Abstract

Digital da'wah is not merely a response to technological advancements but also an adaptive prophetic communication strategy in addressing contemporary challenges. This study aims to understand the concept of digital da'wah, the prophetic communication strategies embedded within it, and its relevance in facing the challenges of the modern era. The research employs a literature review methodology. The findings indicate that through information and communication technology, digital da'wah enables the broader, more relevant, and interactive dissemination of Islamic teachings. By emphasizing authenticity, credibility, context, engagement, creativity, and relevance to contemporary settings, digital da'wah can serve as an effective medium for spreading messages of inclusivity, tolerance, and rahmatan lil ‘alamin (a mercy to all creation). The implications of this study highlight digital da'wah as a means for da'wah practitioners to overcome contemporary challenges, expand the reach of da'wah, and contribute positively to strengthening religious understanding and Islamic values in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to model the spatial distribution of tuberculosis (TB) cases in Makassar City in 2022 using the Geographically Weighted Poisson Regression (GWPR) approach. This method extends Poisson regression by incorporating spatial heterogeneity, weighting each location based on its geographical proximity. Two types of kernel weighting functions, fixed Gaussian kernel and fixed bi-square kernel, were used to determine the most effective model for identifying key factors influencing TB case numbers. The parameter estimation results indicate that the GWPR model with fixed bi-square kernel performs better than the global Poisson regression model, achieving an Akaike’s Information Criterion (AIC) value of 97.69 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 99.93%. The findings reveal that the relationship between predictor variables and TB cases varies across districts, with the percentage of the productive-age population and population density emerging as dominant factors. These results highlight the advantages of the GWPR approach in capturing spatial dynamics more effectively than conventional regression models, making it a powerful analytical tool for designing targeted, region-specific public health interventions.

Abstract

Time management is the achievement of the main goals of life as a result of setting aside meaningless activities that often take up a lot of time. Time management is a decision made by each person in managing time to achieve a planned goal. This research method uses descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach. The population in this study was The sample in this study was class IX-2 as a control class totaling 36 students and class IX-3 as an experimental class totaling 38 students. The data in this study were processed using the SPSS 24 Application with multiple linear regression tests. The results of the study showed that partially or T Test the Time Management and Problem Solving Ability variables had a positive and significant effect on the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) Learning Model Variable, this can be seen from the T count> T table with a sig value of 0.000 <0.05. While simultaneously or F Test had a positive and significant effect, this can be seen from the F count> F table with a sig value of 0.000 <0.05.

Abstract

The essence of all activities carried out by humans in their daily lives shows that humans are social beings who communicate with one another. Communication patterns within each group or organization are crucial to unite the differences that exist in each individual, including characteristics, status, roles, and responsibilities within an institution or organization. Implementing communication within an organization is one way to prevent and address conflicts. The communication process in an organization will run smoothly if the conflict management follows the correct procedures. The theory used in this research is the conflict theory introduced by Max Weber, which states that the conflicting interests of individuals or groups are the most important determinants in the organization of social life. The aim of this research is to describe the communication conflicts in the case study of the Democratic political party organization, focusing on the role of its leader. The method used in this research is a literature review from various sources such as articles, journals, and books. The results of this study indicate that an organization will succeed in managing conflicts if it is guided by human resources (leaders) who possess several essential criteria, namely good communication patterns.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of location, service quality, and price perception on purchasing decisions at Yuki Store in Rantau Prapat, North Sumatra. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach. The population consists of customers who have made purchases at Yuki Store in Rantau Prapat, with a sample size of 96 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 4 application. The results indicate that location has a t-statistic value of 1.273, service quality has a t-statistic of 1.990, and price perception has a t-statistic of 2.120. Although the location does not have a significant effect on purchasing decisions, service quality and price perception significantly influence purchasing decisions. The p-value for location is 0.203 (> 0.05), and for service quality and price perception, it is less than 0.05, demonstrating that service quality and price perception have significant positive effects on purchase decisions. The study provides valuable insights for the management of Yuki Store to focus on improving service quality and price perception to enhance consumer purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Nonverbal communication (NVC) plays a crucial role in the teaching and learning process, especially in facilitating students’ understanding and engagement. However, its use sometimes is overlooked by the teacher. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the kinds of NVC used by teachers in classroom interaction. It used qualitative research. Two EFL lecturers were chosen as the subject of this study. It was held at the Undergraduate Program of the English Education Department of Universitas Negeri Makassar. Observation checklists and classroom observations were used to gather the data. The interactive model of data analysis technique, which includes data collecting, data display, data condensation, and conclusion-drawing or verification, was used to analyze the observational data. The findings revealed that all kinds of NVC were utilized by the teachers. It included the use of gesture, movement, facial expression, eye contact, touch, and distance. It is intended that this study will help the teachers, especially English teacher to improve their communication skills by utilizing nonverbal communication in classroom interaction.

Abstract

This study examines the role of polysemy awareness of the verbs get and make through learning podcasts in improving EFL students’ collocational speaking ability. The basis of this study is the finding that the meaning variation of polysemous words often causes collocational errors in spoken language. At the same time, podcasts provide rich audio contexts that facilitate semantic comprehension. The study's objectives were to test the effectiveness of increasing polysemy awareness of collocational speaking accuracy and fluency and to explore the learning mechanisms of participants. The Mixed-Methods Sequential Explanatory Method was applied through a quantitative phase, pre-test and post-test of speaking collocations on 60 EFL students randomly divided into experimental and control groups, followed by a qualitative phase in the form of stimulated-recall interviews with 10 participants. The collocation assessment instrument showed high inter-rater reliability (α = 0.87). The quantitative results indicated a significant increase in accuracy (p < 0.05; d > 0.8) and a 20% increase in fluency scores in the experimental group. The qualitative findings revealed that participants utilized audio context clues to distinguish polysemous meanings before selecting collocations, shifting from a rote strategy to a contextual approach. In conclusion, integrating polysemy awareness in podcast materials effectively improves speaking collocational ability and strengthens the theory of contextual semantic learning. The implications of this study include the development of audio modules focused on polysemy semantics, teacher training, and further research on long-term retention and adaptation of materials based on proficiency.
