Abstract

Stunting is one of the main nutritional issues that Indonesian toddlers face. The prevalence of stunting in toddlers (children under five years old) was 30.8% in 2018, according to the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) results. This dropped to 27.67% in 2019 (Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI), 2019), and then increased to 24.4% in 2021 (SSGI, 2021). The purpose of this study is to identify the risk factors for stunting in women in the Ciamis Regency working area of the Baregbeg Community Health Center who have stunted children under five in 2024. Descriptive research using a cross-sectional design was the methodology employed. Using a questionnaire, the study's population composed of all the mothers of 36 kids with stunting in the Baregbeg Health Center's working area. The majority of stunted toddlers had a history of exclusive breastfeeding (80.56%), middle class mothers in a middle educational level (55.56%), low parental income (86.11%), low birth weight babies (86.11%), infectious diarrheal diseases (86.11%), poor diet (77.78%), and an unvarried diet (88.88%), based to the research's results. To help to prevent potential problems with the child's growth and development, it is advised that moms of stunted children give their children greater care.

Abstract

Breast engorgement is the damming of milk due to constriction of the lactiferous ducts or by incomplete emptying of the glands or due to nipple abnormalities. The breasts are hot and hard to the touch and painful; the body temperature does not rise. The nipples may be flat and this makes it difficult for the baby to suckle. Sometimes the release of breast milk is also blocked because the ductuli are narrowed due to enlarged veins and lymph vessels, the purpose of this study is to determine the description of what factors cause Breast Milk Damage (ASI) in Postpartum Mothers in Baregbeg sub-district, Ciamis district in 2024 which includes age, education, occupation, parity, gestational age, and knowledge. the research used is quantitative descriptive which aims to obtain a description of the factors that cause breast milk dams in postpartum mothers. The number of samples in this study consisted of 13 postpartum women respondents. The results of this study found that most respondents aged 20-25 years were 9 people (69.3%), had a junior high school education as many as 7 people (53.84%), the gestational age of the mother was aterem as many as 12 people (92.3), maternal peritas as many as 9 people (69.23%), maternal work as many as 10 people did not work (76.92%), and sufficient knowledge as many as 8 people (61.35).

Abstract

The prevalence of dysmenorrhea, ranging from mild to severe, in Indonesia stands at 74.1%. Approximately 50% of women who menstruate suffer from dysmenorrhea, with 10% experiencing symptoms severe enough to necessitate rest, and only 1% to 2% seeking care at a health center. Among adolescent girls, the discomfort associated with menstrual pain often hinders concentration during learning activities. Dysmenorrhea can be managed through both pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods, with acupressure therapy being one of the latter. This therapy involves applying pressure with the thumb to specific points, such as the san yin jiao (SP 6) and taichong (LR 3). The aim of this research was to assess the reduction in pain levels before and after the application of acupressure therapy on adolescent girls at SMKN 1 CIAMIS. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach to illustrate the effects of acupressure therapy on dysmenorrhea in these students. A total of 93 respondents participated, with data collected directly using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and following the standard operating procedure (SOP) for acupressure. The findings revealed that prior to acupressure therapy, nearly half of the adolescents (43%) experienced moderate pain, whereas post-therapy, a similar proportion (46%) reported only mild pain. The average pain score dropped from 6.76 before therapy to 2.6.

Abstract

The level of anxiety experienced by third trimester pregnant women in Indonesia, who have anxiety when facing the labor process, is 47.7% severe anxiety, 16.9% moderate anxiety, and 35.4% experience mild anxiety. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the anxiety level of third trimester pregnant women in facing labor at TPMB Elis Marlina. This study uses a type of quantitative research with a descriptive design that aims to get an overview of the anxiety level of third trimester pregnant women in facing labor. The population in this study consisted of 30 third trimester pregnant women. The sample in this study used total sampling of 30 third trimester pregnant women. The measuring instrument used a questionnaire with direct data collection, data analysis using frequency distribution. The results of the study stated that of the 30 third trimester pregnant women, most of the 11 respondents (36.7%) experienced moderate anxiety, as many as 9 respondents (30%) severe anxiety, as many as 5 respondents (16.7%) mild anxiety, and as many as 5 respondents (16.7%) were not anxious. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the anxiety level of pregnant women at TPMB Elis Marlina is in the moderate category. It is expected to increase the provision of counseling to third trimester pregnant women about facing childbirth, or use other methods by holding pregnant women's classes to reduce anxiety facing childbirth.

Abstract

Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (EIBF) is the process where a newborn begins breastfeeding within the first hour after birth through skin-to-skin contact between the mother and baby. The implementation of EIBF is an important intervention to reduce neonatal mortality and increase exclusive breastfeeding success. However, the implementation of EIBF is still not optimal in various health facilities. This study aims to identify factors influencing the implementation of Early Initiation of Breastfeeding in newborns based on previous research findings. The method used was a literature review by analyzing scientific articles obtained from Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases published within the last 10 years. Articles were selected based on inclusion criteria relevant to the research topic. The results of the review show that factors influencing the implementation of EIBF include maternal knowledge, maternal attitudes toward breastfeeding, support from health workers, family support, mode of delivery, and health facility policies. In conclusion, the success of EIBF implementation is influenced by individual factors, health worker support, and health service system factors. Therefore, increased maternal education and strong support from health workers are needed to improve EIBF implementation.

Abstract

Labor pain is a complex experience that may affect maternal outcomes if not properly managed. Relaxation techniques are increasingly used as safe non-pharmacological interventions. To evaluate the effectiveness of relaxation techniques in reducing labor pain. A systematic review following PRISMA 2020 was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect (2019–2024). Randomized controlled trials and observational studies assessing relaxation techniques were included. Risk of bias was evaluated using RoB 2 and JBI tools. Thirty-four studies (18 RCTs, 16 observational) were included. Relaxation techniques reduced labor pain by 1.5–3.0 points on the VAS. Hypnobirthing and combined techniques showed the strongest effects, while breathing and mindfulness provided consistent moderate benefits. Relaxation techniques are effective and safe for reducing labor pain and should be integrated into midwifery care.
