Indonesian Journal of Islamic Economics and Business E-ISSN: 2540-9506 P-ISSN: 2540-9514 is the journal that concerns to publish broader issues on Islamic Economics and Business. It based on the presupposition that Islamic economics and Business is still on going process to be established. There is a need to serious study on not only limited to Islamic banking and financing system but also on philosophy, politic, environment, law, culture, ethics, management and entrepreneurship of ‘Islamic Economics’. The journal aimed at bridging and solving the dichotomy between ‘orthodox’ and ‘heterodox’ problems of Islamic economics. So, the journal invites scholars who interesting in Islamic economics and Business contributes to submit their research article.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of marketing mix strategies consisting of price, product, place, and promotion on the level of company profit, especially in the sales of non-diesel oil at PT Andalas Sukses Jambi. The method used is triangulation and descriptive qualitative methods with the purposive samplingmethod. The results showed that the Marketing Mix Strategy in increasing the company's profit PT. Patra Andalas Sukses Jambi, however, the decline in profitsthat occurred in the company was a result of the increased portion of accounts receivable in the balance sheet

Abstract

This paper aims to reveal (1) to find out the average monthly income of scavengers in 2016 (2) to determine the average monthly consumption of scavengers in 2016 (3) to see if there is a relationship between the level of income and consumption of scavengers on the saving behavior of scavengers. This research is a field research with a population of people or scavengers in Kampung Legok, Jambi City. The technique of sampling is the Slovin technique. The number of samples in this study were 34 scavengers. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire. The average monthly income of scavengers in Kampung Legok, Jambi City is Rp. 1,325,000, while the highest monthly income is Rp. 1,650,000, then the lowest monthly income is Rp. 980,000 and the overall income of scavengers in Legok Village, Jambi City is Rp. 45,050,000. The average consumption of scavengers in Kampung Legok, Jambi City per month is Rp. 1,277,000, while the highest monthly income is Rp. 1,500,000, then the lowest income is Rp. 10,300,000 and the overall income of scavengers in Kampung Legok, Jambi City is Rp. 43,420,000. The level of income and consumption of scavengers is known after a correlation test is carried out that the income is 1,000 and the consumption is 5.86 with a significant number of 0,000, so there is no significant relationship between the level of income and consumption of scavengers with the saving behavior of scavengers in Kampung Legok, Jambi City.

Abstract

This paper aims to reveal the effectiveness of online services carried out by Jelutung Syariah Pegadaian through the Mobile application of Pegadaian Syariah Digital Services (PSDS) in increasing the number of customers. This descriptive qualitative data collection method through observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research results, the effectiveness of PSDS services is reviewed through 7 dimensions, namely efficiency, reliability, fulfillment, privacy, responsiveness, compensation, and contact. Of the seven dimensions, there are 3 dimensions that have not been maximally achieved, namely efficiency, reliability, and responsiveness. Meanwhile, to achieve this effectiveness, it is reviewed from the implementation of its management function which consists of planning, organizing, actuating, controlling. Which has been going well under the direct leadership of the head of the Jelutung Sharia Pegadaian branch. Then regarding the increase in the number of customers that occurred, it was not that many but had met expectations, namely targeting customers at a young age or millennials.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the development of the Wood Root Carving Industry in Pulau Betung Village, Pemayung District, Batanghari Regency. The data collection techniques in this study are using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The data analysis used is the SWOT analysis. The results show that the obstacles in the development of the Wood Root Carving Industry in Pulau Betung Village are the quality of marketing and the sustainability of production. As for the opportunity factor in the Wood Root Carving Industry is still accepted by the market outside the city, the sale of carvings is still profitable. The craftmans have passion in learning to carve and and how to sell it. It can be concluded that an alternative development strategy that can be done for the development of the Wood Root Carving Industry in Pulau Betung Village, Pemayung District, Batanghari Regency is to take advantage of existing opportunities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the plannning, implementing, evaluating and controlling of village fund allocation. The method used is descriptive qualitative through observation, interviews, and documentation on the primary data, namely village officials in Teluk Langkap village. Based on the results of the analysis, the sorting and grouping of data shows that the main obstacle is the lack of quality of human resources in terms of knowledge and understanding of laws and the lack of socialization of training and assistance to village officials, guidance is needed in village financial administration so that management is right in the direction. In general, the allocation of village funds can improve the economy of the residents but does not always run smoothly,such as planning for budget allocations that do not go through a joint village forum(musrenbang)

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the determinant of organizational commitment, compensation and transformational leadership in PTPN IV Jambi. This research uses primary sources by distributing questionaire to its employees,The sample used in this research were employees of PTPN IV – Jambi. The sampling technique was conducted using Random Sampling. quantitavie approach with regression analisys is used to describe the determinant of each variables. The result show that thitung for organizational commitment is 2,814 with significant value 0,006, the for transformtional leadership Thitung is 2,831 with significant value 0,006, and for thitung for compensation is 2,737 with significant value 0,000 smaller than 0,05. its mean all avariables are significant and positively have effect to employe performance in PTPN IV Jambi.

Abstract

Muaro Jambi Temple is a tourist attraction that has its own uniqueness and historical heritage that still exists in Jambi Province, although previously it was not separated from the restoration process. As time goes on, more and more traders in the tourist area of Muaro Jambi Temple where there are changes, have a broad influence on the mindset of the people of Sebapo Village. The effect of the environmental conditions of the temple can change the mindset of the community in several ways, the economic, social and cultural conditions of the surrounding communities in the tourist area. especially the residents of Sebapo village. This study aims: 1) to determine the effect of the existence of Muaro Jambi Temple on merchant behavior, 2) to determine the change in the mindset of traders in Sebapo village with the existence of Muaro Jambi Temple. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The subjects used in the study were members of the Sebo village community, because most of the people depend on their income in Muaro Jambi Temple. Data collection techniques used are direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis of the interactive model. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: 1) The social influence of the existence of Muaro Jambi temple on the Sebapo village community, namely: a) the influence of a mindset that causes good social interaction between traders and traders, traders with park managers and traders with tourists through two the process of social contact and social communication and b) the existence of the temple tourism object is used by the community to open as wide a business as possible to create jobs that absorb a lot of labor so as to reduce unemployment, 2) the influence of the existence of the Muaro Jambi temple on the Sebapo village community, namely: a ) the expansion of business opportunities, b) changing the behavior patterns of the community to open jobs, c) increasing the economic income of the people around the temple.

Abstract

Travelling is culture beyond millenials, and It has a significant effect on tourism industry and country’s income. This paper aims to analyze the travelling culture based on islamic perspective and give the views by using maqoshid syariahs perspective. It may describe the comprehensive description by dividing maqoshids perspective into five categories, they are religion, self, intellect, family and wealth. Qualitative approach with content analysis is used in this research to analyze the connectivity between travelling culture and maqoshid. The results of this study attempt to describe traveling into the five maqoshids, namely religion, soul, mind. descent and property as traveling that brings mashlahah. Traveling which contains mudharat is religious traveling that contains of shirk, travel to unbeliver countries, travel to immoral places, tours of women without mahroms and tours of non-believers to Islamic countries with the aim of colonialism. This research also divides tourism based on the level of importance such as dhoruriyyah, haajiyah and tahsiniyyah.

Abstract

Halal industry is growing with hijrah tren in Indonesia, one of its products is veil or hijab. In Jambi city it has born many shops with varian brands, such as Zoya, Pashima, and Rabbani. This paper aims to determine the effect of the Merk, Word of Mouth and Products Quality toward consumer decision to buy Rabbani’s Product in Jambi city. The type of research is explanatory, data were collected using interviews questionnaires, cluster sampling technique with the amount of samples 100. Data were analyzed through validity test, reliability test, correlation coefficient, determination coefficient, multiple linear regression, t test and F test data were analyzed quantitatively using SPSS. The result shows that merk, product quality and word of mouth are significantly affected to customer decision to buy product in Rabbani Jambi

Abstract

The snacks' traditional ancestral heritage from an ancient tradition that has value in the culture of Indonesia. The era of globalization affects a person's lifestyle so that the public will follow the trend of including in the Affairs of food. With a large number of diverse snacks food immediacy from abroad with all the innovation sense and shape, making it increasingly attractive to the present traditional society and leave traditional snacks in history. This research aims to know the relationship of demographic variables against the interest in buying traditional snacks in the district of Yogyakarta Kingdom. These studies use quantitative methods in which data collection is done by a questionnaire and interviews to all walks of life in the district of Kraton Yogyakarta so that it is able to multiply and analyze information more deeply about the relationship demographic variables of interest to buy against traditional snacks. The demographic variables used in this research are gender, age, level of education, occupation, income, lifestyle, and cultural reference groups. In General, the results of the study indicate that there is a relationship between variables – variables demographics towards an interest in buying the traditional snacks in the district of Yogyakarta Kingdom. Specifically, the variables have a relationship are variable is the work while the variable gender, the variables age, the variable education level, the variable income, the variable lifestyle, the variables reference groups and the variable cultural have weak relationships with interest to buy traditional snacks in the district of Yogyakarta Kingdom
