Abstract

Multifunctional attractor technology is a technology of enriching fish resource stock in a water. This research aims to calculate and analyze the structure of coral fish communities associated in the waters of Kahyapu Village, Enggano Island, Bengkulu. The research was conducted in March-April 2020. The data was collected using Underwater Visual Census (UVC) techniques and underwater camera using SCUBA equipment. The method used in this study was a survey method. The relationship between reef fish abudance and immersiontime in multifunction attractor technology was analyzed by simple linier regression. It found 1.041 individuals from 43 species of 15 coral fish families associated with, consisting of 13 target fish species, 5 species of indicator fish, and 25 species of major fish groups. The composition of the species was found species with highest number of individuals from Dascyllus trimaculatus of 11,82%. Abundance of coral fish (X) amounts to 1,19 individuals/m3. The value of the diversity index was (H’) 3,25. The evenness index (E) value was 0,863. Meanwhile, the dominant index value (C) was in the range of 0,0019-0,2363. The value of the three indexes are high diversity and evenness but no fish dominates. The result of a simple linear regression analysis was Y=1,3639x+130,89 (R2=0,0807, r=0,284, F=0,439, and Ftable=6,61). Water parameters at the research location are very suitable for the life of coral biota.

Abstract

Echinoderms are fundamentally good indicators of health and status of coralline communities in marine waters. Substrat of sandy, rububle, and coral reefs are good habitat for Asteroidea, Echinoidea, and Holothuroidea. This study aims to identify sea star (Asteroidea), sea urchin (Echinoidea), and sea cucumber (Holothuroidea) species from Tunda Island waters of Serang. Asteroidea and Echinoidea observed using the line transect method used, through subjects observation within the same distance between the transect and the transect square with observations of 2.5 m on the right and left of line transect. Observations of the habitat covered substrate and depth, while the total number of sea stars, sea urchins, and sea cucumbers at each station were recorded, which were then documented and identified based on their morphological characteristics. The waters on Tunda Island found 2 species of the Asteroidea class, namely Linckia laevigata and Culcita novaeguneae, 3 species of Echinoidea Diadema antilarum, Diadema setosum, Echinomerta mathaei, and 3 species of Holothuroidea Holothuria atra, Holothuria leucospilota, Bohadschia graeffei.

Abstract

Perairan Kabupaten Cirebon merupakan salah satu wilayah yang banyak menghasilkan kekerangan, yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi dan banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pertumbuhan dan indeks kondisi kerang batik yang ada di Perairan Cirebon. Metode penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif, melalui pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan metode survei. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari-April 2020 di perairan Cirebon. Lokasi diperairan Cirebon dibagi menjadi tiga yang dianggap mewakili masing-masing wilayah, perairan Mundu, perairan Bondet, dan perairan Playangan. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis morfometrik dan indeks kondisi kerang. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa pertumbuhan kerang batik bersifat allometrik negatif dan indeks kondisi kerang dalam keadaan kecil dan sedang.

Abstract

The presence of parasites has a negative effect on catfish (Clarias sp.) in the form of disease in its host. Parasites based on their environment or habitat can be divided into two, namely ectoparasites (parasites that live on the outer body surface of the host) and endoparasites (parasites that live inside the host’s body). This study aims to identify the type and analyze the prevalence level of parasites infecting catfish in the Fish Farms in Balunijuk Village and Petaling Banjar Village, Bangka Regency. This research was conducted in October-November 2020. The method used was a descriptive survey in the form of a purposive sampling method. Fish samples were taken from two stations, with each station taking two samples. Twenty fish samples were taken at each station. The results showed that there were 4 identified parasitic phyla, i.e. phylum Ciliophora consisted of Vorticella sp. and Stylonychia sp., Phylum Protozoa consisting of Blastodiniidae. Phylum Platyhelminthes consisting of Dactylogyrus sp., Gyrodactylus sp., and Ligula intestinalis., Phylum Nemathelminthes consisting of Camallanidae. The results showed that the highest prevalence level was found in Dactylogyrus sp., while the highest level of intensity and dominance was found in Blastodiniidae.

Abstract

Perikanan tangkap cumi-cumi telah mengalami peningkatan sangat pesat di Indonesia. Kapal pancing cumi-cumi memiliki alat bantu penangkapan lampu dengan daya relatif besar. Biasanya kapal memakai lampu Metal Halide (MH) yang berjumlah 16-20 unit (dengan daya 24-30 kW). Lampu MH membutuhkan energi yang cukup besar dan berpengaruh terhadap kebutuhan bahan bakar minyak yang tinggi. Untuk itu diperlukan altenatif lampu yang lebih hemat energi yaitu Light Emitting Diode (LED). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membuat rancangan lampu LED cumi-cumi yang aplikatif untuk diterapkan di kapal pancing cumi-cumi. Pendekatan yang dilakukan adalah dengan merancang bangun lampu LED cumi-cumi yang mampu mendekati sifat dan karakteristik utama lampu MH yang saat ini digunakan. Rancangan konseptual rangkaian lampu LED cumi-cumi dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan semua materi yang terkait dengan sifat cahaya lampu LED dan ketertarikan dari cumi-cumi pada lampu LED warna biru. Kemudian, dilakukan penentuan sebaran cahaya lampu MH dan LED cumi-cumi, serta pemilihan jenis bahan material yang sesuai agar lampu LED bisa stabil. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian berupa pengukuran suhu dan iluminasi cahaya pada tiap chips LED terlihat stabil hingga akhir pengamatan. Sebaran intensitas cahaya lampu LED cumi-cumi hanya berkurang 10,57%. Hasil rancang bangun LED dapat diterapkan pada perikanan cumi-cumi sebagai alternatif pengganti lampu MH.

Abstract

Penyediaan perbekalan melaut merupakan salah satu aktivitas ekonomi yang penting dalam menentukan usaha penangkapan ikan dan pengolahan hasil tangkapan terutama pada kapal yang melaut dalam waktu yang relatif lama. Kapal yang melaut pada waktu yang lama sering mengalami kekurangan perbekalan, sehingga mempengaruhi kegiatan penangkapan bahkan hasil tangkapan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari-Maret 2020 yang bertempat di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Muara Angke, Kota Jakarta, Provinsi DKI Jakarta yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis kebutuhan perbekalan pada unit penangkapan bouke ami, menghitung jumlah aktual kebutuhan perbekalan pada unit penangkapan bouke ami dan menentukan sistem penanganan perbekalan pada unit penangkapan bouke ami. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan teknik wawancara dan kuesioner. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis kebutuhan perbekalan pada unit penangkapan bouke ami yaitu, solar, oli, minyak, air bersih, beras, gula pasir, wortel, kol, labu, teh, kopi, mie instant, obat-obatan, gas, dan rokok. Jumlah aktual kebutuhan perbekalan unit penangkapan bouke ami disebabkan oleh faktor jumlah ABK, ukuran GT kapal, daerah penangkapan ikan, dan lama melaut. Sistem penanganan masing-masing perbekalan beras, sayuran, mie instan disimpan di palka berpendingin agar tidak mudah busuk, sedangkan oli, solar diletakkan di belakang kapal, dan obat-obatan, gula, kopi, dan rokok diletakkan di kamar nakhoda.

Abstract

The fisheries sector has a strategic role in national development. WPP 572 and 573 are the broad waters and located in the Indian ocean. This area has a quiet fish potential, especially from group of pelagic fishes as skipjack tuna, bigeye tuna, mackerel scad, yellowfin tuna, Indian mackerel, and mackerel tuna. However, in terms of utilization of fish resources, WPP 572 and 573 are currently experiencing a fully exploited period, especially for small and large pelagic fish. One of the methods to overcome fully exploited conditions is by managing the limitation on the size of fish that are fit to be caught. The method used in this research was a descriptive method. The sample was taken based on the purposive sampling method, by taking several types of fish caught according to their respective types which were considered to represent all the fish that had been caught. The number of fish samples adjusts to the capacity of the large pan which contains 18-20 large fish, and 50-100 small fish. The total number of catches was 75,878 kg. The main catch was 57,435 kg and bycatch was 18,443 kg. Percentage of catches were skipjack tuna (72% feasible, 28% unfit), baby tuna (100% unfit), yellowfin tuna (51% feasible, 49% unfit), mackerel scad, mackerel tuns, dolphinfish, and other fish (100% feasible). The whole fish caught in KM Bintang Sampurna-B according to the number of samples measured shows that 74% are fit to catch and 26% are not fit to be caught.

Abstract

Handlines are a fishing gear that is commonly used by fishermen in Banten Bay. However, the catches obtained by fishermen are few. This is because of the lack of information about the potential fishing ground that fishermen have. One of the methods to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of fishing operation is the information about the availability of fishing ground. The used of portable FADs (Fish Aggregating Devices) technology is expected to create a fishing ground so that fishing operation become more effective and efficient. The research purpose is to compare the productivity and composition of handline catching by using and without portable FAD and to determine the effectiveness of portable FAD. The method used was an experimental fishing method with 20 trips. Research showed that the dominant catches of handline fishing with portable FADs were goatfish, bream, black grouper, mackerel. Goatfish, bream, and black grouper were dominated by large sizes. The total catch of handline was 931 fish. The composition of the catch with the portable FAD was 504 of fish, while without the portable FAD was 427 of fish. The productivity of handline with portable FAD was 1.29 kg/trip, while the productivity of handline without FAD was 0.99 kg/trip. Portable FAD use during fishing operations was more effective compare to fishing operations without portable FADs.

Abstract

Grey eel-tailed catfish (Plotosus canius) is one species of consumption fish that is quite popular in coastal communities. This study aims to analyze reproduction of the fish. Sampling was conducted monthly in Majakerta coastal area, Indramayu, West Java from February to April 2015. The total of samples observed were 98 fish, consisting of 65 males and 33 females. The observation was employed for sex ratio, gonad maturity stage, gonado somatic index, the size at first maturity, fecundity, and egg diameter of the fish. The result of this research shows that sex ratio of the fish was 2:1. Immature-mature fishes were found in each month. The size of first gonad maturity of the fish was 281 and 308,6 mm for male and female, respectively. Fecundity was 564-864, and according to oocyte diameter distribution, the fish was a partial spawner.

Abstract

Perairan Aceh bagian Barat terletak di bagian Timur Samudera Indonesia. Kawasan ini merupakan perairan yang dinamis karena merupakan bagian dari perairan Indonesia yang terletak di antara dua benua dan dua samudera. Konsentrasi klorofil-a bervariasi secara bulanan di perairan ini. Penelitian ini mengamati variasi konsentrasi klorofil-a berdasarkan sirkulasi angin muson. Analisis konsentrasi klorofil-a dapat digunakan untuk membantu perkiraan produktivitas sebuah perairan. Kami menemukan bahwa konsentrasi klorofil-a di Monsun Barat lebih tinggi daripada di Monsun Timur. Sebaliknya, konsentrasi klorofil-a di Monsun Timur lebih rendah dibandingkan di Monsun Barat.
