Abstract

This study aims to develop and test a hand drawing classification model using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm to identify digits in American Sign Language (ASL). This method utilizes image processing techniques for extracting relevant features from hand images and SVM's ability to separate complex patterns. The training and test data consists of hand images representing the digits 0 through 9 in ASL. Tests are performed using test data that the model has never seen during training, to measure the performance and validity of the model in real-world situations. The results showed that the developed classification model was able to recognize digits in ASL with satisfactory accuracy, where the accuracy of the developed model was 99.8% with a loss of 0.018. Error analysis provides insight into situations that confuse the model and the potential for further improvement. The use of SVM in this ASL classification opens up new opportunities in strengthening communication accessibility for the hand sign language community. In conclusion, this model has the potential to make a positive contribution in facilitating communication and inclusion for deaf communities.

Abstract

Banana fruit quality is an important factor in meeting consumer demand and maintaining product quality in the supply chain. The development of automatic methods for classifying the quality of bananas is becoming increasingly important as the worldwide consumption of bananas grows. In this study, we propose a classification method for banana fruit quality using the Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) algorithm. This study aims to evaluate the performance of SGD in classifying the quality of bananas and to analyze the effect of selecting hyperparameters on the classification results. The dataset collected is a dataset containing pictures of bananas with various levels of ripeness and conditions. This dataset is used to train and test a classification model using SGD. During the experiment, hyperparameter tuning processes such as learning rate, momentum, and batch size were carried out to understand how these parameters affect the performance of SGD in classification. We report the results of evaluating the classification based on accuracy and analyze changes in performance with variations in hyperparameters. The results of this study indicate that SGD has the potential to classify the quality of bananas, where the optimal SGD model obtained a classification accuracy of 99.9%, compared to the standard SGD model which only obtained a classification accuracy of 94.7%.

Abstract

The development of Lembaga Pendidikan Qur’an (LPQ) in Medan City is currently expanding, but in obtaining information about Lembaga Pendidikan Qur’an in Medan City is still minimal. Due to the absence of technology-based media used to display location points and routes to LPQ in Medan City. The purpose of this study is to build a geographic information system that can display location point information, the closest route and other information related to LPQ. By using the Research and development research method which aims to create or develop a new product, and implement the A-Star algorithm in order to find the closest route to that location. While in developing the system, the author uses the Rapid Application Development method where at this stage the system built by the author is then tested blackbox testing to find out whether every process in the system is in accordance with its function or not. The final result in this study is a geographic information system application for mapping the distribution of the Lembaga Pendidikan Qur’an (LPQ) based on Android that can be used by the community, especially for those who have children and want to participate in learning activities at Lembaga Pendidikan Qur’an

Abstract

Summary is a restatement of a long text in a more form short or concise. In a summary, trimming of a text is done by taking the main sentences and explanatory sentences that are important but not omit the idea of ??the original text. The results of research that was previously carried out on several students, Information Systems Program, where  results  the research 80.4% of students often have difficulty to get core information from the Information Systems Study Program textbook on It takes a while to get the substance of the book at the library of the Faculty of Science and Technology. And in order to solve this issue, planning build a technology Augmented Reality, linked in get core information from the manual for the information systems study program. Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), the relevant development methodology, was used in this study can produce applications augmented reality android-based which can display a 3-dimensional virtual form of 10 books information system lessons in the FST library and book synopsis in the form of audio so that readers can find summary information on the contents of the book. Development This application goes through several stages and involves some of the software in between architectural planning, planning storyboard, and user interface. 3D rendering model with 3D blender software and finally component assembly and manufacture augmented reality use software unity 3D

Abstract

The development of computer technology has increased the demand for the right choice in buying an SSD (Solid State Drive) for a laptop. This research is intended to develop a decision support system (DSS) that uses a combination of the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) and SAW (Simple Additive Weighting) methods in selecting laptop SSD at a Medan computer shop. This research consists of several stages. The first stage involves identifying relevant criteria in selecting a laptop SSD, such as price, capacity, speed, durability, and warranty. The AHP method is used to determine the relative weight of each criterion. The second phase involves using the SAW method to assign a value to each criterion and the SSD alternatives available in the store. The suitability score for each alternative is calculated and the system generates recommendations based on the highest score. The decision support system developed in this research is expected to help computer shop owners and customers choose the most suitable laptop SSD according to their needs and preferences. By using a combination of AHP and SAW methods, more objective and accurate results can be obtained in selecting a laptop SSD at a computer shop in Medan. In the context of laptop hardware selection, this research is expected to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Financial management is one of the most important problems in human life. By doing financial management, it will be easy to plan their finances. However, this lack of financial literacy is the cause of one of the causes of many people who have not managed their finances well is the lack of time to record their finances. The author proposes to create a mobile-based Financial Management application to improve individual financial literacy. The purpose of making this application is to help individuals manage their finances such as recording income, recording expenses, and applying budgeting methods in doing their financial planning. The research was conducted using the Waterfall research method. This manufacturing process includes system analysis, system design, implementation and testing. The design depicted is in the form of a Data Flow Diagram, Database created, and Wireframe application to be created. Applications that have been created using the React Native framework and use APIs in exchanging data between client and server which then the data will be saved to the database. The app will be tested to see if it's eligible and whether it can help users with financial recordkeeping issues. The results of testing using blackbox testing this application is worth using and works properly. As such, the app has the potential to increase an individual's financial understanding and awareness and encourage the adoption of better financial practices. This technology is proving itself as a valuable tool in personal financial management

Abstract

E-learning at Sriwijaya University is an electronic learning system used to provide education and training to students through an online platform. In its use, e-learning provides students with the flexibility to study independently, according to their schedule and needs. This study provides an important insight into the factors affecting students’ intention to use e-learning as a learning medium, especially in the context of the aftermath of COVID-19. The results of this study can be used by colleges and educational institutions to increase the effectiveness of e-learning in online learning. This study aims to investigate the influence of knowledge sharing and knowledge acquisition factors on the intention of using e-learning as a learning medium in the academic environment after COVID-19. Factors studied include Subjective Norms (SN), Self-Efficacy (SE), Knowledge Sharing (KS), Knowledge Acquisition (KA), Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Satisfaction (SAT), and Adherence (SAT). This study used the Expectation Confirmation Model (ECM) research model. Data were collected through a survey of active students at Sriwijaya University, with a sample of 500 respondents. Data analysis uses Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. Research results show that important Knowledge Management factors such as Knowledge Sharing (KS) and Knowledge Acquisition (KA) have a positive effect on reviewing the intention of using e-learning as a learning medium. Other factors also have a positive and significant effect on e-learning intentions

Abstract

Operation Damai Cartenz is a joint operation between the Indonesian National Police (POLRI) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in the Papua region to face security challenges in the region. The rugged terrain and complex operational environment in the Papua region are one of the challenges in carrying out this operation, so a strategy is needed to run it, one of which is by utilizing a Geographic Information System (GIS). The Geographic Information System (GIS) is one of the pieces of information that can assist officials in mapping areas. The application of GIS in operations can be further developed through the use of information resources owned by the Task Force. One of the things that can be done is by integrating Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Common Operating Picture (COP) capabilities in GIS. The main objective of this research is to be able to develop and offer a conceptual framework for integrating ISR and COP capabilities for GIS in supporting the Cartenz Peaceful Operation in the Papua region which includes explanations regarding requirements and addressing operational challenges through the implementation of effective integration of ISR and COP capabilities.

Abstract

One of the most important factors in having an animal is the need for animal care, which means that pet owners have to take the time to take care of their animals, from the problem arose an enterprise that provides various kinds of pet needs including animal care and animal care services namely petshop. In carrying out the process of animal care or care customers need to come to the store and ask for the availability of the schedule of care and stock cage so it takes a lot of time. The research is aimed at assisting the processing of animal care and care transactions so that customers can make the transaction and check the availability of services without having to come to the store and create an Android-based app that can reach the entire customer. To facilitate the development of Android applications, the design uses the Dart programming language with the help of the Flutter framework and the Hypertext Preprocessor Programming Language (PHP) with Laravel as a framework to build the REST API web service technology so that Android applications can be integrated with the central database. From the results of analysis and trials, the ease of transaction by customers and pet store owners has been achieved by developing an Android-based pet care reservation application through the implementation of the REST API. Thus, the design of an Android-based pet care and pet booking application has successfully improved the efficiency of the reservation process, providing easier access to pet owner, and enabling pet service providers to manage schedules more effectively. The application has succeeded in meeting the needs of pet owners in caring and caring for their animals, proving the great potential of the use of modern technology in the animal care industry

Abstract

Telecommunications and information technology have become an important part of everyday life, but the problem of poor networks is still a challenge in many areas, including the province of South Sumatra, Indonesia. PT Julian Adiputra Utama (PT JAU), as a telecommunications and information technology company, is trying to overcome this problem by building a Base Transceiver Station (BTS) tower to improve connectivity and information accessibility for the local community. The aim of this research is to analyze the determination of the most effective BTS tower installation locations based on the Fresnel area factor. The Fresnel zone around the signal transmission path between the BTS and the receiver is a critical area that can cause interference and reduce signal quality. Considering the Fresnel zone, this research looks for suitable location points for installing BTS towers to improve signal quality and efficiency of telecommunications services. The search method includes selecting 10 candidate locations as possible locations for installing BTS towers, followed by traffic design and driving tests. Fresnel area data is calculated using the formula rf = 17.32 taking into account the curvature of the earth and the height of the antenna. The calculation results show that candidate R was chosen as the most effective detection point because it has a larger Fresnel area than the other candidates. This research has important implications for planning and developing telecommunications infrastructure, especially for improving connectivity in remote areas. Accessibility of information and telecommunications services to the public in South Sumatra Province is expected to increase if effective BTS placement points are determined based on Fresnel area analysis.
