Abstract

The spread of a pneumonia outbreak infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) from Wuhan, China, has spread globally. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been identified as the pathogen responsible for the pneumonic plague. The angiotensin conversion enzyme (ACE2) is the cellular receptor for SARS-CoV-2 entry. ACE2 is highly expressed in the epithelium of the stomach, duodenum and rectum. In infected patients, some patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 experience unusual symptoms, namely gastrointestinal symptoms, namely diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. This study aims to detect the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 gene in stool samples from COVID-19 survivors using the method real time RT-PCR as the gold standard for confirming COVID-19 with the RdRp and Helicase (ORF1b) target genes. There were 12 samples of COVID-19 survivors who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that of the 12 samples, 2 samples were positive for SARS-CoV-2 RNA with Ct values of 32.79 and 36.86 which were detected on days 18 and 22 days after their respiratory tract tests were negative.

Abstract

Sleep disorders are a common problem in babies, including babies aged 3-6 months. Murrotal Al-Qur'an therapy is a therapy that can be used to treat sleep disorders in babies. This therapy is carried out by playing Al-Qur'an readings before the baby sleeps. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of murrotal Al-Qur'an therapy on the sleep quality of babies aged 3-6 months. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample was 16 babies aged 3-6 months with sleep disorders. The results of the study showed that murrotal Al-Qur'an therapy was effective in improving the sleep quality of babies aged 3-6 months. This can be seen from the increase in the average baby sleep quality score from 1.75 in the pretest to 3.25 in the posttest. The improvement in the quality of the baby's sleep can be seen from several indicators, namely: The duration of the baby's sleep has become longer, namely from an average of 7 hours to 8 hours. The baby's frequency of waking up at night decreases, from an average of 2 times to 1 time. Babies fall asleep more easily, from an average of 30 minutes to 15 minutes. Babies are calmer when sleeping, namely from an average of 50% to 75%. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that murrotal Al-Qur'an therapy is an alternative therapy that can be used to treat sleep disorders in babies aged 3-6 months.

Abstract

The birthing process is a natural and physiological process, but it can be a tiring and painful process for the birth mother. One effort to help the birthing process run smoothly is to use a birthing ball. A birth ball is a large ball that is used for sitting, squatting, or turning around during the birthing process. This study aims to determine the effect of the birthing ball on the smoothness of the birthing process for mothers giving birth at TPMB (Midwife Independent Practice) Purwakarta Regency, Indonesia. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a non-randomized control group design. The research sample was 60 primigravida mothers who were divided into two groups, namely the treatment group (30 mothers) and the control group (30 mothers). The treatment group was given a birthing ball during the birthing process, while the control group was not given a birthing ball. The results of the research show that there is an influence of the birthing ball on the smoothness of the birth process. Birthing mothers who used a birthing ball had a shorter active phase first stage time (p<0.05) and lower labor pain intensity (p<0.05) compared to birthing mothers who did not use a birthing ball. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the birthing ball is an effective non-pharmacological method to help smooth the birthing process.
