Abstract

Cigarette smoke and vaping have grown to become significant public health concerns around the world. Both types of cigarettes have various chemicals that can impact the respiratory system and overall health. E-cigarettes or vapes are often considered a safer alternative, but in fact, they can also be harmful to respiratory health. This research aims to explore and compare the impact of cigarette smoke and vape smoke on the respiratory system. The research used a qualitative approach with a literature review method. This approach was chosen because it allowed the researcher to collect and analyze information from a variety of existing sources, thus providing a comprehensive view of the topic at hand. The results of this study explain that both cigarette smoke and vape smoke have significant impacts on respiratory health, with cigarette smoke linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer, while vape smoke although considered safer, still carries serious health risks including inflammation and lung tissue damage.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between modern lifestyles and adolescent mental health. The technique applied in this study is a qualitative method with a literature study approach with the aim that the information from the research results can be comprehensive. The sources used in this study include journal articles, books, and industry reports related to the influence of lifestyle on adolescents' mental health, all sources were collected with the keywords "modern lifestyle", "adolescent mental health", "technology use", "adolescent sleep patterns", "diet and mental health", and "physical activity and mental health" after which all sources were evaluated to be relevant to the research topic discussed. This study revealed the results that excessive technology use, irregular sleep patterns, unbalanced diet, and lack of physical activity contribute significantly to the increased risk of mental disorders such as anxiety and depression in adolescents. Strategies proposed to mitigate these negative impacts include encouraging healthy technology use, improving sleep quality, promoting a healthy diet, encouraging physical activity, and building strong social support.

Abstract

Gastroenteritis akut merupakan gangguan sistem pencernaan berupa peradangan pada sistem pencernaan yang ditandai dengan diare dan muntah yang disebabkan oleh virus ataupun bakteri, berlangsung kurang dari 14 hari. Data dari WHO menunjukkan terdapat 1,7 miliar kasus gastroenteritis setiap tahunnya di seluruh dunia. Di Indonesia, prevalensi gastroenteritis mengalami peningkatan dari 1,2 juta jiwa, dengan kenaikan dari 4,5% menjadi 6,8% kasus. Di Jawa Barat, prevalensi gastroenteritis tercatat sebanyak 15%, dan di Bekasi tercatat sebanyak 42.316 kasus. Di Rumah Sakit Anna Medika, terdapat kenaikan sebanyak 36 kasus. Tujuan dari studi kasus ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi Asuhan Keperawatan Gastroenteritis pada An. A di ruang Anggrek RS Anna Medika Kota Bekasi Tahun 2023 dari tanggal 24 Januari sampai 26 Januari 2023. Metode yang digunakan pada studi kasus ini adalah wawancara, observasi, pemeriksaan fisik, dan pendekatan Asuhan Keperawatan yang meliputi: pengkajian, diagnosis keperawatan, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pasien anak dalam penerapan asuhan keperawatan dengan masalah gastroenteritis. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat pada pengkajian, diagnosis, intervensi, implementasi, dan evaluasi, ditemukan masalah keperawatan berupa diare, risiko hipovolemia, dan nyeri akut. Kesimpulannya, terdapat tiga masalah keperawatan pada An. A yang berhasil teratasi dengan baik.

Abstract

Patient knowledge is very influential in therapy for people with diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition in which there is an increase in glucose levels in the blood because the body cannot produce insulin effectively. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of providing educational videos about diabetes mellitus on the level of knowledge in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Chania Care Center. This research design is pre-experimental with a one group pre and post-test design approach. The sampling using total sampling technique with a large population of diabetics obtained a sample of 30 respondents. The independent variable is educational videos while the dependent variable is knowledge level.Using questionnaire instruments. Using the Paired T-Test with a level of significance (?:0.05). The results showed that 21 respondents had less knowledge before giving the video to 5 respondents after giving the video. Respondents with sufficient knowledge amounted to 4 to 14 respondents. The amount of good knowledge increased from 5 respondents to 11 respondents out of a total of 30 respondents. The results of the analysis of the Paired T- Test showed that the influence of 6-9 p value = 0.000 < ? = 0.5 H1 was accepted. In conclusion, there is an effect of providing educational videos about diabetes mellitus on the level of knowledge in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Interesting educational videos will be easily understood by many people and often the intensity of learning will increase one's knowledge and understanding. Diabetes educational videos can be used as promotional media to increase diabetes knowledge.
