Abstract

Stunting is a condition where a toddler has less length or height compared to children his age. Stunted toddlers are a chronic nutritional problem caused by many factors, such as socio-economic conditions, maternal nutrition during pregnancy, pain in babies, and lack of nutritional intake in babies. The formula given to children who experience malnutrition according to the standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO) is made from oil, sugar, milk, water and flour. Apart from that, PMT can be made yourself with a composition that contains energy intake, protein and is made from ingredients that are easily obtained by the public at an affordable cost. These ingredients can be replaced with local food ingredients which are rich in vitamins and protein. The results of Monitoring the Nutritional Status (PSG) of Toddlers in 2017 by the Ministry of Health showed that 17.8% of toddlers experienced nutritional problems, including 3.8% cases of malnutrition and 14% malnutrition (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2018). Meanwhile, based on the 2018 Riskesdas, cases of malnutrition reached 3.9% and cases of malnutrition reached 13.88% (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2018). The prevalence of stunting in South Sulawesi Province in 2022 will be at 27.2 percent. Jeneponto Regency is the area with the highest stunting prevalence in South Sulawesi in 2022, reaching 39.8 percent, an increase of 1.9 percentage points from the stunting prevalence in 2021. Tana Toraja Regency is in second place with the largest stunting prevalence at 35.4 percent. Pangkajene and Islands Regency was 34.2 percent. Takalar Regency is still listed as an area with a high stunting prevalence rate, but recently it has decreased significantly. Based on data from the Indonesian Nutrition Status Study (SSGI) in 2022, the prevalence of stunting in Takalar Regency is at 31.1 percent. This figure has decreased significantly compared to 2021 of 34.7 percent.

Abstract

Abstract

Patient safety is a primary concern as it has now emerged as an international challenge confronting the healthcare system in hospitals. Patient safety is intimately tied to the incidence of Patient Safety Incidents within hospitals. The initial step in a hospital's patient safety initiative is to cultivate a culture of patient safety or to enhance awareness among all staff regarding the significance of safety values in hospitals. This research was conducted to evaluate the patient safety culture of all employees at St. Madyang Hospital, Palopo City in 2024. The measurement in this study that based on AHRQ (2019) version 2.0 method from the side of hospital staff can be measured through 10 dimensions, where categories of patient safety culture are grouped into three categories consisting of weak culture, medium culture, and strong culture. The results of the study showed a positive response of 68% or included in the category of Medium Safety Culture. The highest patient safety culture, which is 91%, is achieved in the Communication About Errors dimension. While the lowest cultural achievement is in the Number of Error Reports dimension, which is 33%. It is essential to motivation employees regarding the reporting of incidents in the hospital, as consistent reporting can subsequently facilitate easy access and safety in reporting, aimed at promoting safety and guaranteeing that health services will avert accidents or injuries in the future.

Abstract

The quality of well water in Jenemadingi hamlet does not meet health standards. As a result, cases of diarrhea and stunting are also high. The purpose of this community service is to provide training in water purification techniques. This educational method is carried out in five stages, namely: the socialization stage and the implementation stage. This activity includes three sessions, namely: the first stage: pre-test, which is administered through a questionnaire, using lecture, question-and-answer, and discussion methods; post-test and evaluation of post-test results; technology implementation stage; monitoring and evaluation stage; and program sustainability stage. The results of the community service activity indicate that the socialization of clean water and sanitation education is beneficial for the community, as the community's knowledge has significantly improved. The average score increased from 20.22 in the pre-test to 23.18 in the post-test, with a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant difference. These results confirm the effectiveness of the clean water sanitation education program.

Abstract

Service quality is a major determinant of patient satisfaction in primary health care. In Indonesia, community health centers (puskesmas) are the first point of contact for most patients, yet challenges remain in ensuring patient-centered care. This study aimed to analyze the influence of health service quality on outpatient satisfaction at Bontonompo Primary Health Center, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. A quantitative cross-sectional design was applied to 50 outpatients recruited through accidental sampling. Inclusion criteria were patients aged 12 years or older who had received outpatient services and consented to participate. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire adapted from the SERVQUAL framework, covering five service quality dimensions—tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy—and patient satisfaction, all measured on a four-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistics were used to describe sociodemographic characteristics, perceived service quality, and satisfaction. Chi-square tests and simple linear regression were applied to determine associations and the predictive influence of service quality on satisfaction, with a significance level of p < 0.05. Respondents were predominantly female (72%), aged 12–77 years, and most had completed senior high school (32%). Overall satisfaction levels were high, ranging from 82% to 100%, with two items achieving complete satisfaction. Nevertheless, one service quality indicator recorded dissatisfaction among 68% of respondents. Statistical tests confirmed a significant positive relationship between service quality and patient satisfaction (β > 0, p < 0.05). Health service quality significantly influences outpatient satisfaction at Bontonompo Primary Health Center. While overall satisfaction is high, improvements are needed in responsiveness and empathy. Recommendations include enhancing staff training, reducing waiting times, and implementing routine satisfaction surveys to support continuous quality improvement.
