Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the strategies used by English teachers in implementing learning during online classes. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach through interviews. The participants in this study were 2 English teachers from Makassar National Vocational School. The data in this study were obtained through 3 parts of interviews with a total of ten questions. The findings show that the strategies used by English teachers in implementing learning during online classes are diagnostic assessment and discovery learning using several applications including WhatsApp, Zoom, Google Classroom, YouTube, Google Forms, and the Google search engine. Teachers used several other strategies involving peer tutoring, using school facilities, implementing synchronous online learning, and parental counseling to overcome challenges. Therefore, it is recommended for teachers to continue to use or apply a combination of strategies that they have implemented. In addition, because there are also several strategies discussed in this study, readers of this study, especially teachers, can also use other strategies and technologies to increase the variety of their learning activities. Finally, during the observation of the application of discovery learning, the teacher used it to recount text materials with a combination of writing and speaking projects. It has the potential to be used differently in different material focuses and skills. So, it is also suggested that future researchers be more specific with certain aspects of teaching English such as language skills, or certain materials to enrich data related to that field.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the disclosure of zero hunger SDGs in each sub-sector of livestock feed that has been listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. Indonesia is currently lacking to meet its food needs with only 21.6% supplies. The zero-hunger SDGs are aimed in eliminating the problem of hunger. One of the company's types of industries that can help achieve the goals of the zero-hunger SDGs is the livestock feed sub-sector, which produce high protein food levels, such as eggs, chickens, milk, and some foods from agriculture. This research is descriptive methods based on content analysis. The samples applied from four subsector livestock feed companies registered with the BEI in 2015–2022 (population), with the total sample 32 data analysis. The information was analyzed from sustainability reports, financial reports, and the company's website from 2015 to 2022. The research shows that almost all companies were at 33–48% (medium disclosure), which means that the feed subsector has not optimally supported SDGS zero hunger against 11 indicators on each report, especially on the information of stunting reduction. There are three information among 11 disclosures which are disclosed mostly by the animal feed sub sector industries, namely (1) the implementation of production techniques and technology; (2) ensuring animals generate high-quality; (3) sustainably produced food. This information is related to nutritional problems, like stunting. In contrast, there are two pieces of information which have been least disclosed, including the establishment of an area, and the size of a sustainable area.

Abstract

Current study aims to measure the effect of electronic word of mouth (E-WOM) variables on consumer perceptions of the advertisement for the Something brand with the hashtag #PakaiSomethinc on TikTok social media. This research was conducted using quantitative methods with descriptive research types. The sampling technique used in this research is probability sampling with simple random sampling technique. Through sample calculation using the Bernoulli formula, a sample of 385 respondents was obtained. Empirical data were collected through a Google Form-based questionnaire and data were analyzed using the Normality test, heteroscedasticity test, correlation coefficient test, coefficient of determination, simple linear regression. The findings in this study indicate that the electronic word of mouth strategy which includes the quantity, credibility, and quality of information contained in the E-WOM #PakaiSomething strategy on the TikTok platform can significantly influence consumer perceptions. The results of the correlation coefficient test of 0.789 provide an understanding that the relationship between the two variables is included in the "Very Strong" category. Calculation of the coefficient of determination also confirms that the consumer perception variable can be explained or predicted by 62.3% by electronic word of mouth (E-WOM) variables. While the remaining 37.7% (100% - 62.3%) can be explained by other factors not examined in this study. This research is able to make a theoretical contribution to the literature and practically for Something to strengthen its brand and products so that the E-WOM strategy can run successfully and be able to create a positive impression in the minds of consumers
