Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' mathematical problem solving skills. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were XI grade students of SMKS IT Marinah Al-Hidayah Medan, namely 26 people. Data collection techniques using student mathematical problem solving ability test instrument on opportunity material. The data analysis technique was carried out in three stages, namely checking the results of student answers, presenting test data and drawing conclusions from the research results. The results showed that the mathematical problem solving ability of 11th grade students of SMKS IT Marinah Al-Hidayah Medan was divided into three categories, namely high, medium and low. Students with high mathematical problem solving ability are able to fulfill the indicators of understanding the problem for all questions, planning solutions for questions number 1 and 3, carrying out plans for questions number 1 and 3 and checking back for questions number 1 and 3. Students with medium mathematical problem solving ability are able to understand the indicators of understanding the problem for all questions, planning problems for questions number 1 and 3, carrying out plans for question number 3 and checking back for problem question 3.Students with low mathematical problem solving ability are not able to understand all.

Abstract

Students' Mathematical Problem Solving Ability in solving HOTS problems is still low because it is considered difficult and rarely taught in schools, therefore students often answer directly without analyzing and determining a solution strategy. The purpose of this study is to describe students' difficulties in solving HOTS problems in terms of Polya's theory. This study uses a qualitative research method using a case study approach. The subjects in this study were 9 students, 3 students in the low category, 3 students in the medium category, and 3 students in the high category. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the analysis of the difficulties experienced by students include difficulty writing information, difficulty writing formulas, errors in calculations, and not drawing conclusions. It can be concluded that low category students have difficulty at the stage of understanding the problem, medium category students have difficulty at the stage of implementing the plan, and high category students have difficulty at the stage of drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study, in further research, appropriate strategies can be carried out to overcome students' difficulties in solving HOTS problems.

Abstract

Bagi perusahaan asuransi, memahami faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengajuan klaim sangat penting. Hal ini harus dilakukan oleh perusahaan asuransi agar mereka dapat menjaga keseimbangan dari jumlah premi yang didapatkan dan jumlah klaim yang dilakukan oleh nasabah. Ketidakpastian terkait faktor risiko yang signifikan dapat menimbulkan kesulitan dalam menentukan harga premi yang tepat dan pengelolaan risiko yang akan dilakukan oleh perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor apa saja yang dapat memengaruhi kemungkinan nasabah mengajukan klaim asuransi dengan menggunakan metode regresi logistik. Hasil yang didapatkan dari analisis ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 7 variabel bebas ada 4 variabel yang mempengaruhi jumlah klaim, yakni age, children, bmi, dan smoker mempengaruhi klaim. Kinerja dari model ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil dari accuracy sebesar 89%, precision sebesar 90%, sensitivity sebesar 91% dan F1-score sebesar 90%. Penelitian ini berharap bahwa model yang telah dibuat dapat menjadi acuan bagi masyarakat dan industri asuransi untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab klaim secara akurat dan efisien.

Abstract

Problem solving ability is one of the important skills in mathematics learning, especially in solving story problems on mixed fractions. The results of initial observations in grade V of SDN Sukarindik showed that students' problem solving abilities were still low, with only 33.33% of students achieving the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This study aims to improve students' problem solving abilities through the use of fraction puzzle media in mathematics learning. The method used was the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model of Kemmis and McTaggart which was implemented in two cycles. Data collection instruments were tests, observations, and documentation. The results of the study showed a significant increase. The average student score increased by 36.91 points, namely from 46.42 (very poor category) in the initial ability test stage to 83.33 (good category) in cycle II. Learning completeness also increased by 57.14%, from 33.33% (very poor category) to 90.47% (very good category). Student activity in learning increased by 8%, from 80% to 88% (very good category). Teachers' ability in lesson planning also showed a 2.18% increase, from 96.73% to 98.91% (very good category). Thus, the use of puzzles has been proven to improve students' problem-solving skills in mixed fractions, as well as creating active, meaningful, and well-planned learning.

Abstract

Divorce is a court decision on the termination of a marriage. Divorce brings with it a negative impact, especially on the children of the couple's marriage. Children who are victims of divorce tend to be prone to feeling afraid, sad, guilty to trigger stress and depression in children which then has a bad impact on relationships during the child's growth and development. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an analysis to find out the factors of divorce. In this research, the analysis used is binary logistic regression with the response variables in the binary category of divorce, namely “cerai talak” and “cerai gugat”. While the stimulus variables in this study were 13 objects obtained based on secondary data documentation of Courts. The results of this research are obtained five factors that have a significant effect, namely age at marriage and profession of who filing for divorce and divorce defendant, as well as the education of who filing for divorce. The interpretation of the results of binary logistic regression analysis shows that, the age of divorced defendant at the time of marriage has a 1,15 times greater effect on the cerai gugat, while the age of who filed for divorce has a 0.68 times greater effect on the cerai talak. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using number card media in improving students’ learning outcomes on number pattern material. The research method employed was an experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 23 students as research subjects. The research instrument was a learning outcome test that had been validated through expert judgment and tested for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha, which obtained a value of 0.682 categorized as moderate. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using normality and homogeneity tests, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain calculation. The results showed a significant improvement between the pretest scores (mean = 22.78) and posttest scores (mean = 84.30), with the paired sample t-test indicating a sig. (2-tailed) value smaller than the significance level (0.000 ≤ 0.05), suggesting a significant difference. The average classical N-Gain of 0.79 was categorized as high, with 74% of students achieving improvement in the high category and 26% in the moderate category. These findings demonstrate that number card media plays a significant role in facilitating students to construct an understanding of abstract concepts through concrete learning experiences, in line with Piaget’s and Bruner’s constructivist theory.

Abstract

Mathematics instruction in Indonesia continues to encounter difficulties in cultivating students’ problem-solving abilities, particularly in topics related to algebraic expressions. This study seeks to examine instructional needs and to develop a problem-solving-oriented Student Worksheet (LKPD) tailored to algebraic form content. The research took place at SMP Negeri 6 Kupang Tengah Satu Atap, employing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology with a focus on the analysis and design phases of the ADDIE model. The participants were seventh-grade students. Data collection methods included classroom observations, teacher interviews, and document analysis. The analysis reveals that instruction remains predominantly teacher-centered, relying heavily on lectures, with low student engagement and a lack of supportive instructional media for fostering problem-solving. In response, a student worksheet was designed that incorporates Polya’s problem-solving framework and draws upon Kupang’s local context to enhance students’ problem-solving skills. Abstract

Kelapa sawit merupakan salah satu komoditas perkebunan utama yang berperan penting dalam perekonomian nasional. Tandan Buah Segar (TBS) menjadi bahan baku utama dalam proses pengolahan Crude Palm Oil (CPO), yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan produktivitas TBS pada tiga wilayah operasional PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional 4, yaitu Kebun Ophir, Kebun Bunut, dan Kebun Bukit Kausar dengan tahun tanam yang sama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah ANOVA One Way untuk menguji perbedaan rata-rata produktivitas antar kebun, dan uji lanjut Tukey HSD untuk mengetahui kelompok kebun yang berbeda nyata. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder hasil produksi TBS (Kg/Ha) bulan April 2025 yang diperoleh dari bagian Akuntansi dan Keuangan perusahaan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antar kebun dengan nilai signifikansi < 0,05. Uji lanjut Tukey HSD menunjukkan bahwa Kebun Bukit Kausar memiliki produktivitas tertinggi, sedangkan Kebun Ophir terendah. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi manajemen perusahaan dalam merumuskan strategi peningkatan produktivitas secara berkelanjutan di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Penalaran analogi merupakan proses berpikir kritis yang memungkinkan siswa mentransfer pengetahuan dari permasalahan yang telah dikenali ke situasi baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil penalaran analogi siswa kelas X dalam menyelesaikan soal trigonometri ditinjau dari gaya kognitif—field dependent (FD) dan field independent (FI). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui GEFT (Group Embedded Figures Test), tes penalaran analogi, dan wawancara semi-terstruktur. Dua subjek dipilih secara purposive, masing-masing mewakili satu gaya kognitif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa FI mampu menyelesaikan keempat tahap penalaran analogi encoding, inferring, mapping, dan applying—dengan baik dan mandiri. Sebaliknya, siswa FD mengalami hambatan khususnya pada tahap mapping dan applying, menunjukkan ketergantungan terhadap konteks dan bantuan eksternal. Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya penerapan strategi pembelajaran yang berbeda sesuai gaya kognitif siswa agar pembelajaran konsep abstrak seperti trigonometri dapat lebih efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ errors in solving exponent problems in terms of conceptual understanding, skills, and problem-solving aspects. The research method employed was descriptive qualitative with two students of SMA St. Arnoldus Janssen Kupang as subjects, selected based on test results and teacher recommendations. The research instruments consisted of written tests and interviews, while the data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the first subject made errors in the problem-solving indicator on question number 2 and errors in all indicators on question number 3. Meanwhile, the second subject made errors in conceptual understanding and skills on question number 1 and complete errors on question number 3. Overall, the most dominant errors committed by students were in conceptual understanding, skills, and problem-solving, particularly in applying the properties of exponents. These findings provide important implications for teachers to emphasize concept-based learning and provide varied practice problems to improve students’ skills and problem-solving abilities.
