking for literature studies and precedents that will later be used as a reference in designing and analyzing problems, then making comparative studies to create harmony with the function of the building. This design is expected to be a design illustration that can be developed again in the future.

Abstract

Kota Baru Parahyangan is a rapidly growing independent city with many facilities including Residential, Commercial, Recreational, and Public Areas. In addition, Kota Baru Parahyangan has an integrated and directed area development plan called the Town Center, which will be developed into a "City Center". And to support the efforts of the Master Plan Town Center development plan, a vertical Low Rise Apartment with the concept of a High-end Apartment is designed; with the existence of vertical Low Rise Apartment housing in Kota Baru Parahyangan, it is hoped that it will provide more diverse residential options. excluding Landed House and Landed House. In addition, applying Tropical Contemporary Architecture is anticipated to produce a building with a modern façade that responds well to the weather and surrounding environment, resulting in an aesthetically and thermally rhythmic structure. This design is based on field observations, comparative studies, and literary research connected to the building, followed by site analysis and application of architectural principles, which are then depicted in the form of two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) working drawings) (3D).

Abstract

The continuous growth of the times, particularly in West Bandung, necessitates that individuals continue to increase their potential and income in order to fulfill their basic demands. In this manner, community activities are expanding, but the community's physical and mental health are deteriorating due to the monotony and sameness of daily life, such as increased traffic congestion and deteriorating air quality. With the aforementioned conditions, facilities that can be used are required. Resort & Spa is one way to enhance the community's physical and mental health in the form of a place to vacation, rest, and relax in a new environment. This work employs a descriptive approach of analysis, namely the collection of data. This data is gathered via a literature review and comparative analysis of comparable initiatives, and is then examined. With a number of difficulties resulting from the fast growth of the times, one of which is an unhealthy atmosphere, the design of this Hotel & Spa seeks to create a pristine environment with the notion of returning to nature using the Eco Architecture theme. By integrating the principles and ideals of Eco Architecture to Resorts & Spas, it is anticipated that natural harm would be reduced. Spatial layout and circulation are planned with the environment's essentials, such as air conditioning, views, lighting, etc., in mind, with the aim of reducing energy use. In addition, the use of eco-friendly and indigenous materials, such as wood, reinforces the idea of this resort and spa, which is to return to nature.

Abstract

Currently, it is a necessity and a trend in health therapy to pamper oneself for modern society. The increasing need for health facilities (wellness) and spa relaxation in today's environment is proof of the high interest in lifestyle in modern society. The design of the Spa & Wellness Center is present as a place that accommodates various facilities in the form of relaxation activities, and a complete health and fitness clinic. Supporting the tourism sector according to government programs in health tourism/wellness tourism is very useful to adjust to the needs of modern society in the city of Bandung. The method used in this design is an architectural design method with an Organic Architecture approach. The results obtained from the Organic Architecture approach are applied to lighting systems, ventilation and land contours such as determining the position of openings, materials, mass forms, and controlling the lighting that will be obtained by each building. The design variables that will be the topic of discussion include contour land, the shape of the mass material, the use of materials, and the facilities contained in the building. From the results of this design obtained a commercial building that has the function of health (wellness) and spa relaxation is expected to be a building that is considered good not only in the function of the building but in its aesthetics and form.

Abstract

This idea was developed out of need. Displaying Contemporary Music Unsuitable buildings, particularly in urban areas. Since five years ago, Bandung, a city with a big number of fan communities, has grown by 20 per cent. As far as acoustic quality and space limitations are concerned, the accessibility of music performance halls in Bandung does not currently offer a solution to these issues. The purpose of this plan is to upgrade the production of contemporary music execution so that it becomes a standardized assembly in the Bandung region as a whole and globally, with capable acoustic innovations, so that it can serve as a benchmark in the construction of contemporary music execution structures. To address the current issue, a presentation room with an acoustic innovation strategy that is tailored to the needs of the melody exhibition will be designed. This plan will result in the creation of an option plan for assembling a contemporary music performance that conforms to the client's specifications regarding acoustic quality and room constraints. Architecture with a dynamic idea. This concept represents a desire to create a dynamic and hospitable environment, thereby encouraging clients to develop their thinking consistently. Through advanced and basic plans, with the goal of maintaining its diversity and enjoyment. Through this concept, we are expected to provide our guests with a beautiful yet comfortable environment. In addition, the outcomes of this plan can be an input for the Joint Government of West Java, the local community, and art activists, particularly musical specialists, to have the option to collaborate on the construction of performance expressions based on their respective needs using the planned methodology and strategy.
