Abstract

The researcher’s interest in their well-being led her to study the level of awareness of the impact of climate change on the socioeconomic life of the coastal communities in San Salvador Island. This study is a descriptive type of research. A descriptive study gives a picture and describes the different aspects concerning a situation to obtain knowledge of nature, states, and development. This current study was conducted at San Salvador Island. It is an island barangay in Masinloc, Zambales, in northwest Luzon. It is an island barangay in Masinloc, Zambales, in northwest Luzon. A 127-hectare fish sanctuary and a nearby Taklobo or Giant Clam Farm are usual attractions to diving enthusiasts. Encourage planting mangroves in the vicinity of the island as part of the extension service of the campus. Conduct a follow-up study on fishermen’s vulnerability, resiliency, and mitigation practices. They are considered priority barangay in the Climate Change Awareness joint project of the PRMSU-Masinloc LDRRMP and CENRO-Masinloc to enhance the fishermen’s awareness and adaptation. Support from the local government unit by having a store filled with more goods and over-the-counter medicines, especially during rainy seasons. May have a routine check by a professional doctor before rainy seasons. Probable additional livelihood to augment needs, particularly during the rainy season.

Abstract

This study sought to investigate the students’ perception on the video self-modelling as an interactive learning tool in enhancing their engagement in physical activity in terms of its acceptability, usability, functionality, frequency and relevance, their level of students’ engagement in physical Activity as in their authentic engagement, strategic compliance, intellectual engagement, social engagement and behavioral engagement. Furthermore, this also examine the significant relationship between Video self-modelling As an Interactive Learning Tool and Student Engagement in Physical Activity. The researcher utilized the constructed survey questionnaire to the selected Grade 11 and Grade 12 Senior High School Students of San Isidro National High School, General Luna, Quezon, to gather data needed in the study. The participants were selected through stratifies sampling technique. Furthermore, the mean, the standard deviation and Pearson r were used as statistical tool. It was revealed that the students accept the video-self modeling as it is easy to use, rich in content, and interesting interactive tool in PE subject. Further, through video-self modeling, the students develop positive behavior, improved existing skills, performed well in physical activities, was motivated, understand the lesson, and boost the confidence and self-esteem, Moreover, the video-self modelling as an interactive tool has significant relevance to the students engagement.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the perceived challenges and coping mechanisms in transitional learning on students’ performance in TLE based on the achievement test. This employed the descriptive-correlational with the comparative design of quantitative method as participated by 150 Grade Nine (9) respondents in the researcher’s locale, who were chosen using the random sampling procedures. The data were gathered using an evaluation questionnaire and achievement test which are validated with the help of the experts. Data communications were established before data gathering procedures and were analyzed using percentage, mean, weighted mean, standard deviation, Pearson r, and t-test. The respondents were at the level of approaching mastery in TLE 9 competencies. The study’s findings revealed that there was a significant difference in perceived challenges and coping mechanisms in transitional learning and the sex profile of the respondents. However, there is no significant relationship between the perceived challenges and coping mechanisms in transitional learning and TLE performance. The study recommends the enhancement of teaching.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of involvement of senior high school students in experiential learning and also to determine of their described self-efficacy in physical education. This employed the research and descriptive correlation design of quantitative method as participated by three hundred fifty (350) senior high school respondents in San Isidro National High School who were chosen using purposive sampling procedures. The data were gathered using survey questionnaires which are validated with the help of the experts. Data communication was established before data gathering procedures and was analyzed using weighted mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s r. Findings revealed that senior high school students agreed that they were involved in experiential learning. Students enhanced and boosted their self-efficacy through the use of mastery experiences, social modeling, social persuasions, and psychological responses. It was concluded that there’s a significant and strong positive correlation between experiential learning and students’ self-efficacy. It implied that as the students engage more in experiential learning, the higher the chance the students’ self-efficacy developed. Otherwise, the lesser engagement in experiential learning, the lower of chance developing self-efficacy. Based on the conclusion, it was recommended that the teachers are also recommended to motivate their students in involving experiential for them to mold and described their self-efficacy in engaging in physical activities.

Abstract

The study described and examined the delivery, effectiveness and efficiency of modular approach in teaching among the Pandi Heights Elementary School and Akle Elementary Schools both of which were within the auspices of Schools Division of Bulacan. There were 54 teachers served as the respondents of the study. They were given survey questionnaire which was administered and retrieved through google forms. Results revealed that utilization of modular approach was significant and contributory to achieve meaningful learning in order to achieve efficient delivery of learning competencies and skills were honed independently based from the acquired learning experiences of learners. Thus, the findings showed that the schools were able to provide and assist teachers in module preparation and expenses. Apparently, there were personal expenses made by the teachers to supplement the reproduction of modules, financial support of the school was found significant to prepare and reproduce the modules. Further, proper evaluation to teachers’ instructional competence was made in order to monitor the checking and assessment of learners’ outputs contained in their modules. . Profile of the respondents in terms of age, highest educational attainment and number of years in teaching were positively correlated with the delivery and effectiveness of modular approach in teaching elementary grades.

Abstract

The study aimed to describe and examine school heads’ innovative leadership practices and management styles among school heads assigned in Bustos District in the Schools Division of Bulacan. The study was participated by thirteen (13) school heads who were purposively drawn by the researchers. Results revealed that school heads always practiced innovative leadership practices in terms of strategic thinking, innovative thinking, action patterns and interpersonal skills. Hence, school heads always practiced sound management styles which enabled them to create sound and efficient managerial and supervisory functions. Further, strategic thinking is negatively correlated with instructional leadership as implemented by the school heads.

Abstract

This paper examines the impact of reflective leadership on workplace belongingness, with a particular focus on gender differences. Through a combined approach of thematic and quantitative analyses, the study explores the factors that contribute to workplace belongingness and investigates potential variations in these factors based on gender. The findings reveal that reflective leadership positively influences workplace belongingness, with employees perceiving higher levels of reflective leadership in their leaders reporting higher levels of belongingness. The study identifies a safe environment, open communication, and challenging beliefs and assumptions as significant components of reflective leadership that impact workplace belongingness. The thematic analysis highlights the importance of psychological safety, effective communication, the value of work and purpose, and openness to change in fostering workplace belongingness. The quantitative analysis further reveals that the relationship between reflective leadership and workplace belongingness is stronger for female employees compared to male employees. The study emphasizes the need to consider gender-specific factors when promoting workplace belongingness, and it suggests strategies for organizations and leaders to create a positive work environment that enhances belongingness. These strategies include fostering a safe and supportive environment, promoting open communication, encouraging critical thinking, and implementing gender-specific initiatives and policies. The findings contribute to the existing literature by shedding light on the complex relationship between reflective leadership, workplace belongingness, and gender. Overall, promoting workplace belongingness contributes to improved employee well-being, satisfaction, engagement, and organizational performance.

Abstract

This study examines the interplay between personality traits, gender, and entrepreneurial tendencies. Drawing from the framework of the Big Five personality traits (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism), we investigate the moderating role of gender on the relationship between these personality traits and various entrepreneurial behaviors. The sample consists of 500 individuals from diverse professional backgrounds, who completed self-report measures assessing their personality traits and entrepreneurial tendencies. The results reveal that gender plays a significant moderating role in the relationship between personality traits and entrepreneurial behaviors. Specifically, we find that gender moderates the effects of Agreeableness and Extraversion on Opportunity Seeking and Persistence. Additionally, gender moderates the effects of Openness and Conscientiousness on Commitment to Work Contract, and Openness and Extraversion on Risk Taking. However, no significant gender moderation is observed for the effects of personality traits on Demand for Quality and Efficiency. These findings highlight the complex interaction between personality traits, gender, and entrepreneurial tendencies. Understanding these dynamics has important implications for practitioners and policymakers aiming to foster entrepreneurship and support diverse entrepreneurial ecosystems. By acknowledging the differential impact of personality traits on entrepreneurial behaviors based on gender, tailored interventions and training programs can be developed to empower individuals, irrespective of their gender, in their pursuit of entrepreneurial success. Overall, this research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the multidimensional nature of entrepreneurship, emphasizing the need to consider gender as an important factor influencing the relationship between personality traits and entrepreneurial behaviors.

Abstract

Climate change (CC) will continue to harm the environment if mitigation efforts are slow. Raising the CC knowledge and awareness of individuals is crucial in prompting significant mitigating action or adaptation practices. In addition, empowering young people will potentially ignite more innovative strategies that are helpful in decelerating the impacts of CC. The study aimed to determine students’ knowledge of CC and their adaptive practices. Based on the findings, a model to engage students in CC action was developed. The respondents were 132 students in a State University in Region III enrolled in AY 2022-2023. Data were gathered using a validated self-made questionnaire. Findings revealed that while most respondents were knowledgeable of the concept of climate change (62.88%), a sizable percentage were still misinformed. In addition, the respondents knew the causes of CC such as the emission of greenhouse gases (87.12%), deforestation (57.58%), and excessive fertilizer use (37.88%) but some causes of climate change were unknown to them. Moreover, most of them were cognizant of the consequences of climate change which include excessive rain (96.21%), flood (95.45%), and melting of snow (94.70%). But the response to “drought” as one of the consequences of climate change was only known to a few students (47.73%). As to the knowledge of the health effects of climate change, most students knew CC raises respiratory, water-borne, and skin diseases but some expressed their lack of knowledge about other diseases such as the possibility of triggering cancer and mental health issues. Moreover, students have developed CC adaptive practices such as consuming more fruits and vegetables than meat and conserving energy use at home, but they were observed to be inconsistent in some areas such as in practicing the 3Rs and in throwing away less food. The F-value of 0.021 and 0.82 p-value, to compare the CC adaptive practices of the respondents with respect to gender, support the acceptance of the null hypothesis. Gender is not a determinant of CC adaptive practices. This indicates that gender is not a barrier to CC action. The study concludes that students have limited knowledge about climate change, especially on the health impacts. Also, the students’ CC adaptive practices imply lack of commitment to act on CC. The study recommends strengthening the integration of climate change into school policies, research, extension, and instruction and a strong support of school stakeholders in their implementation. A climate change engagement model is an output of this study which may be considered by schools in prompting students to participate in CC action. A future study may include the factors that hinder students’ consistent involvement in CC action despite their awareness and knowledge about the negative consequences.

Abstract

Introduction: Under the new normal circumstances, a lot of students had the most difficulty learning effectively and succeeding in school, and they still frequently struggle. The majority of students were having problems understanding the modules and other subjects, particularly math. Consequently, students truly need the assistance of the teachers in each lesson in mathematics for the self-learning module. Method: The study employed descriptive research utilizing a quantitative approach through the comparative method to determine if there is a significant difference in the pre-test and post-test results of the students before and after giving pre-recorded lessons and home tutorial sessions. The respondents to the study were the 32 Grade 11 students at Jomalig National High School who took the General Academic Strand (GAS). Results: The findings of the study revealed that there were notable and significant differences between the pre-test and post-test scores of the students involved in the interventions. The pre-test and post-test data revealed a mean of 12.25 and 26.5312, respectively. The data also revealed a computed t-value of 24.52165006 and a p-value of 3.66137E-22 at the 0.05 level of significance, which shows that there is a significant difference in the pre-test and post-test scores of the students while giving the pre-recorded lesson and home tutorial session. The respondents were chosen purposefully. Conclusions: Giving pre-recorded lessons and home tutorial sessions had a massive effect on the academic performance in mathematics of grade 11 students; thus, these enhanced the academic performance of grade 11 students in mathematics.
