Abstract

Introduction Malnutrition in toddlers refers to a condition of wasing where the weight of babies is not in line with their age and height. Several attributes have been metioned as the major causes of this malnutrition and those include direct and indirect factors. Purpose This case study research aims to implement sustainable midwifery care management for children under five at the Independent Practice of Midwife Hj. Nuryati. Method The study was conducted by using Varney's 7 Steps. Result The patient “F” was assessed, and his medical condition was monitored regularly especially her growth development. In addition, counselings were also given to the patient’s parents, particularly related to nutrition and balanced diet, personal hygiene, and caring management. Moreover, pre-screening development was also administered to the patient to prevent further complications for the patient. Conclusion In this research, 6 visits were conducted to the patient where the patient’s weight was apparent to increase gradually from a mere 8.6 kg to approximately 9.5 kg. It could be concluded the patient’s growth and development were considered to be in accordance with the baby’s stages of development. Therefore, the results of this study were in line with previous research and theories

Abstract

Introduction Hyperemesis Gravidarum is a complication in pregnancy characterized by excessive nausea and vomiting which can affect the general condition of pregnant women. Hyperemesis Gravidarum is divided into three levels, namely level I (mild), level II (moderate), level III (severe). The purpose of this study was to provide Antenatal Care Midwifery Care for Mrs. “K” with the case of Hyperemesis Gravidarum Level I in the gestational period of 12-14 weeks at Al-Jala Ammari Hospital of Makassar. Method The study was conducted by utilizing a 7-stage of Varney management approach. Result of this study indicated that during the caring management, various observations and four home visits were conducted. After the treaments, the condition of the patient gradually improved. This is evidenced by the results of the last observation at the patient’s house showing that her vital signs were within normal, and her excessive nausea and vomiting were resolved. Moreover, the patient’s appetite had also considerably improved. Conclusion The hyperemesis gravidarum experieced by the patient could be well handled and treated. The treatments were given both during the home visits and in the hospital.

Abstract

Introduction. Dysmenorrhea is characterized by severe and frequent cramps and pain during menstrual period. This pain could exist from the first day of the menstruation to several days of the period. Dysmenorrhea is mostly caused by contraction of the uterine wall when an increase in the hormone prostaglandin occurs which helps the process of releasing the uterine wall. This process causes cramps and pain mostly felt by women in the lower abdomen and back. Purpose of this research was to investigate the midwifery care management for an adolescent with the case of primary dysmenorrhea at Guppi Islamic Boarding School of Samata Method The study was conducted by utilizing a 7-stage of Varney management approach. Result of this study, investigating the case of Ms “A”, indicated that the initial treatments for the patient with primary dysmenorrhoea could be in the forms of compressing the lower abdomen using warm water and administering drug therapy. Moreover, it is also important to conduct a follow-up care and medication. Conclusion This study concluded that this study was conducted by implementing the 7-stage of Varney management approach and SOAP documentation procedure. It revealed that 3 home visits were conducted for the patient. In general, it is apparent that the patient was in good condition where the pain could be reduced, and psychological issues encountered by the patient could be overcome

Abstract

Introduction Hormonal contraception 3 month injection in Depo-Medroxy Progesterone Acetate (DMPA) is one method of contraception that is in great demand. Have good effectiveness, but it also has side effects such as menstrual disorders, spotting bleeding and bleeding in the menstrual cycle. In addition, there is also an increase in body weight gain is caused by the hormone progesterone, which makes it easier to change carbohydrates and sugar turns into fat, previous studies showed that the percentage of weight gain due to the use of DMPA was 69%. The importance of proper care and high weight gain due to DMPA, so that the purpose of this research was to provide midwifery care family planning acceptors of 3-month injecting family planning with weight gain in PMB Hj. Nurhaedah according to the needs and authority of midwives. Method This research used the 7-step midwifery care management method Varney and SOAP. Result Base on the case studies that have been conducted, it shows that the mother remains a acceptor of 3-month injections and accepts the side effects she experiences, namely weight gain. Conclusion This case study of 3-month injection family planning acceptors with weight gain at PMB Hj. Nurhaedah an analysis and documentation study was carried out regarding all the actions that had been carried out with results no discrepancy was found between the theory and the cases obtained

Abstract

Introduction Anemia during pregnancy is referred to as a "potential danger to mother and child" or "anemia is a potential danger to mother and child" so it is something that needs to be considered because it will have an impact on the health of the mother and child. Anemia can be influenced by internal and external factors, and education is one of the external factors that can influence the ability of pregnant women to receive and process health information during pregnancy. The pregnancy phase determines the ability of the child to be born, because development and growth are determined since the fetus is in the womb. Knowing about the incidence of anemia during pregnancy is something that really needs to be considered so that it is not only the responsibility of pregnant women but also the surrounding family who will accompany them throughout pregnancy. Method This study is a quantitative study with a cross sectional design, the sample technique uses purposive sampling with the total sample studied as many as 239 pregnant women and has fulfilled the research criteria. The research data was analyzed using the chi square test. Result This study obtained pregnant women who were anemic as much as 72.4% and the results of bivariate analysis showed that the level of education did not significantly affect the incidence of anemia in pregnant women with a p value of 0.258> 0.000. Conclusion This study shows that the level of education does not affect the incidence of anemia in pregnant women at Puskesmas Pampang Makassar City

Abstract

Introduction Based on the results of observations, researchers conducted research in RW.4 Tallo Subdistrict, Makassar City on the grounds that there are still many people who do not know the importance of Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) in the family and have not fully implemented it, seeing the conditions there are slum areas and people who are pre-prosperous. Method descriptive research with mapping of PHBS areas based on 5 indicators in the family in RW.4 Tallo Village, Makassar City. The population in this study was 370 households and no sampling was carried out. Result The research shows that 98.6% of households (RT) giving birth by health personnel are midwives, 84.1% give exclusive breastfeeding, 92.2% weigh babies and toddlers, 95.1% use clean water, washing hands using clean water and soap is 91.1%. Conclusion Based on the research results, the majority of clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) in families have not met the target of households with PHBS applied, namely 75%. The community as the target of this program should have full awareness to apply Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) as one of the indicators for creating a healthy city.

Abstract

Introduction Anemia is a condition in which someone lacks enough healthy red blood cells in blood circulation to carry adequate oxygen to all body’s tissues. Anemia occurs since the hemoglobin (Hb) level in the blood is lower than the normal value in which the number level is mostly based on age and sex. In adolescent period, the normal hemoglobin level for female is around 12-15gr%. Method This case study used 7 stages of Varney to analysis. Result The findings of this case study indicated that the patient, 16 years old, experienced various issues such as being weak, tired, sleepy, dizzy and anxious. In addition, she also felt some headache. With the complaints, several measures were taken by health workers. The examination on the patient was conducted, and the patient was administered with both pharmacological and non-pharmacological drugs to reduce the pain. Moreover, the midwives also played an important role in providing health care to the patient, including herfamilies Conclusion This study concluded that the midwifery care management given to Ms. “M” with the case of anemia was considered to be good and well managed in which no particular problems occcurred during the curing process

Abstract

Introduction The third stage of labor is the uri stage, namely the birth of the baby and the release of the placenta and the amniotic membranes. Active management of the third stage is the management on the expulsion of the placenta. In most cases, the maternal morbidity and mortality in Indonesia were caused by uterine atony and retained placenta. However, these issues could actually be prevented by enhancng the active management of the third stage. Method In this research, the 7-stage of Varney management approach was employed in accordance with proper procedure based on the competence and authority of the midwifes. Result The findings of this research indicated that there were no particular obstacles found during the process of treatment given to Mrs “J” with the third stage of labor. The patient experienced a normal lower abdominal pain and pains in the perineum on day 1. However, on the next monitoring day, the patient had no complaints, and there were no complications found. Conclusion His study concluded that the research was conducted based on the mentioned approach and SOAP procedure, and it revealed that from the third stage to the fourth stage there were no obstacles and complications found in both the mother and fetus. The condition of both the mother and the baby was generally good where their vital signs were within normal limits.

Abstract

Introduction Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood with an age range of 12-21 years. During this period, a maturation process occurs in terms of physical, biological, and psychological. In adolescence period, the mental and physiological aspects of individual were yet to be mature. As a result, many adolescents may experience dysmenorrhea that could ufortunately affect their daily activities, including learning activities. Method The method used in this study was a case study research by employing the 7-stage of Varney management approach and SOAP documentation procedure. Location at the hospital of Sitti Khadijah 1 Makassar. Result The findings of this research indicated that the 19-year-old patient complained of lower abdominal pain penetrating her back. She experienced this condition for 3 days for more than 6 times. Furthermore, she was also anxious with her abdominal tenderness and tension. From this research, the ultrasound examination showed no signs of abnormalities. Thereofore, the treatment was carried out by administering the anti-pain medication, mafenamet acid and non- pharmacological ginger ingredients. Conclusion This study concluded that varios examinations were given to the patient. From the results of her physical examination, the abdomen was identified to be in pain. However, there were no complications found in the patient, and the abdominal pain was no longer felt after the treatments were given. As implications, it is expected that midwives are able to provide care for patients with primary dysmenorrhea by providing proper explanations and appropriate treatment to patients. In addition, Islamic therapy should also be provdied so that patients could feel relax and calmer.

Abstract

Introduction Anemia or lack of iron which is needednfor thenformation of red bloodncells is one of the complicated nutritional problems faced by Indonesia today. Malnutrition in pregnant women is still a problem that must be addressed (hemoglobin). For this reason, research was carried out with the aim of this research being to carry out comprehensive midwifery care management for Mrs ''M'' with Anemia at the CaiIe Health Center, BuIukumba Regency. Method The subject used in this study was one of the third trimester pregnant women who had anemia, then comprehensive care would be carried out such as care for pregnant women, care for postpartum women, care for postpartum women, care for infants and care for family planning (KB). . This research data collection technique consists of interviews, observation, and documentation. result The results of this study are objective data from pregnant women in good overall health, calm consciousness, and HB 8 gram%. The diagnosis from the results of the data is that Ny. M experienced mild anemia during pregnancy was reached in BuIkumba in 2022. During the puerperium given to Mrs.M during the visit thenresults of thenexamination showednthat the mother's condition was normal, involution was good, there was no infection in the incision suture, TFU 2 fingers below the middle . As well as the family planning care given to Mrs. M, went smoothly. Conclusion this study is that Mrs M's healthy living standards in midwifery management can be said to have improved even though at first Mrs. M is anemic but in a light period.
