This study aims to determine the level of basic basketball technical skills in basketball athletes of SMA Negeri 4 Pasuruan City. This research is included in a quantitative descriptive study with the subject being athletes of SMA Negeri 4 Pasuruan City totaling 22 people. The research sample used the total sampling method. The method used in this study is a survey method with data collection techniques using the Johnson Basketball Test instrument consisting of Passing and throwing the ball at the target that has been made. 2. Dribble, passing through obstacles with zig-zag counting time until crossing the finish line. 3. Shooting, shooting the ball close to the ring, and counting the number of balls that enter. The results of this study were then converted into T scores. For each passing category there are 9 with an average of 16.86 athletes in the good category, dribbling there are 7 athletes with an average of 8.011 in the sufficient category, shooting there are 8 athletes with an average of 20.40 in the good category. Abstract

Background: The prevalence of obesity has become a global issue affecting all countries. Physical activity and sedentary behavior are believed to be key factors contributing to obesity. Objective: This study aims to examine the relationship between physical activity and sedentary behavior with Body Mass Index (BMI) using machine learning algorithms. Method: A total of 280 students from various programs at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia participated in this study (101 males and 179 females), aged between 17 and 23 years. Physical activity was measured using the Actigraph GT3X accelerometer. Seven machine learning algorithms—including Naïve Bayes, Support Vector Machine (SVM), local k-nearest neighbors (KNN), Classification via Regression (CVR), decision tree, random forest, and artificial neural network (ANN)—were applied to predict obesity risk. The RapidMiner software was used for testing. Results: Based on the variables of physical activity, sedentary behavior, and demographic factors, SVM demonstrated the highest accuracy (74.22%) among the algorithms. For sensitivity and specificity, ANN and decision tree performed best, with values of 72.27% and 77.5%, respectively. Conclusion: Physical activity, total Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET), and sedentary duration are significant predictors of obesity risk. Promoting physical activity and implementing campus policies are essential to reduce obesity prevalence among students.

Abstract

: In an effort to improve the performance of athletes in sports, there is no other way than by training, practicing seriously and earnestly guided by a well-planned and arranged training program. The phenomenon that often occurs is that there are still many trainers who do not understand how to determine the dose of the right training aspects and in accordance with the needs of athletes and the demands of sports with the situation and conditions of uncertain sports calendarization. Therefore, it is necessary to model or engineer training so that with the time available, a little training process can be useful and meaningful for improving the physical quality of athletes. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the application of undulating training periodization based on exercise goals on increasing power endurance. The research method is experimental, with the design used is one group pretest-posttest, and the sample is 15 people. The power endurance instrument used is the multistage hurdle jump test to measure the lower body, and the clapping push up test to measure the upper body. For data analysis using paried sample t test. The results showed that there was an increase in power endurance after being given a strength training program with undulating periodization based on exercise goals, both for the lower body and upper body. This is evidenced by the results of data processing which shows the significance value of lower body and upper body power endurance 0.00 <0.05. The conclusion is that the application of an exercise program with undulating periodization based on exercise objectives has a significant impact on increasing power endurance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between personality types and intimacy of handball coach-athletes. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a significant relationship between personality types and intimacy of handball coach-athletes in facing PON NTT and NTB. The subjects in this study were handball athletes representing West Java in the XXII PON NTT AND NTB totaling 28 people. Data collection using the Personality Type scale To categorize individuals in personality types, researchers used the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) measuring tool with a total of 60 question items and the coach-athlete intimacy scale using the Coach-Athlete Relationship Questionnaire (CART-Q) with a total of 11 questions. The approach to this research is quantitative descriptive. The relationship criteria are based on p value> 0.05 then Ho is accepted, Ha is rejected and if p value <0.05 then Ho is rejected, Ha is accepted. So it can be stated that there is a significant relationship between personality type and the intimacy of the West Java handball coach-athletes in facing the XXII NTT and NTB PON.

This paper uses a descriptive method with a non-experimental design. The population in this paper is karate athletes in the kumite category in Garut Regency, totaling 57 people. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, so that the total sample in this paper is 17 people. Data collection in this study used observation, questionnaires and interviews. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of emotions in the form of internal factors of 82.07% (high category) on athletes when competing, in addition to internal factors there is also an influence of external factors of 17.92% (moderate category) on karate athletes when competing in the kumite category. Recognizing the emotions that will arise when competing is a way for athletes to control their emotions when competing.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of physical fitness possessed by physical education students at Dehasen University, Bengkulu. This study is a quantitative descriptive study using a survey method. The sampling technique used in this study is random sampling, which is a technique for taking samples from a population randomly and using the principle of probability in determining the sample elements. The subjects in this study were 249 students of the Physical Education Department, Dehasen University, Bengkulu, semester 3, class of 2023, and in determining the sample using the Slovin formula with an error rate of 20% which then got a result of 10.96 which was then rounded up to 11 samples. This study is a quantitative descriptive study that uses a survey method. In this study, the sampling technique used is random sampling, where the research sampling technique in this study was carried out randomly and used the principle of probability in determining the sample elements. This study in its data collection technique uses tests and measurements of the Indonesian Physical Fitness Level (TKJI) aged 16-19 years. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis which is then expressed in the form of percentage figures. Based on the results of the research that has been done, the results of the physical fitness level of physical education students at Dehasen University, Bengkulu were obtained. The assessment was based on 5 items of the Indonesian Physical Health Test, namely 30-meter sprint, Pull-UP, Sit-UP, Vertical, and the last was medium-distance running. The results of data analysis from the measurement test based on the TKJI calculation benchmark obtained data and values which were then categorized into five categories, namely very good, good, moderate, less, and very less. Of the 11 students who received the Very Good category, there was 1 person, the Good category was 6 people, the Moderate category was 4 people, the Less category was 0 people, and the last category was the Very Less category was 0 people, and from the entire test sample, the average category was GOOD.

Abstract

Shooting skills are an important aspect in various disciplines, including sports, and have attracted widespread attention from academic circles. This study aims to map emerging trends and topics in shooting skill studies over the past four decades using a bibliometric analysis approach. A total of 132 documents indexed in Scopus were analyzed using software such as VOSviewer and RStudio to evaluate publication trends, author contributions, institutional affiliations, country of origin, and frequently used keywords. The results show a significant increase in the number of publications after 2010, with a peak in 2023, reflecting the increasing academic interest in this topic. Authors such as Benton and Kingsley, as well as countries such as China, Indonesia, and the United States, stand out as major contributors. Thematic analysis identified key themes related to motor skills such as stability, accuracy, and agility, while recent trends focus on the use of advanced technologies such as virtual reality. The study also highlights the importance of international collaboration in advancing studies in this field. In conclusion, the integration of technology and interdisciplinary approaches offers great opportunities for developing shooting skill research in the future. These findings provide important contributions to understanding the development of literature in the field of sports science and open new directions for further research.
