Abstract

This study investigated the sources of teaching anxiety experienced by EFL student teachers and their strategies to overcome their teaching anxiety. The study used a qualitative research design with close-ended questionnaires and semi-structured interviews to collect the data. The obtained data were categorized and transcribed to be analyzed qualitatively. The findings revealed seven main factors that caused teaching anxiety including; evaluation, students’ behaviors, self-confidence, fear of making mistakes, time management, lesson delivery, and teaching preparation. Student teachers implemented several strategies to overcome EFL student teachers’ anxiety including; humor and positive thinking, good planning and preparation, building a good relationship, practicing mindfulness, creating fun English learning activities, and giving a reward. The results provide important implications for further research development in educational practices, specifically in managing teaching anxiety among prospective teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the influence of entrepreneurship education and the use of social media among students affects entrepreneurial interest through entrepreneurial motivation. This type of research is quantitative research. The research design uses a survey method with a questionnaire as a data collection instrument. The study population was all Entrepreneurship Students of Universitas Negeri Makassar which amounted to 427 students. While the sampling technique uses Proportional Random Sampling technique, which is calculated using the Slovin formula with a sample size of 84 respondents or 22% of the total population. The research method used in this research is quantitative. The results showed that indirectly entrepreneurship education and the use of social media affect the interest in entrepreneurship with entrepreneurial motivation as an intervening variable. However, for the direct effect of only entrepreneurship education and the use of social media on entrepreneurial interest that has no effect, while for the effect on entrepreneurial motivation there is a significant effect. This research can be a source of information or reference for teaching staff or lecturers so that they can direct and guide students regarding the development of entrepreneurial interests, students are also expected to deepen their interest in business management so that they are not only focused on the knowledge produced, but also able to do business and develop it.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the AI (Artificial Intelligence) learning system in facilitating interactive learning in junior high schools. In this research, the design that will be used is quantitative research. The research method used is quasi-experiment with a design of two groups of cases and controls. Research location at SMP Negeri 1 Beringin, Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. The research results show that the use of AI learning systems in interactive learning in junior high schools has significant effectiveness. AI learning systems are able to provide a more interesting and interactive learning experience for students, as well as encouraging active participation in the learning process. Additionally, AI learning systems also provide fast and accurate feedback to students, allowing them to improve their understanding and performance immediately. However, this research also found several factors that need to be considered in implementing AI learning systems in junior high schools. These factors include the availability of adequate technological infrastructure, adequate teacher training in using AI learning systems, as well as strong support from the school and related stakeholders. In conclusion, this research shows that AI learning systems have the potential to increase the effectiveness of interactive learning in junior high schools. However, successful implementation requires cooperation between schools, teachers, students and related stakeholders. It is hoped that the results of this research can become a reference for the development of AI learning systems in the education sector.

Abstract

Computational Thinking is a skill that plays a significant role in improving students' skills, achievements, and global competitiveness. This research aims to determine the Computational Thinking abilities of preservice physics teachers for each indicator by creating a simulation using the Scratch application. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. The respondents involved in the research were 10 pre-service physics teachers at Khairun University. The respondents are students who have taken Computer Programming courses. The saturated sampling technique was used to determine the respondents. The data collection technique for this research is a test. The instrument used is a simple project to simulate projectile motion. The results of this research show that all students were able to complete the abstraction and generalization components perfectly. Furthermore, in the decomposition and algorithmic thinking components, two students made incorrect commands in the Scratch application. However, after the interview, it was revealed that the error was not due to their lack of understanding of physics concepts, but rather due to the limitations of mathematical operations in the Scratch application. Importantly, several students explained that most of the Computational Thinking components had already been developed through their habit of solving physics phenomena cases. Therefore, it can also be concluded that Computational Thinking can train students to solve physics problems effectively.

Abstract

The technology development has influenced the field of education, one of which is the emergence of diverse and interactive learning media that can enhance the effectiveness of ongoing learning. Articulate Storyline 3 is one of the learning media that can be utilized in the learning process. However, the learning process conducted in the VI grade of SD Negeri Kalirejo 01 Ungaran still uses a conservative teaching method due to a lack of knowledge on how to use technology to maximize the learning process, especially in the material of the solar system/Sitaya. The researchers employed the research and development method using the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) research model to assess whether Articulate Storyline 3 learning media can make learning more effective. The VI grade at SD Negeri Kalirejo 01 Ungaran was selected as the research sample. Based on the analysis, it was found that students felt comfortable and more active in learning process, and teachers assessed that the use of Articulate Storyline 3 complied with the established learning standards and could assist students in understanding the taught material.

Abstract

This article aims to identify and analyze trends and problems in research on social media and collaborative learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) from 2018 to 2023. The author uses a bibliometric study method using Publish or Perish and bibliometric software. The research results show that 1) RQ1: Distribution of Social Media Research and Collaborative Learning in PAI Learning (2018-2023), namely research authority is focused on social media, which is connected to several themes such as Islamic religious education (PAI), and Islamic education. shows that research orientation on social media topics is used in several studies related to PAI learning and Islamic teaching. However, no one has researched the relationship between social media and collaborative learning in PAI learning. So the researcher's orientation in further research needs to be to conduct research on social media in collaborative learning in PAI subjects; 2) RQ2: Network Theme in Social Media Research and Collaborative Learning in PAI Learning, namely the distribution of publication of articles related to "social media" starting in 2019 with one piece, and there is no increase until 2021 which is only 1 article per year, then experienced an increase in 2022 by two articles, and the peak occurred in 2023 with three publications in nationally accredited journals (Sinta). Meanwhile, the publication of articles about "collaborative learning" will only start in 2022 with two pieces. There will be no increase in 2022, which will only be two articles, and in 2023, there will be a significant increase of 5 articles published in nationally accredited journals (Sinta). Meanwhile, publications about "social media and collaborative learning in PAI learning started in 2022 with 1 article and increased in 2023 with two pieces; and 3) RQ3: Authors with the most citations (2018-2023), namely the five best authors with the highest number of citations in the 2018-2023 publication period, namely Susanto & Dwijayanto (27.27%) in 2022, followed by Kambali et al . (18.19%), Lubis et al. (13.63%), and Luthfiyah et al. (13.63%).
