Abstract

Labor anxiety is a psychological condition experienced by most maternity mothers. Childbirth anxiety can cause various negative impacts, such as prolonged labor, surgical delivery, and even maternal death. Spiritual emotional freedom technique (SEFT) therapy is a non-pharmacological therapy that can be used to reduce labor anxiety. This study aims to analyze the effect of SEFT therapy on reducing childbirth anxiety in primigravida. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 26 primigravidas who were divided into two groups, namely the treatment group (13 people) and the control group (13 people). SEFT therapy was given to the treatment group for 3 sessions. The results of the study showed that there was a decrease in birth anxiety in the treatment group after being given SEFT therapy. This is indicated by the average value of labor anxiety in the treatment group, which decreased from 29.83 in the pretest to 21.77 in the posttest. Meanwhile, in the control group, the average value of labor anxiety did not change, namely 28.08 in the pretest and 28.08 in the posttest. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that SEFT therapy can reduce labor anxiety in primigravida.

Abstract

Tooth extraction can cause open wound in the oral cavity, if not handled properly it can cause complications such as bleeding, infection and delayed wound healing. Wound healing is a biological process associated with tissue growth and regeneration. The wound healing process can be accelerated by administering chemicals that can affect the inflammatory, proliferative and remodeling phases. One of them is by giving snakehead fish extract. The extract contains albumin, copper and zinc which play an important role in the wound healing phase. The purpose of writing this review article is to explain the mechanism of snakehead fish extract in accelerating the healing of tooth extraction wounds. Several studies have revealed that snakehead fish extract affects pro-inflammatory cytokines in helping the wound healing process and significantly helps increase the number of fibroblast cells in tooth socket wounds, so that the healing process can take place more quickly. Based on this, it can be concluded that snakehead fish extract has the potential to accelerate the healing of tooth extraction wounds.

Abstract

Alveolar bone defects pose a significant challenge in dental and oral health, requiring the exploration of novel therapeutic approaches for effective bone healing. The binahong (Anredera cordifolia) leaves are known for their rich bioactive compounds with diverse therapeutic properties, while nanogels, a drug delivery system, offer advantages such as controlled release and enhanced bioavailability. This review explores the potential of binahong leaf extract nanogel as a promising candidate for alveolar bone healing by discussing its preparation, characterization, and properties. Furthermore, it delves into the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying alveolar bone healing. Based on our review, the effects of binahong leaves extract on bone cells and animal models indicate its therapeutic potential in alveolar bone healing by increasing the expression of growth factors and cells that are essential in bone healing. This review suggests that binahong leaves extract nanogel holds promise as a novel therapeutic intervention for alveolar bone healing. Further research and clinical studies are warranted to fully explore its potential.

Abstract

Uterine involution is the process of the uterus returning to its pre-pregnancy size and weight. This process is influenced by several factors, one of which is physical activity. Yoga exercise is one of the physical activities that postpartum mothers can do. This study aims to determine the effect of yoga exercises on the uterine involution process in postpartum mothers in the work area of the Wanayasa Health Center, Purwakarta Regency, Indonesia. This research uses quantitative methods with a quasi-experimental research design. The research sample was 60 postpartum mothers who were divided into two groups, namely the intervention group (30 people) and the control group (30 people). The intervention group was given yoga exercises for 1 week, while the control group was given no intervention. The results showed that there were significant differences between the intervention group and the control group in the uterine involution process. The average decrease in uterine fundal height (TFU) in the intervention group was 0.27 cm/day, while in the control group, it was 0.67 cm/day. This shows that yoga exercise can speed up the process of uterine involution in postpartum mothers.
