Abstract

Elementary schools need personnel (school principals, teachers, administrative staff, security guards, and librarians), facilities (textbooks, teacher manuals, library books, teaching aids, office supplies, and furniture), infrastructure (land, buildings, libraries, and sports fields), and costs (school operational costs, building procurement costs, educational equipment costs, and book procurement costs). This study aims to determine: (1) Planning, procurement, utilization, maintenance, and elimination of educational facilities in Setia District Elementary Schools. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentary studies. The results show the importance of educational facility and infrastructure management as support for learning activities. Detailed planning is required for the procurement of facilities and infrastructure that are in line with needs and field conditions. Educational facilities and infrastructure should be utilized effectively and efficiently to support the education process. Maintenance of facilities and infrastructure should also be done regularly to keep them in good condition. Damaged items should be reported to be replaced promptly with new ones.

Abstract

The Continuous Professional Development (PKB) Program for teachers is a systematic process of activities that teachers undertake to examine, assess, or reflect on their teaching practices after conducting teaching and learning activities to improve their professional competence. The purpose of this study is to determine the management, implementation, and obstacles of the Continuous Professional Development (PKB) Program through Teacher Working Groups (KKG) in Public Elementary Schools in Babahrot District. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with descriptive research. The research subjects are 15 classroom teachers, consisting of 7 classroom teachers who are members of the Teacher Working Group (KKG) at the elementary school level in Babahrot District, Southwest Aceh Regency, 7 school principals, and 1 school supervisor. Data collection techniques used by the researcher are observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that 1) The management of the Continuous Professional Development (PKB) Program through Teacher Working Groups (KKG) in Public Elementary Schools in Babahrot District has not been fully implemented. The planning and organization indicators are good, but the program accountability, which includes KKG activity reports, does not meet the criteria. The evaluation and follow-up indicators have been implemented well. 2) The implementation of the Continuous Professional Development (PKB) Program through Teacher Working Groups (KKG) in Public Elementary Schools in Babahrot District has not been fully optimal. The limited facilities and infrastructure, internet access, and skills in using technology hinder teacher participation in KKG activities. 3) The obstacles in implementing the PKB Program in Public Elementary Schools in Babahrot District are coordinating KKG schedules, limited funding or resources, difficulties in implementing KKG learning into the classroom, and limited internet access or technology skills.

Abstract

This study examines the role of academic supervision by supervisors in improving the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in Setia District, Southwest Aceh Regency. The research focuses on four key aspects: planning, implementation, follow-up, and challenges faced during the academic supervision process. The study employed a qualitative approach, collecting data through interviews, observations, and documentation. Techniques for ensuring data validity included persistent observation and triangulation. The subjects consisted of two supervisors, two principals, and four teachers from two elementary schools in the district. The key findings were: (1) Academic supervision planning by supervisors to enhance teachers' pedagogical competence was conducted at the beginning of the academic year, involving supervisors, principals, and teachers. The planning stage began with developing an academic supervision semester program through meetings with the teacher council, which was then conveyed directly by the principal. (2) In implementing academic supervision, supervisors strongly emphasized the importance of teachers' mastery of the subject matter. Therefore, supervisors paid close attention to teachers' efforts to improve their performance in carrying out their duties to achieve the goal of improving pedagogical competence. (3) Follow-up activities were part of the supervision conducted by the principals. Thus, supervisors needed tools to objectively assess and record teachers' strengths and weaknesses, which could subsequently guide individual and group coaching efforts. (4) Challenges faced included limited supervision time allocated by supervisors, lack of senior or peer teachers with the required knowledge and abilities to serve as supervisors, uneven competence levels among supervisors, and perceived subjectivity from principals.

Abstract

This research explores the Interaction of Disasters and the Agricultural Sector on Food Security utilizing the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) approach. Food security is crucial for human survival and well-being, making it a priority in any country. Indonesia has been one of the countries prone to disasters over the past decade, impacting the prevalence of food insecurity. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of disasters on food security mediated by the agricultural sector. Sample selection involved a saturated sampling technique comprising 23 regencies/cities in the Province of Aceh. Data analysis in this research utilized SEM-PLS. The findings indicate that disasters do not influence food security, but they do affect the agricultural sector. Conversely, the research results demonstrate that the agricultural sector does not influence food security. Another significant finding in this study is that the agricultural sector does not significantly mediate the impact of disasters on food security.

Abstract

Spatial planning is arranged in a tiered hierarchy with spatial planning and regulation arranged through different levels, starting from the national level to the regional level. Each level has its own role and authority in preparing spatial plans which must be in harmony with the level above it. This hierarchy ensures that every spatial plan at the lower level must refer to and be in harmony with the spatial plan at the upper level, so as to create harmony and integration in the planning and use of space throughout Indonesia. The basic problems and conflicts in space utilization are the existence of significant challenges due to overlapping policies, regulations and geospatial information. The research is in Tebing Tinggi City, where in 2023 the Tebing Tinggi City Government and the North Sumatra Provincial Government will have revised the RTRW, so that a spatial study of the synchronization of the Provincial RTRW and City RTRW is needed. This research aims to provide an overview of the evaluation of the discrepancies in the revised spatial pattern plan of Tebing Tinggi City with the Revised RTRW of North Sumatra Province and to provide steps to resolve the discrepancies that occur which are useful as material for discussion and evaluation of the Revised RTRW of Tebing Tinggi City at the North Sumatra Province level. The research method uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with spatial exploration. Spatial analysis uses the ArcGIS 10.8 application to overlay which produces a comparison scheme. The matching scheme is then grouped into categories and typologies of "No Problem" and "Indication of Problem" suitability. Then the typology of conformity in "Problem Indications" becomes a priority follow-up to synchronize spatial pattern plans on non-conformity contents. The research results show that there are 3 (three) discrepancies in the typology of "Problem Indications", namely discrepancies in regional boundaries, discrepancies in protected rice fields (LSD), and inconsistencies in defense and security areas with a total area of 51.17 hectares (1.30%). The follow-up to resolving discrepancies as a synchronization effort is in the form of improvements to the Tebing Tinggi City RTRW Revision document in accordance with the latest regulatory data which has also been adopted by the North Sumatra Province RTRW Revision.
