Abstract

Mental health problems in adolescents are a serious health problem. There is an increase in mental health problems in adolescents. Knowledge is one of the contributing factors. Mental health knowledge can make the right decisions about their own mental well-being and seek help when they need it. Health education is an effort to increase knowledge. Many studies use health media to increase mental health knowledge. The novelty in this study is the use of local language health pocket books. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of health education using local language mental health pocket books on adolescent knowledge of mental health. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with a Pretest and Posttest two Group Design research design. The sample size was 150 respondents, with a sampling technique: purposive sampling. Data collection using a knowledge questionnaire in the pre-test and post-test. The results of the study using the Wilcoxon test showed that health education using local language books was effective in increasing adolescent mental health knowledge with a p value of 0.000 (p <0.05). In conclusion, local language Mental Health Books can be used to improve adolescent mental health knowledge.

Abstract

Triage nurses have an important role to save patients, patients who come to the emergency department are stabilized and categorized based on severity. The accuracy of triage is a guarantee of patient safety. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the level of nurse knowledge and the accuracy of triage in patients in the emergency department. The research design in this study used a quantitative research design with a cross sectional approach. Research data were collected using a research instrument with a questionnaire of nurse knowledge and Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) triage accuracy. Data were analyzed with the SPSS program presented in the form of frequency tables and cross tables to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and accuracy of triage. Data analysis using Kendall's test. The results of the study obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 (<0.005), it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of nurse knowledge and the accuracy of triage in patients. The Correlation Coefficient value is positive at 0.648, it can be concluded that the direction of the relationship between the two variables is unidirectional and has a strong relationship, this shows that a good level of nurse knowledge will affect the accuracy of appropriate triage, in this case the nurse's knowledge about triage is very important and needs to be improved so that the accuracy of triage is in accordance with the patient's condition.

Abstract

Pre-hospital delay is a medical term that refers to the time spent from the onset of the first symptoms or signs of stroke until the patient arrives at a medical service or hospital for treatment. There are several factors that influence the delay in treatment (prehospital delay) for stroke, including age, gender, residence status. educational factors, economic level, distance from residence, time of stroke, type of transportation, and family response. The aim of this research is to determine the factors that influence pre-hospital delay in stroke patients. The research design uses quantitative correlational with cross sectional. Sampling used probability sampling with the allocation proportional cluster random sampling technique with a total of 78 respondents. Data were collected using observation and questionnaires. Chi square test apply and multivariate using multiple logistic regression test. The results showed that the variable factors were age (p. 0.466 > 0.05), gender (p. 0.972 > 0.05), residence status (p. 0.000 < 0.05), education level (p. 0.000 < 0.05), economic level (p . 0.002 < 0.05), distance of residence (p. 0.003 < 0.05), time of attack (p. 0.000 < 0.05), transportation obtained (p. 0.000 < 0.05) and family response variables (p. 0.000 < 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that the family response was OR=15.026, followed by the education variable OR=8.335, and the time of stroke OR=8.143. The conclusion is that the family response has a 15 times chance or is the most dominant influence on pre-hospital delay in stroke patients at the Gorontalo Provincial Regional Hospital

Abstract

Poor sleep quality is a common issue among students, negatively impacting their physical health, mental well-being, and academic performance. Buteyko breathing technique is a non-pharmacological method that has the potential to improve sleep quality by normalizing breathing patterns. This study aims to analyze the effect of Buteyko breathing technique on the sleep quality of students. The research employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, utilizing the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) as an instrument. The sample consisted of 30 final-year nursing students with sleep disturbances, selected through purposive sampling. The intervention involved level 1 Buteyko breathing exercises conducted twice daily, in the morning and evening, over one week. Sleep quality was measured using the PSQI, and data analysis was performed using paired t-tests. The results showed that the mean sleep quality score decreased from 13.07 (poor category) before the intervention to 8.47 after the intervention (p = 0.000). The most significant improvement was observed in the sleep duration component, with a mean reduction of 0.9 points. The Buteyko breathing technique effectively improved the students' sleep quality and can be considered a complementary therapy for addressing sleep disturbances to students.
