This research used a semiotic approach to analyze Nias' traditional houses, exploring the symbolism and meaning contained in the architecture and design elements. The traditional Nias house functions not only as a place to live but also as a representation of the cultural values, belief systems, and social identities of the Nias people. The research method included analysis of the signs and symbols on the house structure. The research results showed that every element of a Nias traditional house, from the basic structure to the decorative ornaments, has a deep symbolic meaning and reflects the harmonious relationship between humans, nature, and spirituality. These findings reinforce the importance of preserving Nias' traditional houses as part of Indonesia's rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Game-based ice-breaking activities are essential for increasing student engagement and motivation during English lessons. Previous studies have highlighted their effectiveness in creating a learning environment that focuses on student experiences. This study aims to fill the gap by exploring the types of game-based icebreaker activities used by English teachers and their impact on them. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, collecting data from three elementary school teachers in Malang, East Java, through observation and interviews. The study found that both non-digital and digital games were used as ice-breaking activities to foster a more interactive learning environment. These activities strengthened teacher-student relationships and encouraged creativity in teaching methods. However, challenges such as time constraints, limited resources, and managing student behavior were observed. These findings indicate the importance of integrating games into teaching strategies to enhance the relationships between teachers and students, thereby improving the classroom atmosphere and promoting creativity in teaching methods. They also highlight the need for teacher training programs to address challenges such as time constraints, limited resources, and managing student behavior when implementing games.

This research seeks to identify perspectives and challenges in using online learning applications. The sample for this research was 3 EFL teachers at SMP Santa Maria Banjarmasin. This research uses a qualitative approach to obtain data. The instrument used in this research consisted of 8 open-ended questionnaires created online using Google Forms. The data is then collected, analyzed, and described. This research found that, SMP Santa Maria Banjarmasin teachers used online learning applications such as Zoom, Google Classroom, WhatsApp, Google Meet, and Canva. The challenges come from a need for more skills in using Zoom's features, time constraints, and a need for features on the free account. Teachers believe that online learning can be implemented with thorough preparation because it is beneficial for education in the future. Therefore, the researcher suggests that further research use a more detailed methodology in collecting samples and analyzing data to further serve for in-depth findings about online learning applications.
