Abstract

Abstract: The rapid development of digital technology has significantly influenced students’ lives, both academically and socially. Along with the ease of accessing information and communication, students are also confronted with various ethical challenges that may affect their character formation. This study aims to examine students’ understanding of Christian ethics, analyze its role in character formation, and explore the application of Christian ethical values in digital life. This research employed a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms involving 50 Christian university students. The results indicate that students’ understanding of Christian ethics is categorized as very high. Most respondents reported applying Christian ethical values, such as honesty, responsibility, love, and discipline, in their digital activities. Furthermore, more than 90% of respondents agreed that Christian ethics plays a significant role in shaping students’ character in the digital era. Therefore, Christian ethics is proven to be relevant and contributes positively to the development of students’ character in responding wisely and responsibly to the challenges of digital life.   Keywords: Christian ethics, student character, digital era

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the influence of lecturers’ leadership style on students’ learning motivation in the Sociology Education Study Program. The background of this research is based on the low participation and learning motivation of students, which is suspected to be influenced by lecturers’ leadership styles that tend to be monotonous and less interactive. The research method employed is a quantitative approach with a simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, and simple linear regression with SPSS version 20. The results show that all instruments are valid and reliable. The simple linear regression analysis indicates that leadership style has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning motivation, amounting to 14.8%. This means that leadership style plays a role in influencing students’ learning motivation, but it is not the main factor in determining it. The implications of this study highlight the need to develop more effective, communicative, and participatory leadership styles, while also considering other factors such as interest and talent, facilities, and social support to enhance students’ learning motivation in the learning process.   Keywords: Leadership Style, Learning Motivation, Students

Abstract

Abstract Digital disruption has brought fundamental changes to the mindset, lifestyle, relational patterns, and identity formation of Generation Z, who from birth have lived within an ecosystem of technology, social media, and unlimited information flows. This reality shapes a character that is adaptive, fast-paced, and highly visual, yet at the same time vulnerable to distraction, fragmented attention, and dependence on digital validation. Amid these advances, a spiritual crisis has emerged, marked by relativism of truth, subjectivity in understanding faith, and a tendency toward shallow and individualistic spirituality. Faith is often influenced by digital trends and momentary emotional experiences rather than by a sustained process of character formation within the faith community. This study aims to analyze the impact of digital disruption on the spirituality of Generation Z and to examine the challenges faced by Christian Religious Education in responding to this phenomenon. Using a descriptive qualitative method through a literature study approach, the research explores theological works, Christian education studies, and social studies on digital culture. The findings indicate that Christian Religious Education must transform from a cognitive approach into reflective, contextual, and transformative faith formation by integrating digital literacy with theological depth. In doing so, Generation Z can build an identity rooted in Christ and live out their faith authentically amid the dynamics of the digital world.   Keywords: Digital Disruption, Generation Z, Spiritual Crisis, Christian Religious Education, Faith Formation
