Abstract

This research explains the decision-making system in determining problems using the Dapoer Zahra case study in Pekanbaru. This research aims to measure the popularity of cake products at Dapoer Zahra Pekanbaru using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, as well as providing product recommendations that are worthy of prioritization based on the analysis results. AHP works by comparing each criterion in pairs to find out which one is more important. After the weight of each criterion is determined, cake products are assessed based on these criteria. The final result is a product ranking from most to least popular, which can be used as a basis for decision making in business management. Based on the research results, it was found that taste is the most important criterion in the level of popularity of cake sales products at Dapoer Zahra at 42.98%, price at 40.99% and finally the appearance criterion at 16.04%. The Marble Cake alternative has the highest level of product popularity with 28.50%, Chiffon Cake with 19.56%, Baked Brownies with 17.34%, Tape Cake with 13.93%, Roll Cake with 10.38%, and the last one is Bolu Banana with 10.29%. The results of the analysis show that Marmer Cake has the highest priority level compared to other types of cakes based on the criteria of price, taste, and appearance. This shows that Marmer Cake is considered superior in terms of taste that consumers like, competitive prices, and attractive product appearance. These advantages can be used as a reference by Dapoer Zahra to strengthen business strategies, such as increasing Marmer Cake production capacity, expanding flavor variations, or conducting special promotions for this product.

Abstract

Green’s relations constitute five distinct equivalence classes that serve to define the elements of a semigroup. In this work, the equivalence classes within the Full Transformation Semigroup (Tκ) were systematically enumerated according to their respective heights, and the findings derived were subsequently generalized through the application of a combinatorial assertion and their graphical representations included to substantiate the theoretical results.

Abstract

In this paper, fractional differential equations (FDEs) are solved numerically using the least squares method (LSM). Shifted Chebyshev polynomials are used as the basis functions, and the results are compared with the exact solutions. Several numerical examples are presented to illustrate the theoretical results and are also compared with the outcomes obtained from other numerical methods. It is found that the results of the proposed approximate method converge rapidly to the exact solutions.

Abstract

This study aims to explore students' negative emotions in learning mathematics at the Vocational High School (SMK) level using Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory perspective. It analyzes five types of negative emotions and compares them across different grade levels. The research employs a descriptive and comparative quantitative method involving 60 students from three grade levels at SMK Tangerang Global. Data were collected using AEQ-M and analyzed with descriptive statistics and ANOVA, while Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory was used to interpret how social interaction and the cultural context in the classroom affect students' emotions. The results indicate that students' average level of negative emotions falls into the moderate category (2.19 on a 5-point scale), with the main triggering factors being shame, fear of making mistakes, and boredom with the material. From the perspective of Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory, these negative emotions suggest a lack of collaboration and social interaction, which can hinder the utilization of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD). Therefore, collaborative learning strategies, scaffolding, and relevant contexts are recommended to create a more supportive learning environment. This study provides valuable insights into the dynamics of students' negative emotions in mathematics learning and offers approaches to enhance a more effective and inclusive learning experience.

Abstract

In early 2020, the Covid-19 epidemic started in China, rapidly spreading across the globe, including Indonesia. Indonesian society is known for its diversity and complexity, making it difficult to predict trends in the number of infected, deceased, and recovered individuals. This study develops a Covid-19 transmission epidemic model, called SV EIAR, which accounts for interventions such as vaccination and the mudik tradition (the practice of returning to hometowns during Eid). In this model, the susceptible (S) compartment refers to the subpopulation of individuals who are susceptible to the virus, while vaccinated (V) represents those who have been vaccinated twice. The exposed (E) compartment includes individuals who are infected but still in the incubation period and unable to spread the virus. Infection (I) refers to individuals who are symptomatic, and asymptomatic (A) includes those who are infected but show no symptoms. Lastly, the recover (R) compartment represents individuals who have recovered from the infection. The analysis of the model involves identifying the reproduction number, estimating the disease-free and endemic equilibrium points, and analyzing their stability. Numerical simulations were carried out using Covid-19 transmission data from Indonesia to predict the trends of the infected and asymptomatic populations. The results suggest that the dynamics of Covid-19 cases are semi-stable in the susceptible (S), exposed (E), infected (I), and asymptomatic (A) compartments, meaning that these populations will increase over time. In a disease-free situation, the susceptible population (S) remains stable at a certain value, while other populations are stable at nearly zero. The susceptible population in the disease-free state is larger than during an epidemic, while other populations are smaller in the disease-free state compared to the epidemic. Additionally, the study found that vaccination can help reduce the transmission of Covid-19, while the practice of mudik can increase the spread of the virus.

Abstract

Investment is an activity of managing sources of funds with the goal of increasing profits within a certain period of time. The number of investors in the capital market, especially stock investments continue to increase. Stock movements result in returns that investors can obtain. Randomly fluctuating share prices make it difficult for investors to forecast share prices. This research helps investors in forecasting stock price movements based on PT. Gudang Garam Tbk. (GGRM) for the period 2022. This research aims to determine the level accuracy of the Geometric Brownian Motion (GBM) and Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) methods in forecasting stock price movements. The accuracy level of the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) for the GBM method is 1.68% and the ARIMA method forecasting results is 3.37%. The MAPE value of both methods is less than 10\%, so it can be said that both methods are best fitting and have a high level of accuracy in forecasting stock price movements. The GBM method is better at forecasting stock prices because it is more realistic for financial asset price models because it includes volatility in the model.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the understanding of the concept of exponents of mathematics education students in terms of cognitive style. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. The subjects in this study were 2 mathematics education students consisting of 1 student with reflective cognitive style and 1 student with impulsive cognitive style. The instruments used in this study were 2 items of exponent problem solving and interview guidelines. The results showed that Reflective Cognitive Style Subjects were able to fulfill all indicators of understanding the concept of exponents, namely indicators of exponent problem solving, identifying positive, negative, and zero exponents, using exponent rules, understanding roots and fractions as exponents, and identifying and correcting exponent misconceptions. Meanwhile, Impulsive Cognitive Style Subjects were only able to fulfill 4 indicators of understanding the concept of exponents. Impulsive Cognitive Style Subjects were not able to fulfill the indicators of identifying and correcting exponent misconceptions. The advantage in this study is to fill the gap in the literature by connecting the understanding of the concept of exponents and cognitive style variations. Furthermore, making mathematics education students as research targets. It offers novelty because their understanding of exponents has direct implications on how they teach the concept in the future.

Abstract

Hepatitis B (HB-0) immunization in infants is an important step in preventing the transmission of hepatitis B from an early age and improving public health. This study aims to classify the HB-0 immunization status of infants in West Java Province. The method used is the Random Forest and LightGBM algorithms. The research results showed that the Random Forest model had a balanced accuracy of 0.8443, which was slightly higher than LightGBM (0.8357). This indicated that Random Forest performed better in classifying the HB-0 immunization status of infants in West Java Province, accurately distinguishing between those who received and did not receive the immunization without bias toward either class. The global analysis using the Random Forest model identified six feature importance that contributed the most to the model’s performance: BCG immunization status, ownership of the KIA/KMS book, mother’s age, household head’s age, age at first pregnancy, and regency or city classification of residence. The feature importance analysis using SHAP for the first observation showed that BCG immunization status, ownership of the KIA/KMS book, and regency or city classification of residence increased the likelihood of infants receiving immunization. Conversely, the number of children (4), mother’s age (37 years), and household head’s age (40 years) increased the likelihood of infants not receiving immunization. This study is expected to provide data-driven insights for the government to design more effective interventions to improve immunization coverage and child health in Indonesia while also supporting the achievement of global health targets.

Abstract

Retirement planning requires strong financial preparedness, making pension funds a crucial component of long-term financial strategies. One of the key aspects in managing pension funds is the actuarial method used to calculate pension liabilities and contributions. This study aims to compare the normal cost and actuarial liability calculations between two actuarial methods, namely Projected Unit Credit (PUC) and Entry Age Normal (EAN), under two interest rate assumptions: a constant interest rate and a stochastic interest rate modelled using the Vasicek model. The Vasicek model is applied to capture the dynamic fluctuations in interest rates, providing more realistic estimates. Based on parameter estimation, the stochastic interest rate obtained through the Vasicek model is 7.113%. The results show that applying the Vasicek model leads to higher actuarial liabilities compared to the constant interest rate approach. Furthermore, the EAN method results in lower final contributions and higher actuarial liabilities compared to the PUC method, making it more favourable for pension participants. These findings highlight the importance of considering interest rate dynamics in pension valuation to enhance the accuracy and relevance of actuarial calculations in an ever-changing economic environment.
