Abstract

Waste is discarded or unused materials resulting from human activities, whether at the household, industrial, or mining scales. At certain concentrations, the presence of waste can negatively impact the environment and human health, so proper waste management is necessary. Household waste is waste originating from kitchens, bathrooms, laundry, leftover household industry materials, and human feces. Excessive household waste, if left unattended, has high potential to pollute and poison the environment. Household waste management aims to prevent environmental contamination which could interfere with public health. Method: This paper is a literature study from various sources and references regarding waste. Results: Solid waste originating from household waste includes both organic and inorganic waste. There are three types of waste processing: physical processing, chemical processing, and biological processing. Environmental pollution due to household waste has encompassed all elements including air, water, and soil. Conclusion: Proper household waste processing is essential to prevent environmental contamination. Good household waste management should be tailored to the type of household waste generated.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop teaching material regarding research design in the Electronic Module-based Research Methodology course which consists of problems, theoretical basis, hypothesis submission, research methods and to find out the value of the effectiveness of electronic module teaching materials through limited distribution. This study uses a research and development research method (R&D) with the Thiagarajan 4D model. The results of the validation by material experts were 0,94 in the very high category, while the results of the validation by the media experts were 0,89 in the very high category. The limited trial results showed an increase in the average value of the pre test by 62,45 and post test by 78,53. Therefore, it can be concluded that the electronic module teaching materials for this electronic module can increase understanding in terms of material and are declared fit for use in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pattern of trip generation in the Universitas Palangka Raya area in order to identify the faculty with the highest level of activity and to determine the most optimal time characteristics of facility usage. The research method employed is descriptive quantitative, using a survey technique through the distribution of questionnaires to five observed faculties, namely the Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), and Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). The results indicate that faculties with larger population sizes tend to generate higher levels of trip generation. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) is identified as the faculty with the highest trip generation, which is consistent with its larger number of students, lecturers, and administrative staff compared to other faculties. The findings also show that the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences exhibits the highest level of activity movement, predominantly dominated by the age group under 21 years. It can be concluded that the most optimal activity period within the Universitas Palangka Raya area occurs during peak academic hours

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing young drivers’ behavior in Palangka Raya. Young drivers are considered a vulnerable group in traffic due to limited driving experience, emotional instability, and insufficient understanding of traffic regulations, which may lead to risky driving behavior. This research adopts the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework, focusing on knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control as the main influencing factors.The study employed a quantitative descriptive approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 young drivers aged 15– 24 years. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS software. Instrument validity and reliability tests, as well as classical assumption tests, were conducted to ensure data accuracy. The results indicate that knowledge, attitude, and perceived behavioral control have a significant positive effect on young drivers’ behavior, while subjective norms do not have a significant effect. Simultaneously, all independent variables significantly influence young drivers’ behavior. These findings suggest that improving young drivers’ behavior requires enhancing traffic safety knowledge, fostering positive attitudes toward safe driving, and strengthening self-control while driving.

Abstract

Traffic movement problems often occur during peak hours in the morning to evening in Tasikmalaya City, as happened at the intersection of Ahmad Yani Street-Mohammad Hatta Street. The dense traffic flow at the intersection is due to Ahmad Yani Street-Mohammad Hatta Street is a connecting road between Ciamis Regency and Tasikmalaya City, this road is one of the accesses to the center of the economy, offices, to education. The condition of Ahmad Yani Street-Mohammad Hatta Street which is often traversed by large to small vehicles adds to the traffic density on the road. Gap acceptance is a state when the driver feels that he can safely perform the movement of joining the mainstream. While gap rejection is a situation when the driver slows down the speed of his vehicle due to a gap that is too small so he has to wait to be able to join the main stream. From the results of the study for 16 days obtained a critical gap value at the intersection of Ahmad Yani Street-Mohammad Hatta Street amounted to 7.50 seconds and the delay time to the crossing conflict at the intersection of three no signal using the gap acceptance method is equal to 12,37 seconds. Meanwhile, with the Indonesian Road Capacity Guideline Method 2023, a delay value of 10,01 seconds/SMP is obtained.
