Journal of Sustainable Community Development (JSCD) is published by Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen IPMI with a strong identity of blending the locally embedded and globally connected wisdom. JSCD is a biannual refereed journal concerned with the practice and processes of community development. It provides a forum for academics, practitioners and community representatives to explore issues and reflect on practices relating to the full range of community development activity. This journal is a peer-reviewed online journal dedicated to the publication of high-quality research focused on research, implementation of community development policy. The journal is an open access journal and accepting all papers on community engagement from Indonesia and overseas countries. The journal will emphasize the implementation of local wisdoms of Indonesia and also the blend with the global goals supporting the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

Abstract

Millennial generation contributes significantly to the Indonesian economy. This generation has successors who are called the Alfa generations who will inherit and succeed in reaching the Millennial generation. However, based on official Indonesian government data, it is proven that there are still many Alfa Generation children who are malnourished and have special stunting in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. This is allegedly due to lack of education of the millennial generation itself regarding malnutrition for children's development. Therefore, this Community Service activity is carried out to provide education for the older generation of Alfa which is mostly obtained from millennial generation. This social activity is carried out in the Church of St. Fransiskus Xaferius, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. This activity is conducted to educate their parents to be more concern about healthy lifestyles to update nutrition issues in Indonesia. This activity is useful to increase knowledge and awareness about the importance of a good lifestyle for ASAK (Ayo Sekolah Ayo Kuliah).

Abstract

SMEs in Indonesia have given a significant monetary contribution to the Indonesian economy. In our Community Development case study in Cianjur, some of the community members showed enthusiasm in SME business. In this study, the case was observed through Kue Basah Ny. Anong, which was the business’ brand name. In Indonesia itself, the obstacles of SME businesses were inefficient and ineffective business processes to enhance their business growth. These drawbacks were also found in Kue Basah Ny. Anong. These Community Development activities were held to improve their business process on operational, financial, marketing, and human resource aspects. Firstly, in the operational aspect, the activities were to improve food hygiene and standardization. Secondly, in the financial aspect, this Community Development project provided training and facilitation to make daily financial bookkeeping to monitor their business progress. In the marketing aspect, the assistance was to find other alternative marketing strategies to expand marketing through social media and WhatsApp. This tool was considered effective as the consumers in Cianjur possessed mobile phones. In the human resource aspect, training was provided to Mrs. Anong’s family members to promote their business and products to potential business partners and consumers. From the Community Development intervention, the impact was a better business model canvas and approach toward their customers and partners within six months of this Community Development project (one semester). The period of this Community Development project was from January to June 2020.

Abstract

Desa Cimanggu memiliki potensi sebagai destinasi wisata. Desa ini sendiri sebenarnya juga memiliki salah satu obyek wisata, yaitu Curug Rahong. Namun, sejauh ini Bumdes dan Pokdarwis Desa Cimanggu belum mampu menarik banyak wisatawan untuk datang di desa tersebut. Hal ini dikarenakan belum efektifnya kegiatan pemasaran yang dilakukan oleh Bumdes dan Pokdarwis Desa Cimanggu. Dikarenakan adanya permasalahan tersebut, tim pengabdian dari UPN “Veteran” Jakarta melakukan kegiatan pelatihan branding dan pemasaran digital untuk Bumdes dan Pokdarwis Desa Cimanggu. Pelatihan branding dan pemasaran digital untuk Bumdes dan Pokdarwis Desa Cimanggu dilakukan mulai dari 24 Juni 2020 hingga 10 Juli 2020. Pelatihan dilakukan secara daring melalui tatap maya dan diskusi dengan memanfaatkan platform Google Meet, mengingat tidak memungkinkan untuk melakukan kunjungan ke Desa Cimanggu dikarenakan adanya pandemi Covid – 19. Pelatihan tersebut dilakukan dalam 3 pertemuan, dan materi yang disampaikan adalah mengenai brand destinasi pariwisata, konsep branding dan promosi, serta marketing communication. Kedepannya sesudah pandemi Covid – 19 berakhir, pelatihan dapat dilanjutkan dengan lebih intensif melalui pertemuan tatap muka, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), dan latihan serta praktik lebih lanjut, sehingga pihak Bumdes dan Pokdarwis Desa Cimanggu dapat memiliki kapabilitas branding dan pemasaran digital yang lebih baik

Abstract

Laporan keuangan merupakan sebuah penggambaran kondisi keuangan suatu perusahaan. Dimana, didalamnya terdapat informasi yang sangat berguna bagi pihak-pihak yang berkepentingan dalam mengambil keputusan. Kendati demikian, masih banyak para pengambil keputusan yang tidak paham akan pentingnya memahami laporan keuangan, termasuk dasar-dasar akuntansi. Mengetahui hal tersebut, Sekolah Bisnis dan Manajemen– Institut Teknologi Bandung (SBM-ITB) bersama MarkPlus pada OMNI MBA Program 2020, membuat pelatihan Accounting in Marketing Perspective guna menciptakan calon manajer pemasaran yang berkualitas. Pelatihan ini berjalan lancar karena antusiasme yang kuat dari para peserta didik. Diharapkan melalui pelatihan ini, peserta didik dapat memahami materi yang disampaikan serta mengaplikasikannya ke dunia kerja.

Abstract

Risk can appear in any form such as environmental risk, business risk, and health and safety risk. Many companies especially in manufacturing sectors, they are generally familiar with the process of identification, evaluate and control the environmental, health and safety risk predominantly in operational level to keep their process safe for the people and environment. However, when it comes to business risk, the company's understanding, method, and level of implementation should be adjusted to achieve business objectives and fulfill requirements which implied in the new IS 9001:2018 quality standards. Although there are no special requirements for the organization to maintain or retain documented information related to addressing risks and opportunities, organizations can choose to do so and this will be influenced by the size and nature of the organization. Many organizations don’t have a clear understanding of maintaining and managing lists of business risks and opportunities properly. For this reason, equipping oneself with knowledge related to risk-based thinking and risk management is very important. The aim of the workshop is to improve understanding of Risk-Based Thinking in business processes related to their internal and external business context, specifically in risk identification, evaluating the risks that have been identified, managing the risks at every level effectively. The workshop is carried out in third stages: firstly facilitator explains the workshop material, followed by questions and answers, and finally, the workshop participants were involved in a risk identification and risk assessment simulation. The cognitive aspect of the participants was obtained through a pre-test and post-test, showed that understanding of risk-based thinking is increased, as well as the skill to use tools to be used to manage risk.

Abstract

Program kemitraan masyarakat ini dilakukan sebagai bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam rangka merespon kendala berkomunikasi yang dihadapi oleh para pengemudi taksi saat mendapatkan penumpang internasional. Sehingga program pendampingan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan , kompetensi d a n p er ca ya di ri para pengemudi taksi Blue Bird di wilayah DKI Jakarta dan sekitarnya agar mampu berkomunikasi dengan tepat melalui program pendampingan pelatihan Bahasa Inggris. Pada awalnya program pendampingan pelatihan Bahasa inggris ini dirancang sedemikian rupa dengan mengenalkan jenis-jenis ungkapan sederhana saat membuka percakapan, percakapan inti, meminta dan memberi informasi. Selain itu, pelatihan pengucapan/ pronounciation yang benar akan kosakata Bahasa inggris pun menjadi fokus dalam program ini mengingat salah satu kendala berbahasa adalah pelafalan kata yang kurang tepat sehingga memicu kesalah pahaman akan makna yang disampaikan. Diawal pelaksanaan program dilakukan secara tatap muka dengan mengenalkan jenis-jenis ungkapan sederhana yang biasa digunakan untuk menunjang profesi supir taksi. Namun, dengan merebaknya virus Covid-19 ditengah proses pembelajaran berlangsung, maka sistem pembelajaran pun beralih ke daring dengan menggunakan berbagai jenis kelas daring/ platform seperti Edmodo dan juga menggunakan platform video conference melalui Zoom. Adapun hasil pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan keterampilan dalam berkomunikasi para supir taksi menjadi lebih fasih, lancar , benar pada saat berkomunikasi dengan penumpang internasional.

Abstract

Krisis ekonomi yang dipicu oleh krisis kesehatan telah menciptakan banyak masalah bagi pelaku UKM di Indonesia. Berubahnya pola konsumsi masyarakat karena melemahnya daya beli konsumen diikuti dengan ketakutan mengkonsumsi sejumlah produk karena virus COVID-19, memunculkan gelombang penutupan usaha pada berbagai skala, dari mikro hingga besar. Sektor usaha kuliner salah satunya. Usaha nasi minyak yang merupakan makanan khas Jambi turut merasakan dampak tersebut. Berubahnya kondisi memaksa UKM tersebut mengubah cara pemasaran agar dapat bertahan. Cara luring dengan pengemasan produk seadanya tidak dapat dipertahankan, jika ingin bertransformasi dengan cara daring. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan untuk membantu UKM binaan agar dapat bertahan dalam situasi saat ini melalui pengembangan kemasan produk. Kemasan produk yang bagus dapat dimanfaatkan untuk aktivitas pemasaran daring, yang diperkirakan akan semakin intens pemanfaatannya sekalipun pandemi telah berakhir.
