Abstract

In society, buying and selling practices are often carried out without proper understanding of their compliance with sharia principles. One example is the deferred payment sale (jual beli secara tangguh) of dolomite fertilizer in Wadeng Village, Sidayu Sub-district, Gresik Regency, which has emerged as a solution to farmers’ limited capital. However, this practice raises several concerns from a sharia perspective, such as price markup, unclear contract terms, and the potential elements of riba and gharar. This study aims to examine the conformity of such practices with the principles of Islamic economics. The research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that although the deferred system offers convenience to farmers, there are deviations from sharia principles, particularly in price transparency, clarity of payment deadlines, and the absence of written contracts. Therefore, there is a need for better understanding and education regarding sharia contracts, particularly bai’ muajjal, to ensure that transactions are conducted fairly and in accordance with Islamic guidelines. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how the use of digital technology can increase sales in the goat trading industry and how its implementation is viewed from the perspective of Islamic business ethics. Digital transformation has brought significant changes to trade patterns, including in traditional livestock sectors such as the goat trade. Through digital platforms such as social media, marketplaces, and instant messaging applications, goat breeders and traders can reach a wider market, increase price transparency, and expedite transaction processes. This research uses a qualitative case study approach to examine several goat trading businesses that have implemented digital technology in their operations. The research findings indicate that digital technology can significantly increase sales and business performance. From the perspective of Islamic business ethics, the use of this technology is considered positive if its application aligns with the principles of honesty (shidq), justice (adl), openness (transparency), and does not contain elements of fraud (gharar) or usury (riba). Thus, digitalization in the goat trade not only contributes to economic growth but can also align with Islamic values if managed ethically and responsibly

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Islamic boarding school ecosystem as a center for business incubation based on Islamic values, using a case study of the Al-Mashduqiah Islamic Boarding School in Patokan, Kraksaan, Probolinggo. As an Islamic educational institution undergoing transformation, Islamic boarding schools now function not only as centers of education and da'wah, but also as drivers of the community's economy through the development of cooperatives and student business units. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of pesantren caregivers, cooperative administrators, santri, and the surrounding community. The results show that the Al-Mashduqiah Islamic Boarding School Cooperative (Kopontren) plays a strategic role in creating an independent and sustainable business ecosystem for Islamic boarding schools. Through cooperative units, boarding school wholesalers, and santripreneur training activities, Islamic boarding schools are able to combine spiritual, social, and economic values into a single practice-based learning system. Kopontren Al-Mashduqiah functions effectively as a sharia business incubation center, which not only meets the economic needs of the pesantren, but also fosters the entrepreneurial spirit of santri and strengthens the economic independence of the community. It also serves as a pesantren business incubation ecosystem that not only supports the internal economic needs of the pesantren, but also becomes a medium for learning, character building, and real Islamic economic da'wah. Keywords: ecosystem, business incubation, pesantren.

Abstract

The development of financial digitalization today encourages Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) to adopt more effective and efficient financial service systems. The presence of a fingerprint-based cashless system serves as a form of modernization and enhancement of financial transparency in pesantren, which typically involve numerous economic activities. This study aims to examine and analyze the benefits, implications, and challenges of implementing a fingerprint-based cashless system in improving students financial discipline. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method by conducting observations, documentations, and interviews with students and the management of TMI Al-Amien Prenduan as direct users of the fingerprint-based cashless system in their daily payment activities. The findings indicate that the fingerprint-based cashless system simplifies students daily transactions, increases the efficiency of pesantren financial services, strengthens transparency, and enhancing discipline in the financial management of the students. The system also enables more accurate and structured financial monitoring, particularly for parents or guardians who can directly track their childrens spending activities through an application integrated into their mobile devices. However, several challenges persist, including the risk of consumptive behavior due to transaction convenience, limited digital literacy among some students, and data security issues that require serious attention. Overall, the implementation of the fingerprint-based cashless system is considered effective in supporting the modernization and accountability of pesantren financial management. Its successful implementation of fingerprint-based cashless requires support in financial literacy, consumption pattern education, and the application of Islamic economic principles to create a safe and proportional financial digitalization.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Islamic financial literacy, religiosity, and digital banking on millennials’ intention to use Islamic banking services. Despite the significant growth of Islamic banking in Indonesia, its market share remains below its potential, particularly among the millennial segment, which is characterized by strong technological adaptability. A quantitative approach was employed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Data were collected from 150 millennial respondents aged 25–40 years through a structured questionnaire. The measurement model assessment confirmed adequate convergent validity, discriminant validity, and reliability across all constructs. The structural model results indicate that Islamic financial literacy, religiosity, and digital banking positively and significantly influence the intention to use Islamic banks. The model explains 68.2% of the variance in behavioral intention (R² = 0.682). Among the predictors, digital banking emerged as the most dominant factor, highlighting the critical role of technological convenience, accessibility, and service efficiency in shaping millennials’ banking preferences. These findings suggest that strengthening digital transformation strategies, alongside enhancing Islamic financial literacy and value-based engagement, is essential for increasing Islamic banking adoption among younger generations.

Abstract

The development of the Sharia-based financial and business industry in Indonesia has driven an increase in economic transactions using Sharia contracts. On the other hand, this dynamic has also given rise to various disputes related to breach of contract, contract enforcement, and differences in interpretation of Sharia contracts. In certain circumstances, these disputes cannot be resolved through non-litigation channels and must be pursued through litigation in the courts. Therefore, the role of advocates is crucial in formulating litigation strategies that are not only based on positive law but also consider the principles of Sharia economics. This study aims to analyze the strategies and practices of advocates in handling Sharia economic dispute litigation, specifically the advocacy practices carried out by advocates at the Karimata Law Firm. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with advocates experienced in handling Sharia economic cases, observations of advocates' work processes in handling cases, and documentation and literature review related to Sharia economic law and litigation practices. The collected data was then analyzed qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to gain a comprehensive understanding of advocacy strategies for resolving Sharia economic disputes through litigation. The research findings indicate that the practice of Sharia economic dispute litigation has unique characteristics that require advocates to integrate an understanding of positive law with Sharia economic principles. An effective litigation strategy begins with an in-depth case analysis, including examining contract documents, identifying potential breaches of contract, and mapping the parties' legal positions. Furthermore, the success of a case is greatly influenced by the advocate's ability to develop systematic and evidence-based legal arguments. The research findings also indicate that an advocate's practical experience plays a crucial role in understanding trial dynamics and formulating appropriate strategies during the litigation process. Furthermore, good communication between the advocate and the client is a supporting factor in maintaining information consistency and strengthening the legal position in court. Therefore, the success of Sharia economic dispute litigation is determined not only by the normative aspects of the law but also by the advocate's professional competence in managing a structured advocacy strategy aligned with the values of justice in Sharia principles.
