Abstract

This article describes a practical example of a social & community engagement work and involvement of students with a focus on learning process activities. In 2008, the Gonçalinho project in Cáceres, Brazil, started a cooperation with the Brazilian AG at “Metzinger Gymnasium” in Germany. The result of a cooperation agreement signed between UNEMAT and the Educating and Cultural Society of BrazilianGerman Integration in 2012 provided the opportunity to promote the exchange of solidarity and human experiences between young people from both countries. This project has a particular historical background regarding the involvement of children with drugs and dealers. In this regard, the project aims to find a way to move children from those risks and involvement with criminality to get a clear perspective on life with more dignity. Therefore, this paper shows the strategies and challenges behind this community service and the students’ contribution based on a five-pillar methodology. Further opportunities regarding the next steps will be highlighted, along with practical lessons learned.

Abstract

Addressing and reducing the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia, supported by the reduction of stunting in various regions throughout the country, is a highly relevant program in achieving Indonesia's vision for 2045 as declared by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. In realizing this vision, the program to reduce the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia becomes highly relevant to achieve this overarching goal. Therefore, all elements of society, in accordance with their respective roles, can contribute to supporting the realization of Indonesia's advanced vision. Hence, studies regarding the condition of stunting in its various dimensions become very important and relevant. The purpose of this Community Engagement activity is to: 1) Analyze the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of young generations in stunting prevention in a rural village; 2) Enhance the role of young generations in stunting prevention in their village. The Community Engagement activity was conducted in Abang Village, Karangasem Regency. This regency was chosen because it has the highest prevalence of stunting among the regencies in Bali Province. The activity involved young people in the village, known as "Sekehe Teruna Teruni," as participants in the event, which provided Communication, Information, and Education (KIE) related to stunting prevention. There were three resource persons for this activity, including an academic, a healthcare professional, and a Family Planning field educator. After the socialization, an evaluation was conducted on the participants, and the results were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The analysis revealed the following: 1) About 70% of the participants had heard of the stunting phenomenon, while the remaining 30% had not. Approximately 96% of the participants increased their knowledge about stunting after the KIE, with only about 4% not experiencing an increase in their knowledge. This increase in knowledge influenced their attitudes, making them more willing to participate in stunting prevention through family planning, 2) Data analysis indicated that all participants, 100%, expressed their intent to plan the number of children they would have when they get married according to their economic and other capabilities.

Abstract

Fashion products, which currently dominate the online market in Indonesia as products that are frequently purchased, are in fact not yet facilitated by an e-commerce system that is capable of serving pre-order sales of fashion products at the buyer's request. Therefore, most of the ineffective activities occur in the pre-sales stage because it can lead to long interactions with customers to get the requested information, and sales quotations cannot be processed immediately. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the quality of e-commerce that was developed specifically to serve these sales through real implementation for Sakinah_id SMEs and buyers who actually want to order product requests. Based on assessments from buyers and MSME employees, the e-commerce used can cut time faster in the pre-sales stage, and delivery of sales quotations can be done immediately to buyers. The durability of shorter service and processing times is felt, especially when the number of orders coming in is large. So that it can help reduce the burden on the employee concerned through the implementation of this e-commerce.

Abstract

This research explores the crucial role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia's economic development, especially in Probolinggo, East Java. MSMEs are identified as an effective measure in reducing poverty and unemployment, as well as a key element of economic recovery after the economic crisis. The government considers MSMEs as the largest group of economic actors in Indonesia, contributing significantly to national development. While Nyonya Umi's Fried Onion products have great potential to enter the market, challenges arise because they do not yet have brand rights, making development difficult and involving the risk of losing product assets to other parties. In this context, legal aid is considered essential to provide protection to the MSME Business Center in Dringu village, support its development, and overcome barriers such as the absence of a brand.

Abstract

This community service carried out at the Wini (Indonesia) border market and Regiao Administrativa Especial de Oecusse (Ambeno) Timor Leste. There are 3 problems that occur at the Wini border market, namely 1) During transactions, traders do not have a certain formula for determining and fixing exchange rates. Determining exchange rates in the market is only based on bargaining between sellers and buyers, 2) In the bargaining process, sellers and buyers do not see the exchange rate that applies when the transaction takes place and 3) traders in the border market determine the exchange rate during the transaction only following the exchange rate that has been made by other traders in the border market. The service was carried out using socialization methods and Focus Group discussions with 20 traders/buyers from Indonesia, Timor Leste and the governments of the two countries. The results of this community service provide understanding to buyers and sellers from two countries about the obligation to use the currency of the country where the transaction occurs, the importance of exchanging foreign money at a legal money changer, the rules regarding international trade, as well as an understanding of the basis for determining the selling value of products that bring business profits. . By doing business according to government regulations and international business standards, people in border markets can win profits.

Abstract

This research-based community service aims to develop several research results from research teams and other researchers who are in the same field of science, namely the field of aquaculture or aquaculture, to overcome the problems faced by partners. This service was motivated by the partner's problem at SMK Negeri 1 Meureubo, West Aceh, namely that the results of raising catfish were less than optimal because catfish have cannibalistic characteristics so that in making a catfish grading tool, partners were able to increase the results of cultivating catfish. This is also supported by the absence of manufacturers making catfish grading equipment in West Aceh in particular and Aceh in general. Apart from that, making this grading bucket can also provide additional income for students at SMKN 1 Meureubo school through early introduction to entrepreneurship for students at school as well as to develop an entrepreneurial spirit and improve students' skills in making useful products in the field of Aquaculture. The method used in this service is through a direct approach and active participation of students in making catfish seed grading buckets. Activities include outreach in the form of lectures and discussions, practice of making grading buckets directly at school as well as mentoring the service team in developing the entrepreneurial spirit of students at partner schools. The output of the service that has been carried out is a draft article to be published in a national journal. Output also produces products that can be marketed online and offline.
