Abstract

Reading is a basic ability that every individual must have. With the ability to read, individuals can express thoughts or ideas for their aims and objectives. One of the reading skills is reading aloud. This research aims to apply positive reinforcement techniques to improve the ability to read aloud using flashcard media. The subjects in this study were fourth grade elementary school boys with poor ability to read aloud. The research method used is quantitative with an experimental approach. The research design used is Single Subject Research (SSR) with a single subject. Data collection techniques use observation and reading aloud indicator assessment sheets. The data analysis used is quantitative descriptive in the form of graphic analysis. The results of the study showed that there was a positive influence of positive reinforcement techniques using flashcard media on the ability to read aloud as shown by the increase in scores from the initial baseline (A1) by 5 to 8 at the final baseline (A2).

Abstract

Learning success is a goal because of the learning process. To support the success of the learning process, namely motivation, stability, maintaining motivation is an important aspect so that the learning process runs well. However, the problem is that working students are not only required to complete learning assignments in lectures but also at work. So when these tasks come together it can cause physical and emotional fatigue (burnout). This research aims to determine the influence of physical and emotional conditions on working students. The method uses quantitative with a sample of 348 semester 5 to 7 students who underwent the lecture process while working using a purposive sampling technique. Through item validity testing with product moment academic burnout 40 items, and learning motivation 25 items, it was met with a correlation coefficient of  0.30, and found a reliability of 0.909 which means very high. Analysis of the results of the partial significance test shows a sig value of 0.005  0.05, meaning that there is an influence between academic burnout and learning motivation. This shows that academic burnout has an important role in learning motivation. Keys: academic burnout, learning motivation

Abstract

High prevalence of mental health cases is not followed by optimal mental health services that are accessible to most public. Individual barriers are needed such as self-compassion skills. The aim of this research is to describe the dynamics of individual self-compassion with mental health problems. This study used a qualitative approach with a systematic literature review method. The data mining using Publish and Perish for the last 5 years of research (2019-2023), was limited to English-language, and Scopus-indexed literature by excluding proceedings and book chapters. 6 literatures most relevant to the research topic were obtained from high quality databases (Taylor & Francis, Springer Link, APA, and Oxford Academic). The result is that self-compassion has an important role in the dynamics of mental health, where increasing self-compassion can contribute to better mental health. Self-compassion important for individuals to better cope with pressure and stress, and maintain good mental health. Abstract

This research aims to describe the characteristics of each aspect of intelligence from The Stanford-Binet Form L-M Test (SB L-M), namely General Comprehension, Visual-Motor Ability, Arithmetic-Reason, Memory and Concept, Vocab and Verbal Fluency, dan Judgement and Reasoning in students with mentally retarded at Inclusion A Elementary School. It is Hoped that the results of this research can help schools to determine the cognitive baseline as a basis for Individual Educational Program (IEP) for mentally retarded students. This research uses descriptive quantitative where the SB L-M Test result data is processed in Binetgram. The subjects were all retarded mentally students at Inclusion A Elementary School. Data analysis was carried out by interpreting the comparison of CA and MA, percentile analysis of success, and analysis of the upper age limit for success in each aspect. The results showed that the research subjects were classified as mild and moderate mentally retarded. Limitation in abilty occur in all aspects, but the aspects of visual-motor ability and memory and concept are the aspects that stand out the most and have the potential to be optimized. Meanwhile, the weakest aspects are arithmetic-reason and vocab and verbal fluency. Integration of the analysis results for aech aspect with the assessment results for each subject is needed as a baseline for creating a IEP.

Abstract

The end of the Covid-19 pandemic apparently did not make students' academic stress levels return to normal. Two factors that influence academic stress are resilience and academic motivation. Apart from that, the age factor is also suspected to be a moderator variable in the influence of academic motivation on academic stress. This research aims to determine the role of resilience and academic motivation on academic stress and how age is a moderator variable in the influence of academic motivation on academic stress. The subjects in this research were 272 students from universities in Gorontalo. The measuring instruments used in this research are the academic stress perception scale from Bedewy and Gabriel (2015), the short resilience scale developed by Smith, Dalen, Wiggins, Tooley, Christopher, and Bernard (2008), and the academic motivation scale from Natalya (2018). Data analysis shows that resilience (ꞵ= -0.264, p= <0.001) and academic motivation (ꞵ= 0.164, p= 0.007) influence academic stress. It was also found that age was a moderator in the influence of academic motivation on academic stress (ꞵ= 0.768, p=0.022)
