Abstract

Food security is one of the goals that must be maintained during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the current economic conditions have led to a reduction in people's income due to a decrease in productive business activities, resulting in an increase in unemployment and poverty. This is quite worrying for the government in the event of a food crisis in the future. Tulang Bawang Regency is one of the areas that has felt the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, this study aims to determine the description of food security in Tulang Bawang Regency and the variables that influence it. The results of the multinomial logistic regression analysis found that a small number of household members, a high education of the head of the household, as well as a non-poor poverty condition will increase the chances of the household being food secure.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of modernity of rice farmers, identify agricultural modernization processes that encourage the modernity of rice farmers, and identify obstacles (structural and cultural) that hinder the modernity of rice farmers. This research was conducted in Timusu Village, Liliriaja District, Soppeng Regency, South Sulawesi. This research approach is a quantitative approach using survey methods through direct interviews with rice farmers and filling out questionnaires. The measurement of modernity uses the Likert scale and the data analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis.  Based on the results of the Likert scale analysis on the level of modernity of rice farmers measured through fourteen indicators, an average total score of 147 and an average index of 69.95% were obtained, meaning that the level of modernity of rice farmers is in the high category. Agricultural modernization occurs when rice farming communities see farmers in other regions using modern agricultural technology. The presence of the use of modern agricultural technology can facilitate and speed up the completion of work. This encourages the modernity of rice farmers who are always interested in trying new things, as well as accepting change. The social relations and way of life of farmers began to change and adapt to today's connections and way of life.  The barriers to modernity of rice farmers are divided into two parts: structural barriers and cultural barriers. Structural obstacles are caused by the narrow area of arable land and the institutional role of farmer groups is lacking in the management of alsintan use. Meanwhile, cultural barriers are caused by low farmer education and aging of farmers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between product attributes and the purchase decision process for Juragan ground coffee products in Kubu Raya Regency. Respondents amounted to 50 people who were carried out by accidental sampling. The data analysis technique used is the Spearman rank test with SPSS 21 software. The results showed that the product attribute variables that had a relationship with the purchasing decision process of Juragan ground coffee products were product quality, packaging and price, while the brand had no relationship with the purchasing decision process of Juragan ground coffee products in Kubu Raya Regency. This means that more attractive packaging and having good product quality and affordable prices will make consumers make purchasing decisions for Juragan ground coffee products in Kubu Raya Regency.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) analyze the factors that influence Keprasan sugar cane farming income as well as; (2) the level of risk of income and costs in Keprasan sugar cane farming. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression with the Cobb-Douglass function model approach and coefficient of variation (CV) analysis. Factors significantly influencing Keprasan sugar cane farming income include production variables, P fertilizer, K fertilizer, and pesticides. The income risk faced by farmers is based on the CV calculation results, the CV value is 0.97, which means the opportunity for losses that sugar cane farmers must bear is 0.97 IDR/Ha. The CV value of 0.97 indicates the criteria are more than 0.5 and the L value is less than 0, which means that the risk of sugarcane farming income is categorized as a high-risk farming business.

Abstract

Rice is the basic food product consumed by every Indonesian citizen. Tempuran and Pedes sub-districts are the areas that contribute to the highest rice production in Karawang Regency. The instability of rice production in Karawang Regency is due to problems such as the narrowing land area due to land conversion, limited use of subsidized fertilizers, and expensive pesticide prices. The Makmur programme is one form of effort to overcome rice production problems. This study aims to analyze the effect of land area, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, labour, machinery, and the Makmur program dummy on rice production. The research method used in this research is the descriptive quantitative method. The data collection method was carried out by interviewing and observing all participants of the Makmur programme. The data were processed using IBM SPSS 26 and analyzed using the multiple regression analysis method with cobb-douglas production function. The results showed that: the production of all variables had a significant effect, and partially the variables in the regression calculation before the Makmur program, namely the variable labour (lnX5) and machine power (lnX6) had a significant effect on rice production (Y). In the regression calculation after the Makmur program all variables, namely land area, (lnX1), seeds (lnX2), fertilizer (lnX3), pesticides (lnX4), labour (lnX5) and engine power (lnX6), do not have a significant effect on rice paddy production (lnY). In the regression calculation with the Makmur program dummy, namely pesticides (lnX4) and labour (lnX5) have a significant influence on the dependent variable or rice paddy production (lnY).

Abstract

Cayenne pepper is a potential commodity to be cultivated because of its high selling value. In addition, the business opportunity for cayenne pepper is also high along with the high demand for cayenne pepper in Indonesia and abroad. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the purchasing decision of cayenne pepper simultaneously and partially. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. Sampling was carried out by accidental sampling with a sample of 100 respondents. This study uses primary data obtained from interviews, questionnaires, and observations as well as secondary data obtained from books, journals, articles, and the Internet. Variable measurement uses a Likert scale which is then transformed with the Successive Interval Method (MSI). Test the data instrument using a validity test and reliability test. The classic assumption test used the normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, autocorrelation test, and hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression analysis. The result of this study is that cultural, social, personal, and psychological factors influence purchasing decisions simultaneously. Partially social factors (X2), personal factors (X3), and psychological factors (X4) significantly influence the purchasing decision of cayenne pepper with a positive coefficient. Cultural factors (X1) have no significant effect on the decision to buy cayenne pepper.

Abstract

The research was aimed to analyze the level household food security in Mrican. This research is quantitative research using the case study method which is the only suistanable food yard program recipients (P2L) in Caturtunggal, Depok, Sleman. The sampling method used disproportionate stratified random sampling with a total sample 44 consisting of 22 household receiving P2L and 22 household not receiving P2L (Non-P2L). The data analysis technique used the analysis of the level of food security. The result showed that the level of household condition that experience food security in Mrican was in a food insecure condition of 75%. However, there are household conditions that experience food insecurity by 4,55% and food security 20,45%.

Abstract

A Cooperative is a business entity that has a common social goal, namely to improve and improve the economy of people's lives which is based on the spirit of helping its members. This study aims to analyze the Role of the Mentibar Cemerlang Multi-Business Cooperative on the Welfare of Members in Mentibar Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency. This research was conducted at the Mentibar Cemerlang Multi-Business Cooperative in Mentibar Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency, the method of determining areas and objects was carried out purposively. The sample used in this study were 38 people who were members of KSU Mentibar Cemerlang and whose main job was as an oil palm farmer. This study used the SPSS analysis tool with the Rank-Spearman test. The results of this study show that there is a very strong relationship between the role of KSU Mentibar Cemerlang on the welfare of members with a correlation coefficient of 0.808 which is also positive, namely the type of relationship that is in the same direction, and a significant value of 0.000 is obtained.

Abstract

Pests and diseases that attack rice plants will cause quality and production to decline. Increasing use of chemical pesticides will result in the risk of crop failure, degrade soil fertility and produce residue. This research aims to analyze rice farmers decisions in Gandong Village and Bulus Village, Bandung District, Tulungagung Regency regarding the use of chemical pesticides and determining factors. This research uses variables age, education, experience, land area, family members, land status, knowledge, skills, attitudes and farmers' decisions to use chemical pesticides. Survey was used to collect data from 40 farmers in Gandong Village and 40 farmers in Bulus Village. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression tests and independent t tests. The research results show that rice farmers' decisions in using chemical pesticides were determined by experience, knowledge and skills of the farmers. Rice farmers income in the villages didn’t differ significantly. Keywords: chemical pesticides; 6T principles; rice.

Abstract

The objectives of this paper are 1. Identifying the integrated farming system 2. Interconnection of Resources (R), Organization (O), and Norms (N) in supporting the sustainability of crop-livestock integration activities; and 3. Knowing the implementation of institutional sustainability strategies in the Terang-terang Farmers Group. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach to the Terang-terang Farmer Group in Popo Village, South Galesong District, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi Province using a qualitative descriptive analysis method. The integrated farming system managed by the Terang-terang Farmer group by processing livestock waste into biogas and bio-slurry is utilized as household input and rice plants. Plant waste in the form of straw is used as green and processed animal feed; 2. Resources (R) managed in the form of human resources as many as 25 people, a land area of 13.5 hectares, a total of 55 cattle, a biogas reactor with a capacity of 6 tons, agricultural machinery, namely planting tools, tractors, harvesting machines. There is an organizational structure and there is a division of tasks between individuals working, the norms applied are unwritten rules because there are no written rules. The division of tasks is based on beliefs and customs, no written sanctions are given if there are violations in the group; and 3. The sustainability framework of the Terang-terang Farmer Group is based on reflective strategies and can still be developed with interactive strategies. The integrated agricultural system managed by the Terang-Terang Farmers Group is by processing cattle waste into biogas and solid and liquid bioslurry which is then used as household input and rice plants, plant waste in the form of straw is used as green animal feed, and processed feed; 2. Resources (R) managed in the form of human resources of 25 people, land area of 13.5 hectares, number of cattle of 55 heads, biogas reactor with a capacity of 6 tons, agricultural machinery namely planting tools, tractors, harvesting machines and other equipment are available. quite supportive of integration activities.
