Abstract

Banyuwangi is a regency with a coastline length of about 175.8 km with 10 islands. The east coast of Banyuwangi (Bali Strait) is one of the largest fish producers in East Java. Banyuwangi is the second largest producer of fishery commodities in Indonesia. One of the villages in Banyuwangi Regency, Mojopanggung Village, has the potential for a thriving squid cracker business. The management of crackers in this village has not changed significantly from year to year, 90% of the management of the ponds is done traditionally, starting from the process of making raw materials for crackers, drying crackers to the marketing process. The most common problem faced by cracker business owners is the loss caused by the rainy season. Almost 50% to 75% of the crackers are not produced in a period of 1 to 4 months due to limited sunlight as a medium for drying crackers. This is evident from the decreasing amount of production. The most influential factor is the heating medium that changes based on natural conditions. Meanwhile, the demand for all types of crackers continues to grow. In its management, one of the dynamic elements that need to be considered is the temperature of the cracker dryer. Some of the physical variables that affect the quality of the drying process are temperature, humidity, and automatic scheduling, and to support the success of the cracker drying process, these parameters really need to be known by SME cracker business owners in Banyuwangi Regency. So the need for a cheap and energy-efficient technology for the drying process of crackers, which can produce good quality crackers, so that cracker-producing SMEs can significantly increase their production without any restrictions on natural conditions.

Abstract

Electrical energy is a requirement in everyday human life. The stability of the electrical energy generation system is something that must be considered, one of the power generation instruments that are often used is a generator, which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. The generator has physical variables that must be maintained, including voltage, current and frequency. So as to know the amount of voltage and current produced by the generator, a system is made that can measure the amount of current, voltage and frequency produced by the generator with a portable system (plug and play). In this system, the generator output parameters are monitored using various sensors including the ZMPT101B voltage sensor to measure the generator output voltage, the ACS712 sensor to measure the current variable and the zero crossing detector to measure the frequency variable. From the test data of the monitoring system, the results obtained are the ZMPT101B voltage sensor which has an error reading of 0.01 for the ACS712 sensor reading error of 0.09 and for the frequency sensor reading error of 0.01. These three sensors were successfully used in the monitoring system of voltage, current and generator output frequency in the mini power plant module.

Abstract

Chillies and ginger are plantation crops in mountainous areas. One form of processing is by drying. The purpose of drying is to reduce the water content of plantation products. Natural drying requires the sun as a heating source with temperatures around 50˚C-60˚C, which is a problem in the mountains because the temperature is below average so it takes a long time. Natural drying has a dependence on sunlight and also a low level of hygiene. In this Research, a solar-powered Automatic Oven Machine prototype is made for chilli and ginger drying in mountainous areas. The solar-powered system as a supplier of electrical energy uses a solar panel Automatic Transfer Switch system. The selection of the title Automatic Solar Powered Oven Machine for Chilli and Ginger Dryer in Mountainous Areas aims to solve the problem of drying in mountainous areas which can cause a decrease in price and quality due to spoilage. The time used for testing this research tool is 6.53 hours, so the power required is 1506.95 Wh. The results of this study obtained the static characteristics of the temperature sensor have an accuracy of 99.21% and an error of 0.79%, while the weight sensor has an accuracy of 99.36% and an error of 0.64%. Max. overshoot at set point 50OC is 6.44% with a stedy state error of 5.46%.

Abstract

An automatic fire extinguishing system prototype has been designed. This design consists of software and hardware design. Software design involves sensors, actuators, controllers, sim900 modules and website interfaces. Hardware design is to make a prototype fire extinguishing system. Fire extinguishing system testing is done by testing the system's components such as sensors, actuators, sim900 modules, and website responses to the database. LM35 Sensor testing resulted in a measurement error of 3.29% with a measurement accuracy of 96.8% and MQ135 Sensor testing resulted in an error of 16.6% with a measurement accuracy of 90.4%. The MQ135 Sensor error is quite large because the standard measuring instrument used as a comparison measures changes in ppm levels very quickly. The actuator test results show that the buzzer can provide notification when the LM35 Sensor exceeds the set point of 57 ℃ and the MQ135 Sensor reaches 101 ppm. The relay is active when both sensors have reached the set point, and the pump will turn on to extinguish the fire. The results of testing the entire system show that the sensor works well in detecting temperature and smoke level changes so that the actuator will turn on when the temperature and smoke levels have reached the set point. The SIM900 module will send an SMS to the user if a fire is indicated. The interface of this system displays the temperature measurement levels and smoke levels in real time on the website.

Abstract

The External Controller Solutions (ECS) is designed with the flexibility and able to be integrated with various plants. The ECS has been built using PLC and HMI.  Several tests have been carried out in developing this ECS, including testing Digital Input/Output (DI/DO) and Analog Input/Output (AI/AO) voltages. This ECS be able to control up-to 8 devices simultaneously with the data refresh time interval of 100 ms and be able to handle up-to 10,000 operating cycles within 24 hours without significant performance degradation. ECS performance is very good, proven by the results showing that the system runs well within 20-35 °C of temperatures range and 20%-80% of humidity. To show the advantage of ECS, it has already been integrated on the Water Level Simulator (WLS) plant and successfully controlled the flow through the VSD at 54 RPM/Hz in range of 15-30 Hz.

Abstract

Service for the public is one of the tasks that the government must carry out. The government as a public servant must be able to provide services from all community needs in all matters such as licensing, population (Identity Card, Family Card, Birth Certificate) and so on. Surabaya City is one of the cities in East Java. Surabaya City has the task of handling regional autonomy affairs. The tasks carried out must be structurally and morally accountable to the community. In the service activities provided, there are still many complaints from the people of Surabaya City. Therefore, research was conducted on Surabaya City community satisfaction by directly surveying public services in order to increase Surabaya City community satisfaction. This research will be analysed using the customer satisfaction index and importance performance analysis methods so that it can be concluded that the people of Surabaya City are not satisfied with the public services provided.
