Journal of Health Community Service as an International Journal focuses on community service program to advance theories, research and practices related to all forms of outreach and community service, which have developing health community. Community service means services to society, especially in health sector, applying science and technology based on their field, increasing the capacity of society and community empowerment. The journal draws on existing issues from that health of field. This includes highlighting innovation of community empowerment, and reporting on health research, community-based research, action research, and community services, as well as improving the knowledge and practice in the field of health community.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem due to a lack of nutritional intake for a long period of time, resulting in impaired growth in children. Prevention of this problem is still being sought, because the stunting rate is still high until now, especially in the environment in Banjaran village, Driyorejo Gresik district. The purpose of this counseling or education is so that mothers get enough knowledge to overcome stunting in toddlers. The implementation of this counseling activity is attractive, where participants are asked to answer questions from the presenter that have been given in the question answer sheet, in each question there will be a discussion related to this given by the speaker later. The results and discussions of the average score before and after counseling were 67, while the score after counseling was obtained on average 77.5. Results obtained with a p-value of 0.001 then H0 rejected. So it can be concluded that there is The effect of providing counseling or education on stunting prevention to toddlers through the One Group Pretest Posttest approach to Posyandu Toddler cadres in Banjaran village, Driyorejo District, where there is an increase in the knowledge of Posyandu toddler cadres related to stunting prevention in toddlers by 15% before and after counseling and education is given.

Abstract

Hypertension is a big problem in Indonesia. With increasing age, health problems are of course more and more suffered by the elderly, this is due to a decrease in the human immune system. Health problems that are often experienced are hypertension, cholesterol, gout. The aim of this activity is to improve the health of the people of Gadung Village through free health checks and health education as a preventive and promotive effort. This activity is a free health check for the elderly which is carried out for one day, starting with a survey to determine the location, time, equipment, and related parties who ensure the location is easily accessible and well prepared. Preparation involves planning activities, event concepts, and equipment such as tables, chairs, and medical equipment. The implementation of the activity was coordinated with the village head, midwives, and local nurses, taking place on July 31, 2023 at the Gadung Village Hall. The results of the activity showed positive achievements. Of the 48 participants who attended, most received direct benefits, such as health consultations and vitamin provision. Several participants who were detected as having diabetes complaints received follow-up in the form of medication and further medical advice from local midwives.

Abstract

Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure in the arteries. Hypertension is an asymptomatic condition, in which abnormally high pressure in the arteries leads to an increased risk of stroke, aneurysm, heart failure, heart attack and kidney damage. One of the non-pharmacological therapies to reduce hypertension is a decoction of kersen leaves. To identify the level of knowledge that kersen leaf boiled water can help reduce hypertension in Mojosarirejo Village, Driyorejo District, Gresik Regency in 2023. The method used is the lecture method with the media of posters and leaflets. From the results of the study, there were 34 respondents who had knowledge about the benefits of kersen leaf decoction for hypertension patients, namely 5 people (15%), while those who did not have Knowledge about the benefits of kersen leaf decoction for hypertension patients is as many as 29 people (85%).

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that has a serious impact on children's growth and development. This counseling aimed to analyze the influence of the program on Complementary Foods for Breastfeeding (MPASI) on public knowledge about stunting. This counseling was carried out in Petiken Village, Driyorejo District, Gresik Regency. The research method used is an observational method with a pretest-posttest approach. The results of the data analysis show that the extension program has a significant positive impact in increasing public knowledge about stunting and the provision of complementary foods. Posttest data is normally distributed, while pretest data is not normally distributed. The recommendation of this study is the need to develop a broader and integrated extension program with existing health resources.

Abstract

The Zero Waste Healthy Home Movement has become the main focus in efforts to create a clean, healthy and sustainable environment. In an effort to achieve this goal, magot cultivation innovation is a promising solution. This study aims to describe the role of maggot cultivation as part of the Zero Waste Healthy Home Movement and its potential as a new leading entrepreneurial product in improving the welfare of MSMEs. Maggot, as a processed product from organic waste, has high economic and ecological added value. Maggot-based products can be marketed as high quality organic fertilizers that are environmentally friendly, as well as various other products such as animal feed and health products. Through magot cultivation innovations, MSMEs have the opportunity to earn additional income and improve the welfare of residents in Glindah Village

Abstract

Water is the source of life on earth. Clean water is a basic human need. The limited availability of water and the ever-increasing population has led to a drinking water crisis. The water emits an unpleasant odor and has a cloudy color, as experienced by the residents of Tulung village. This area is located in Kedamean District, Gresik Regency. This village is an area that does not yet have PDAM water supply. Most residents of Tulung Village still use the reservoir water for drinking, cooking, bathing and washing. To overcome these problems, one of the alternative solutions so that reservoir water can meet the physical, chemical and bacteriological requirements is to purify the water using the filtration method. Filtration method is the process of filtering water to remove suspended solids from water through a porous medium. Through the 2023 Real Work Program activities with the theme "Making Simple Water Filter in Tulung Village, Gresik" able to provide knowledge and understanding to the residents of Tulung Village as activity partners.
