Abstract

People with bipolar disorder experience anxiety disorders in 90% of cases. Anxiety disorders are comorbid disorders and can exacerbate the condition of people with bipolar disorder. Anxiety arises because of stimuli that are interpreted as danger or threats by people with bipolar disorder. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) on reducing anxiety levels in patients with bipolar affective disorder at the Mental Health Clinic of Dr. MM Dunda Limboto General Hospital. The study design is a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consists of all patients with bipolar affective disorder, and the sample size, determined using purposive sampling, is 30 respondents. The data were analyzed using a paired t-test. The results of the study showed that the significance value (p-value) was 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that there is an effect of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) on reducing anxiety levels in patients with bipolar affective disorder at the Psychiatric Clinic of Dr. MM Dunda Limboto General Hospital. The results of the study are expected to be applied in reducing anxiety levels in patients with bipolar disorder.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of socio-demographic factors—including education level, labor force participation rate (LFPR), and population size—on economic growth in Gorontalo Province during the 2020–2024 period. The study uses secondary data obtained from the official publications of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Gorontalo Province. Data analysis was conducted using a panel data model with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach through the Eviews 12 software. The results show that, partially, education level and population size have a positive and significant effect on economic growth, while the LFPR has no significant effect. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly influence economic growth, with the model contributing 99.9%. These findings indicate that improving education quality and strengthening the structure of the productive-age population are crucial factors in driving economic growth in Gorontalo Province. Meanwhile, the high LFPR has not yet provided optimal impact because most of the workforce is still absorbed in low-productivity sectors. This study is expected to serve as a basis for local governments in formulating economic development policies oriented toward improving human resource quality and effectively leveraging the demographic bonus.

Abstract

Sexual violence against children and adolescents is a serious problem that continues to increase and requires special attention from various parties, including educational institutions. One form of violence that is often unaware of is child grooming, which is the perpetrator's attempt to build emotional closeness with the victim as the first step towards sexual violence. Adolescents' knowledge of child grooming plays an important role in shaping a preventive attitude towards such actions. This study aims to determine the relationship between adolescents' knowledge about child grooming and attitudes to prevent sexual violence at SMAN 2 Gorontalo. This study is a quantitative research with a Cross-Sectional approach. The population in this study amounted to 1,147 respondents and a sample of 297 respondents using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. This research instrument uses a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rho test. The results of the study obtained a P-Value = <0.001 (< ? (0.05) with a correlation value of 0.527, which means that there is a significant and quite strong relationship between adolescents' knowledge of child grooming and sexual violence prevention attitudes at SMAN 2 Gorontalo. This research is expected to be a reference and can be developed for future research, especially in examining other factors that can affect attitudes to prevent sexual violence.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically analyze the effect of Return on Equity (ROE), Operating Ratio, Cash Ratio, Collection Efficiency, and Solvency on the performance of Regional Drinking Water Companies (PDAM) in Central Sulawesi Province. The study emerges from a research gap in previous literature, where some studies emphasize the importance of profitability and liquidity, while others indicate that operational factors and collection efficiency contribute more dominantly to the performance of regional water utilities. The research data were obtained from PDAM financial reports recorded at BPPSPAM for the period 2018–2023 and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The analysis results indicate that, simultaneously, all financial variables have a significant effect on PDAM performance, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.686. Partially, Operating Ratio and Collection Efficiency exert a positive and significant influence, whereas ROE, Cash Ratio, and Solvency do not show a significant effect. These findings confirm that cost efficiency and effective billing processes are key determinants in enhancing PDAM performance. Practically, the results provide implications for PDAM management to focus strategies on controlling operational costs, improving billing system quality, and strengthening financial governance to support the sustainability of clean water service provision.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically examine the effect of profit and operational performance of Regionally-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) on Regional Original Revenue (PAD) in Badung Regency. This study is based on a research gap in previous studies. Some studies place BUMD profit as the dominant factor in increasing PAD, while others emphasize that operational aspects and management efficiency of regional companies contribute more significantly to increasing regional revenue. The data used in this study comes from the financial reports of BUMDs in Badung Regency for the 2019–2023 period and were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 27 software. The analysis results indicate that profit and operational performance simultaneously have a significant effect on Badung Regency's PAD, as reflected in the coefficient of determination (R²), which indicates the model's ability to explain variations in PAD between periods. Partially, operational performance is proven to have a positive and significant effect on PAD, while profit shows a positive but insignificant effect. These findings confirm that the effectiveness of BUMD operational management plays a greater role than accounting profit in driving PAD growth. Practically, the results of this study provide implications for local governments and BUMD management to place greater emphasis on strategies to increase operational efficiency, strengthen corporate management practices, and optimize service quality in order to maximize BUMD's contribution to PAD and support sustainable regional economic development.

Abstract

his study examines the implementation of the Fath Game Hijaiyah card media in an effort to improve the Quranic reading skills of eighth-grade students at SMPN 2 Segeri, Pangkep Regency. The main issues raised were their low Quranic reading skills, particularly in recognizing similar hijaiyah letters, pronouncing letters according to makhraj and basic tajweed, and low motivation due to monotonous learning methods. This study aims to describe students' initial Quranic reading skills, explain the process of implementing the Fath Game Hijaiyah in learning, and identify obstacles and solutions in its implementation. The study used a Classroom Action Research design with three cycles, each encompassing planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 20 eighth-grade students at SMPN 2 Segeri, selected as a whole class. Data were collected through observations of teacher and student activities, documentation, and a Quranic reading achievement test that assessed aspects of fluency, fluency, and the application of several basic tajweed rules. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively to describe the learning process and changes in learning behavior, and quantitatively to analyze test scores for each cycle. The results showed that in the pre-cycle, only 25% of students achieved mastery, while 75% remained in the incomplete category. After implementing the Fath Game Hijaiyah in cycle I, learning mastery increased to 40%, then further increased to 70% in cycle II, and reached 100% in cycle III. This improvement was reflected in students' ability to distinguish the hijaiyah letters, read more fluently, and reduce basic tajweed errors. From a process perspective, the use of the Fath Game Hijaiyah successfully created a more enjoyable, interactive, and collaborative learning environment, significantly increasing students' motivation and confidence in reading the Quran. Challenges that arose included limited media, differences in students' initial abilities, and learning time allocation. These challenges were addressed through the addition of card sets, study grouping, and more effective time and classroom management. Thus, the Fath Game Hijaiyah has proven effective as an innovative medium for improving the Quranic reading skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a major public health problem in tropical regions, with high morbidity and mortality rates. In Boalemo Regency, Gorontalo Province, DHF cases increased from 2021 to 2024, with a total of 536 cases and 10 deaths. This condition is suspected to be influenced by environmental factors, including population density, air temperature, and rainfall. This study aimed to analyze the spatial distribution patterns of DHF cases and their relationship with environmental factors. This study employed a quantitative approach with spatial analysis based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Data were obtained from relevant institutions, with a sample of 230 DHF cases. The analysis included mapping case distribution, Spearman's Rank correlation test, and Moran's Index calculation to identify spatial endemicity patterns. The findings indicated that population density had no significant association with DHF cases (p = 0.538>0.05). Conversely, air temperature showed a significant positive association with DHF cases (p = 0.024 <0.05). Rainfall also demonstrated a significant positive association with DHF cases (p < 0.05). In conclusion, this study highlights the role of climatic factors, particularly rainfall, in the increase of DHF cases in Boalemo Regency. These findings may serve as a basis for local governments to develop more effective DHF prevention and control strategies by considering environmental and climatic factors.
