Abstract

The family's active role during labor as an act of maternal love can reduce the incidence of labor complications and achieve safe delivery. This study aimed to determine the effect of the delivery companion module on the duration of labor in women giving birth in the archipelago region. The design in this study used a quasi-experimental with post-test only control group design. The sampling technique uses the hypothesis test of two independent population means of 34 maternal mothers. The research was conducted at the Bidan Praktik Mandiri (BPM) in Tanjungpinang City, from March to May 2022. The research tools used were observation sheets and partographs. To determine whether there is an influence of the independent variable and the dependent variable, statistical analysis of the Independent Sample t-Test is used. The results showed a significant effect of the delivery companion module on the length of labor in normal delivery mothers (p=0.00). Labor accompanied by a husband with a delivery companion module can shorten the delivery process compared to without a delivery companion module. Using the delivery companion module as a health promotion media is recommended to shorten the delivery process. Keywords: module childbirth assistant; length of labor

Abstract

To achieve the goal of good medical record services, it is necessary to improve the quality of medical records by the Medical Record Work Unit, where these quality improvement efforts are highly dependent on the availability of clear, accurate, reliable data and information, and timely presentation. The health data and information contained in the medical record file is very useful for the management of health care institutions to assess the services provided, whether they are of good quality, efficient and effective. This study aims to determine: 1) the performance of medical records and health information services; 2) clarity of information about service flow; 3) speed of service at registration; and 4) patient satisfaction in the outpatient unit registration department, at Maternal and Child Special Hospital "Pertiwi" Makassar. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The study was conducted from January to February 2022, involving 135 patients as respondents. Data was collected by filling out a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Furthermore, descriptive data analysis was carried out. The results of the analysis show that the distribution of clarity of information was: very good = 1,452, good = 726, poor = 90, very poor = 25, with a value of 84.92%. The distribution of service speed was: very good = 1,552, good = 669, poor = 86, very poor = 21, with a value of 86.22%. The distribution of patient satisfaction was: very good = 1,600, good = 693, poor = 50, very poor = 19, with a value of 87.48%. Furthermore, it was concluded that the medical record service in the outpatient registration section was very good, both in terms of clarity of information, speed of service and patient satisfaction. Abstract

EPOLIST is a healthy snack in the form of Epok Bilis (anchovies), typical food from the Riau islands with good nutritional content; it is believed to be able to increase the hemoglobin level of pregnant women with anemia in the archipelago region. This research was a quasi-experiment one group pre-test-post-test with a randomized block design. The sample consisted of 36 people. The inclusion criteria were multigravida pregnant women who were willing and working as housewives in the third trimester with anemia. The exclusion criteria were primigravida pregnant women and pregnant women with complications in pregnancy who were not present at the time of the study. Data were collected by conducting home visits for ten days. The research was conducted in the Tanjungpinang Health Center working area. The results showed that the average Hb level before administration was 9.7 g% with a standard deviation of 0.97 g%. The average Hb level after the intervention was 11.2 g% with a standard deviation of 1.28 g%. It can be seen that the mean difference between the first and second measurements was 1.5 g% with a standard deviation of 0.63 g%. The results of statistical tests obtained p value = 0.024 (p

Abstract

Ergonomic gymnastics is a practical and effective method to maintain a healthy body. The movements contained in ergonomic gymnastics are movements that are very effective, efficient, and logical because they use a series of movements that have been carried out by humans from the past until now. Ergonomic gymnastic movements are in accordance with the rules of body creation, and are inspired by the "prayer" movement in Islam. This study aims to determine the effect of ergonomic exercise on uric acid levels in the elderly with gout at "Rumah Bahagia Bintan", Indonesia. The design of this research was one group pretest-posttest. Research respondents were 16 elderly who were selected by total population sampling technique. In the phase before and after the intervention, blood uric acid levels were measured. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by paired sample t-test. The results of the analysis showed that the p value = 0.003, so it was interpreted that there was a difference in uric acid levels between before and after ergonomic exercise. Furthermore, it was concluded that ergonomic exercise was effective in reducing blood uric acid levels in the elderly with gout. Keywords: elderly; gout; blood uric acid; ergonomic exercise

Abstract

More than 90% of maternal deaths are caused by complications that often occur during or around childbirth. Reducing the incidence of childbirth complications requires the family's participation, especially the husband. The presence of the husband as a birth attendant is essential because it can create a sense of security, and comfort, increase the mother's confidence, reduce anxiety about the delivery process, reduce the intensity of labor pain, reduce labor complications, and speed up the delivery process. This research aims to find out the factors related to the husband's assistance in the delivery process. This study was analytic observational with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted on Penyengat Island, Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands Province, on 39 husbands of normal delivery mothers using questionnaires and observation sheets. The Chi-square statistical test with a significant degree of 95% (α 0.05) was used for data analysis. There is a significant relationship between knowledge (p = 0.027), attitude (p = 0.004) and motivation (p = 0.047) with husband's assistance in childbirth. There was no relationship between the factors of age (p = 0.555), occupation (p = 0.357) and education (p = 0.287) with husband's assistance in the delivery process. The study concludes that husbands can provide good delivery assistance if their knowledge, attitudes, and motivation are also good, regardless of their educational background, age, and occupation. It is recommended that special guidelines are needed to increase the husband's participation in childbirth assistance. Abstract

Previous research reported that the phenol coefficient of a sample of betel leaf decoction disinfectant was only 0.3-0.5 ppm, because this compound evaporates easily with heat treatment. Therefore, in this research, a viscous extract from green betel leaves was carried out. Thus, it is necessary to characterize the condensed extract of green betel leaves from Kijang, Bintan Regency, Indonesia, which is used in the manufacture of mouthwash preparations. Based on the results of qualitative tests, the thick extract of green betel leaves contains tannins, saponins and flavonoids. Based on quantitative tests, it was found that the thick betel leaf extract contained 61.9032 ppm of antioxidants, 524.8148 ppm of flavonoids (0.53%), 219.44 ppm of tannins (0.22%), 3213.33 ppm of total phenols (3 .21%) and saponins 2542.22 ppm (2.54%) from 100 g sample. The content of these compounds can be used as part of herbal mouthwash formulas. Keywords: green betel leaf; extract; mouthwash
