Abstract

The increase number and vast of information resources in library, both internal or external resources, encourage University of Jember library to use an aplication base on Web Scale Discovery Services (WSDS) for managing open access e‐Resources. This study provide an overview of implementation open source Vufind discovery tools in order to give new e‐resources search Services at University of Jember library, so user able to access various open access databases in one indexer portal. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, with a case study approach. Data was collected by observation, interview, and document tracing methods. In this study, interviews were conducted informally, so that researchers and informants were in a natural situation. Meanwhile, data testing was carried out using the triangulation method. As results, the technical problems in implementing Vufind are in harvesting and editing metadata, because there is a lot of differences of metadata form myriad databases. Other research result show that Implementation Vufind Web Scale Discovery Services at University of Jember Library is very useful in facilitating access to various databases open access e‐resources

Abstract

The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic requires all people to stop and shift all activities outside the home to be all online, including in the education sector. The distance learning system requires learners to adapt to this new learning pattern. The existence of a digital library helps all the information needs of users during the Covid-19 pandemic through its various services that provide easy access to information needed by the public effectively. The preparation of research is intended to determine the role of digital libraries in supporting learning and providing credible information to the public by analyzing research themes/topics, research methods, and research results. This study applies a narrative literature review type literature study method to five reference sources indexed in Google Scholar with a span of the last ten years. The results showed that digital libraries with various types of services they offer can maintain the quality of information circulating among the public and facilitate access to information so that the teaching and learning process, research and development of science becomes smoother and easier even during the Emergency of the Covid-19 pandemic. Research on digital libraries uses many types of research methods such as qualitative research methods, literature study methods, and Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methods. From the five references analyzed, it can be concluded that digital libraries can be used as a tool to find and obtain learning resources and relevant information during the Covid-19 pandemic. Digital library management requires reliable librarians as parties who distribute all information and knowledge into digital form.

Abstract

Archives are important documents that function in administrative, legal, financial, organizational, historical, directive, and information functions in the realm of government. The importance of archives to be stored, preserved, and maintained is one of the reasons for writing this article. This paper describes the types of archives and the active preservation actions taken against conventional archives in the form of image sheet archives and photo archives carried out by the UPT Arsip (Record Center) Universitas Padjadjaran. This active preservation action is carried out as an effort to extend the life of archives or collections from archival institutions. The location of this research is at UPT Archives (Recording Center) Universitas Padjadjaran. This research was conducted by conducting direct observations at the UPT Archives (Record Center) Universitas Padjadjaran and conducting interviews. The research method was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method, namely by explaining the active preservation actions carried out by the UPT Archives (Recording Center) Universitas Padjadjaran. The actions taken by the UPT Arsip (Record Center) Universitas Padjadjaran are to maintain the temperature of the archives by coating the photos with tissue on each sheet and also cleaning the archives from dust. Files are also stored according to file type in roll o'packs, racks, or boxes to avoid damage to records due to dust. This article also discusses the lack of preservation efforts made by the UPT Archives (Record Center) Universitas Padjadjaran such as the amount of ventilation in the room which increases dust capacity.

Abstract

Background. This research is inspired by the results of previous research which stated that transformational leadership is an effective leadership style owned by a leader of a library organization. Therefore, the researcher examined practically related to this matter, especially in the application of the transformational leadership style applied by the leader of the IPDN Library, Jatinangor Campus. Research Methods. The research conducted presented qualitative data and researchers conducted interviews, observations and documentation in data collection. Data Analysis. Data analysis is carried out by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. Result: The researcher found that the application of the transformational leadership style at the IPDN Library of Jatinangor Campus was supported by the high commitment of the library staff. In addition, the leader of the IPDN Library of the Jatinangor Campus provides an open space for employees to be creative and provide suggestions, criticisms and ideas, especially in the decision-making process. Library leaders also routinely provide motivation and direction to instill the value of commitment to the staff of the IPDN Jatinangor Campus Library. Conclusion and Suggestion. Referring to these 8 indicators, there are 2 (two) indicators that require improvement the indicators of continuous improvement and the indicator of empowering organizational members. Researchers recommend that leaders of the IPDN Library Jatinangor Campus can take part in Leadership Training, especially those related to Higher Education Library Leadership. In addition, it is also hoped that the leader of the IPDN Library, Jatinangor Campus, can compile and carry out the division of duties and work of employees by adjusting to the functions and positions of library employees.

Abstract

Writing is like speaking verbally in that it requires ethics in producing to delivering. Therefore, this article deliberately raises the theme of Islamic ethics in the context of writing. The purpose of this writing is that in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as information managers, librarians maintain ethics anywhere and in any context, including in writing activities. This study used a qualitative research type, with data collection using interviews, observation and documentation. Interviews were carried out by purposive sampling to librarians who were active in producing papers at PTKIN in Central Java which had been indexed on Google Scholar. The results of the study inform that Islamic ethics which play a role as moral regulation in this writing activity are the prophetic characteristics of the Prophet, namely sidiq which means honest, amanah which means trustworthy, fathonah which means wise, patient, and tabligh which means having good critical power and can deliver. Librarians as human resources in an organization occupy a strategic position in determining the success of an organization. The development of science and technology provides its own challenges for HR (Librarians) to always adapt to survive and develop to become one of the keys to achieving the goals of an organization. Islamic ethics like this are expected to be well internalized into the souls of librarians who incidentally will always be related to information and the world of librarianship.

Abstract

A B S T R A C T The research aims to find out the history of literature in the Umayyad era, the Abbasid era, and find out how the relationship between this Islamic library network is. The method used in this study is to use historical research methods. Historical research also has stages of research methods. The first is finding the topic first, the next is the heuristic stage which means finding and gathering sources to be able to find out all past historical events or events, and the next stage is interpretation. The conclusion of this study is that during the Umayyad Daula period a breakthrough was made by developing private libraries, but also developing public libraries. Not a few from this era there are figures who are writers or authors of works in certain fields. Meanwhile, during the Abbasid period, it became the pinnacle of Islamic civilization. Muslim scholars who were experts in various sciences, both religious and non-religious, also appeared at this time. The development of civilization that was so rapid was also supported by the economic progress of the empire which became a link between the eastern and western worlds. Relatively good political stability, especially during the early Abbasid period, also became a trigger for the progress of Islamic civilization. Scientific relations in relation to Islamic literature is a complex relationship. From a historical point of view, this relationship has been established between the West and the East and vice versa, long before the appearance of Islam in the Arabian Peninsula, when the influence of Hellenism had spread to the eastern regions of Persia, Alexandria, Iraq. Keywords: Islamic Literature; Abbasid Daula; Umayyad Daula A B S T R A K Penelitian ini berusaha memahami hubungan antara jaringan perpustakaan Islam ini dengan sejarah sastra pada masa Bani Umayyah dan Abbasiyah. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam karya ini adalah dengan melakukan penelitian sejarah. Tahapan metodologi penelitian sering digunakan dalam studi sejarah. Menemukan topik didahulukan, kemudian muncul langkah heuristik, yaitu menemukan dan mengumpulkan informasi untuk mempelajari semua peristiwa atau peristiwa sejarah sebelumnya, dan terakhir adalah tahap interpretasi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa periode Daulah Umayyah mengalami terobosan dalam perkembangan perpustakaan baik swasta maupun umum. Ada beberapa orang dari era ini yang merupakan sastrawan atau penulis karya dalam bidang tertentu. Sementara itu terjadi, ia naik ke puncak budaya Islam selama era Abbasiyah. Pada masa ini, para ilmuwan Muslim dengan keahlian di berbagai bidang—baik agama maupun sekuler—juga mulai bermunculan. Pertumbuhan ekonomi kekaisaran, yang berfungsi sebagai jembatan antara dunia timur dan barat, berkontribusi pada perkembangan peradaban yang cepat. Stabilitas politik yang umumnya kondusif, khususnya pada periode awal Abbasiyah, menjadi katalis bagi kemajuan peradaban Islam. Ada hubungan yang rumit antara sains dan sastra Islam. Dari segi sejarah, interaksi antara Barat dan Timur dan sebaliknya ini sudah terbentuk jauh sebelum masuknya Islam di Jazirah Arab, ketika Hellenisme sudah menjangkiti wilayah timur Persia, Aleksandria, dan Irak. Kata Kunci: Kepustakaan Islam; Daulah Abbasiyah; Daulah Ummayyah.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Shopee is one of the most popular online shopping (e-commerce) platforms in Indonesia compared to other similar platforms. This platform offers the same functionality and usability as its competitors but still tops the list of the most used ones. This study aims to explain the influential factors in determining the process of adoption and recommendation of the Shopee platform among students in Surabaya. The research method used in this research is quantitative-explanatory using the theory test of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2), and by using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) data analysis, the research objects are students. The location chosen in this research is Surabaya City, which is one of the big cities that do a lot of online shopping in Indonesia. This study adds another variable that is rarely used, namely the habit variable. The data analysis used in this approach consists of two (2) evaluations, namely the evaluation of the measurement model, or outer model, and the evaluation of the structural model, or inner model. The construct in this study is a reflective construct, assessed by looking at the results of calculations for convergence validity, average variance extracted, and discriminant validity. The findings show that habits and perceived trust have an effect on behavioral intentions to adopt. This is what ultimately affects their desire to make a recommendation to other people in their social environment. Kata Kunci: (e-commerce), perceived trust, college student, behavioral intentions, UTAUT2   ABSTRAK Shopee adalah salah satu platform belanja online (e-commerce) yang paling popular di Indonesia dibandingkan dengan platform lain serupa. Platform ini menawarkan fungsi dan kegunaan yang sama dengan pesaingnya, namun tetap menampati urutan paling atas yang paling banyak digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh dalam menentukan proses adopsi dan rekomendasi platform Shopee pada kalangan mahasiswa di Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif-eksplanatif dengan menggunakan uji teori penerimaan dan penggunaan teknologi (UTAUT2), dan dengan menggunakan analisis data Partial Least Square- Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM.), objek penelitiannya adalah mahasiswa. Lokasi yang dipilih dalam penelitian adalah Kota Surabaya, yang merupakan salah satu kota besar yang banyak melakukan pembelian secara online di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menambahkan satu variabal lain yang masih jarang digunakan, yaitu variable kebiasaan atau habits. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam pendekatan ini terdiri dari dua (2) evaluasi yaitu evaluasi model pengukuran atau outer model dan evaluasi model struktural atau inner model. Konstrak dalam penelitian ini adalah konstrak reflektif, dinilai dengan melihat hasil perhitungan dari convergence validity, average variance extracted, dan discriminant validity. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa habits dan perceived trust berpengaruh terhadap behavioral intention to adopt. Inilah yang pada akhirnya mempengaruhi keinginan mereka untuk melakukan suatu rekomendasi kepada orang lain di lingkungan sosial mereka.
