Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to determine a technology level, financial and institutional resources in agroindustrial development based on nagariconcept in West Sumatra. This model was built using Analytical Network Process (ANP). The selection result of technology level shows the priority of technology level requirement. The fulfilled requirements for the selection are the efforts to transform the current technologies to a more appropriate technology (teknologi tepatguna). The result shows, that effective financial supports are in form of co-operative and governmental sources. Abstract

ABSTRAK   The development of colored label indicator is increasingly necessary to ensure food safety with a rapid method to evaluating historical real-time of the freshness of the product. The objective of this research is to design labels/film color indicator with natural and synthetic dyes. In this study, the label/film indicators was made of chitosan as a film base and natural dyes of rosella flower, bit fruit and red spinach leaf extract as dyes. This indicator label sware compared with labels made of synthetic dyes. Evaluation the performance of the label in color changes during storage as visual looking was tested  The results showed that natural dyes are very sensitive to temperature, thus it is not appropriate if in the film making, it involves a process that uses high temperatures. Unfortunately, in general, chitosan film typically used a temperature of 70oC to disolve and homogenize the flour of chitosan. Furthermore, natural dyes are also sensitive to acid. As a result, the addition of acetate acid in the chitosan film is undesirable on the filming. Process synthetic dyes provide constant color film. The changing of color in the films with synthetic dyes can be occured due to changes in pH. Therefore, this film/label is very suitable to be applied for products which is decreased in pH if it is deterioration, such as fruits or dairy product.   Keywords : Film/label, color indicator, chitosan, natural dye, synthetic dye

Abstract

ABSTRACT Facing the problem of market condition dan competition shifting, lack of sufficient information about customers’ needs dan firm competencies are challenges to business organizations. Customers have requirements that they do not reveal dan causing the firm’s failure of meeting the customers’ satisfaction. Therefore, firms need to manage their relationship toward customer, so as to gain a better customer insight by implementing the Customer Relationship Management approach. This research is aiming at evaluating service quality to meet customer’s satisfaction dan planning an improvement for service quality based on customers’ judgment at Mitra Nasional Kualitas Jakarta, Ltd using Quality Function Deployment concept. The voice of customers is identified using questionnaire dan translated into service requirements by building a House of Quality matrix. In the end, evaluation results show that these service attributes: suitableness of limit order dan special discount for loyal customer got improvement proportion point as 1.7 dan indicate these service attribute have not met the customers’ satisfaction yet. The service recovery can be done by improving the quality of staffs’ service attitude, performance of office staff dan distribution staff dan goodness of information flow as well.                 Keywords: CRM, house of quality, QFD, service quality, voice of customers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   The increasing of human demand about diesel fuel that was not balanced with the appropriate of petroleum production caused global crisis of energy. Under these conditions, biodiesel is a promising alternative fuel to replace petroleum-based diesel. Jatropha curcas L. can be used as an alternative energy resource because it contains 30-40% oils. Jatropha curcas L. is a plant that can be easily growned in Indonesia, so it is prospective as raw material for biodiesel. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of reaction time and hexane to total solvent ratio on biodiesel yield and quality produced by in situ transesterification of jatropha seeds. The used raw material was grounded jatropha seeds with moisture content of < 2% and ± 20 mesh size. The operating conditions of hexane to total solvent ratio and reaction time were varied at 1/6, 2/6, 3/6 and 3, 4, 5 h, respectively. KOH concentration, reaction temperature and stirring speed were fixed at 0.075 mol/L methanol, 55oC and 300 rpm. The analysis of biodiesel quality included acid value, viscosity, ash content and saponification value. The results were analyzed with Response Surface Method (RSM). The produced biodiesel yield was 71%-81%. The highest yield (80.67%) and the best quality of biodiesel were obtained under operation condition of the 5 h reaction time and 1/6 hexane to total solvent ratio (acid value of  0.31 mg KOH/g, saponification value of 193.97 mg KOH/g, viscosity of 3.45 cSt, and ash content of 0%). Respon surface analysis of hexane to total solvent ratio and reaction time variables to respon of biodiesel yield resulted first order equation, Y =  63.00– 4.14(A) + 3.81(B), with R2= 95.56%. The variable of reaction time (B) had significant influence on biodiesel yield. Respon surface analysis of operating condition variables to respon of biodiesel quality showed the variable of hexane to solvent ratio (A) and reaction time (B) had significant influence on acid value and viscosity, especially.   Keywords: biodiesel, jatropha, in situ transesterification, reaction time, solvent ratio

Abstract

ABSTRACT Keeping customer satisfaction is important to keep customer loyalty which can be done by implementing Customer Relationship Management (CRM). CRM has main objective to increase customer retention through increase customer satisfaction. Giving the appropriate service can gain customer satisfaction. The appropriate service given based on customer’s assesment on service variabel importance rate. In addition, service evaluation was done by implementing survival analysis method, to got information about the decline of customer satisfaction based on customer retention. The objectives of this research were to assess service variables important to customer. Then, prediction was needed to build a service recovery based on survival analysis component which were retention curve, hazard curve dan survival curve. The research in Mitra Nasional Kualitas, Ltd Jakarta, resulted in customer assess on reliability and assuranceattributes from service variable wasvery important. Abstract

ABSTRACT   Currently, the majority of the world’s pulp and paper is manufactured from raw materials, either wood from industrial forest plantations or natural forests. The rate deforestation in Indonesia increases by 2% per year. The study was conducted to combine microbial cellulose of nata de cassava and coconut husk to reduce the use of wood cellulose in manufacturing pulp and paper. Two factors of experiment are the addition of additives and a combination of microbial cellulose and pulp of coconut husk (100:0, 75:25, 50:50 and 25:75). The yields of microbial cellulose and of coconut-husk pulp were consecutively (dry basis) 80.03% and 39.72%.  Physical and strength properties of paper varied, i.e. water content (7.22-10.46%), grammage/basis weight (53.72-68.56 g/m2), tensile index (0.003-0.029 kNm/g), tear index (2.58-16.59 mNm2/g), brightness (8.15-35.1%), printing opacity (45.99-97.08%), and Cobb size60 (46.79-168.17 g/m2 for the smooth/upper surface; and 28.22-183.92 g/m2 for the rough/lower surface). The result of the analysis assuming the conversion of biomass to paper made with 50% pulp of nata de cassava and 50% pulp of coconut husk indicated that the expansion of production of 200 ha can substitute 8,808,356.438 trees per year. With the ammount of this saving trees, 1,233,169.901ton CO2 from the air can be absorbed each year.   Keywords: Nata de cassava, coconut fiber, paper, biomass conversion analysis

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Increased production in companies will result in the increase the load of the existing wastewater treatment plant. To anticipate the future increase in the COD load, it is in need to characterize dan optimizize the existing wastewater treatment plant. Objectives of this research were characterization of operating conditions, measurement of performance as well as optimization of a food wastewater treatment plant to increase the effluent quality and minimize cost of operating cost.This study was conducted in a food industry in Jakarta. Characterization of the physical installations performed against all operation units that include the unit process physical, biological, and chemical processes. Performance evaluation was carried out using secondary and primary data covering NH4+, phosphate, nitrate, TSS, turbidity, temperature, pH, COD, MLSS, and DO. It was indentified that the biological stage was need to be optimizd especially in the nutrient addition. Almost all units there are differences between condition actual and design that lead to lower efficiencies. It was identified that the optimum nutrition added on Monday was 7 kg/day of urea, 26 kg/day of phosphate as well as 8 kg/day of nutrition liquid. The optimum nutrition added on Thursday was 32 kg/day urea, 45 kg/day phosphate and 8 kg/day nutrition liquid. By implementen these recommendations it can be expected a cost saving by 50%.   Keywords: food industry, nutrient addition, operating conditions, performance optimization

Abstract

Selulosa asetat merupakan senyawa turunan hasil asetilasi selulosa dengan pereaksi asetat anhidrida. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan biofilm selulosa asetat dari selulosa mikrobial nata de cassava. Nata de cassava yang diperoleh melalui fermentasi limbah cair tapioka dengan bantuan bakteri Acetobacter xylinum selama 8 hari  dikeringkan dan dihancurkan hingga membentuk  serbuk. Serbuk selulosa mikrobial  yang diperoleh diaktivasi menggunakan asam asetat glasial, diasetilasi menggunakan pelarut asetat anhidrida dengan perbandingan selulosa:pelarut 1:3, 1:4, dan 1:5 selama 1, 2, dan 3 jam kemudian dihidrolisis menggunakan asam asetat encer. Larutan selulosa asetat diendapkan dengan aquades, dikeringkan lalu dihancurkan hingga terbentuk serbuk selulosa asetat. Serbuk selulosa asetat dilarutkan dalam aseton dan dilakukan penambahan pemlastis gliserin sebanyak 15% dan 25% dari bobot selulosa asetat lalu dicetak menggunakan plat kaca. Selulosa asetat yang terbentuk memiliki kadar asetil antara 30.60 - 44.51%. Biofilm yang terbentuk memiliki rata-rata kekuatan tarik 320.50 kgf/cm2, elongasi 3.06%, WVTR 461.97 g/m2/24 jam, dan daya serap air 10.52%.   Kata kunci : biofilm, selulosa asetat, selulosa mikrobial, nata de cassava.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Dodol rumput laut merupakan salah satu jenis camilan tradisional rumput laut yang sehat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh profil produk dodol rumput laut, mendapatkan model bisnis terbaik untuk usaha produk dodol rumput laut dan merancang pengembangan bisnis produk dodol rumput laut. Pada  pengembangan  profil  produk  dilakukan  pembuatan  dodol,  uji  kesukaan  panelis, identifikasi nutrisi produk dan desain kemasan. Pengembangan model bisnis dilakukan dengan metode test the  problem,  test  the  solution  dan  verifikasi  model  bisnis.  Pada  pengembangan  bisnis  dodol  rumput  laut dilakukan dengan menganalisis kebutuhan pasar dan perhitungan HPP produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa untuk model bisnis terbaik pada value proposition adalah produk yang mengandung serat rumput laut, membantu memperlancar pencernaan, memiliki rasa enak, unik dan kenyal, tersedia dalam berbagai varian rasa dan ukuran kemasan. Pada customer segment adalah pembeli online, seluruh wilayah Jabodetabek, anak-anak (indirect  consumer),  wanita  karir  dan  reseller.  Selanjutnya  pada  revenue  stream  terbaik  adalah  penjualan langsung produk dan program reseller dan dropshipper.   Kata kunci : model bisnis, rumput laut, dodol rumput laut

Abstract

ABSTRAK Gambir dapat digunakan sebagai antibakteri pengganti fluoride dalam pasta gigi anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui preferensi konsumen terhadap pasta gigi anak, penerimaan masyarakat terhadap ide produk pasta gigi gambir, dan merumuskan strategi penetrasi pasar berdasarkan bauran pemasaran yang sesuai untuk produk pasta gigi gambir. Penelitian dilakukan melalui survei purposive sampling terhadap ibu-ibu. Kebanyakan responden belum mengetahui bahaya fluoride dan tertarik dengan ide produk pasta gigi gambir serta bersedia membeli dengan harga sedikit lebih mahal. Strategi penetrasi pasar disusun berdasarkan bauran pemasaran. Dari sisi produk, pasta gigi gambir harus mengedepankan manfaat dan keamanan bagi anak. Saluran distribusi utama adalah dokter gigi dan personal selling. Promosi dilakukan terutama melalui media elektronik yang mengedukasi konsumen tentang manfaat gambir. Harga yang ditetapkan yaitu antara Rp.5.000 sampai Rp.12.000 untuk memperkuat persepsi nilai manfaat yang tinggi.   Kata kunci : gambir, pasta gigi gambir, bauran pemasaran, penetrasi pasar.
