Pillar of Physics Education : Jurnal Berkala Ilmiah Pendidikan Fisika
Pillar of Physics Education: International Journal on Physics Education is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal, published by Universitas Negeri Padang, which is dedicated to intercharge for the results of high-quality in all aspect of physics education. The editors welcome submissions of papers describing recent theoretical and experimental research related to: (1) learning outcome of physics, (2) Learning materials of physics, (3) Learning and teaching theories and models of physics, (4) Learning and teaching strategies and methods of physics, (5) Learning assessment and evaluation of physics, (6) The use of ict and media in learning of physics, (7) Learning management of physics, (8) Research and development in learning of physics, (9) Experimental methods in learning of physics, (10) Action research of learning of physics. The Pillar of Physics Education follows the open access policy that allows the published articles freely available online without any subscription. Submitted papers must written in English for initial review stage by editors and further review process by minimum two international reviewers.

<![CDATA[Integrated science teaching should be implemented well in Junior High School. In addition, school literacy movement needs to be developed to improve literacy of students. But the real conditions show that the integration of science teaching material and literacy of students were still low. The solution of this problem was to use the integrated science student worksheet by integrating digital age literacy in adaptive contextual teaching model. The purpose of the research was to investigate the influence of integrated science student worksheet by integrating the digital age literacy on motion theme in our live toward the competence of grade VIII students in SMPN 15 Padang. The type of research which conducted was quasi-experimental research. The research design was randomized control-group only design. The research population was all students of grade VIII SMPN 15 Padang which registered in academic year in 2017/2018. Sampling technique in this research was purposive sampling. The samples in this research were grade VIII 5 students as the experimental group and grade VIII 7 students as the control group with the total of samples were 64 students. The research instruments consist of observation sheet to assess attitudes, test result sheet to assess knowledge, and performance assessment sheet to assess skill of student. Research data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and comparison test. From the analysis of data can be stated that the use of Integrated science student worksheet by integrating the digital age literacy of motion theme in our life in adaptive contextual teaching model gives a significant effect on the knowledge, the attitude and the skills competences of grade VIII students in SMPN 15 Padang at 95% confidence level.]]>

<![CDATA[Integration of science teaching material in Junior High School is required in the 2013 curriculum. The integration of teaching material includes Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as sub disciplinary of science. Integration in science can improve competence of students. However, the real conditions which were found in school show that the integrated science teaching wasn’t suitable with the expected conditions. The solution of this problem was to apply the integrated science textbook on motion theme in adaptive contextual teaching model. The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of the application of integrated science textbook of motion theme in adaptive contextual teaching model toward the competences grade VIII students in SMPN 8 Padang. The type of research which conducted was quasi experiment research with one group pretest-posttest design. The research population was all students of grade VIII in SMPN 8 Padang that registered in 2017/2018 academic year. The samples in this research were grade VIII C which obtained by using the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument for knowledge competence was multiple-choice written test, attitude competency was observation sheet and skill competency was performance assessment test. Data analysis techniques in this research were descriptive statistics analysis, simple linear regression test, product moment correlation test, comparison test and determination coefficient. The result of this research shows that the application of integrated science textbook of motion theme in adaptive contextual teaching model has given significant effect on the three competences of grade VIII students including knowledge, attitude and skills at SMPN 8 Padang at 95% confidence level.]]>

<![CDATA[There are some things that cause low learning outcomes of students. Firstly, students are less involved in the learning process. Secondly, teachers are unable to accommodate all the needs of students. Thirdly, students are less interested in reading materials related to physics. The aims of this work is to determine the effect of the implementation of guided inquiry learning model using brochure on the results of physics learning class VIII on light material and optical devices. This research is a quasi-experimental design with randomized control group only design. The population was all 8th grade students in SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP, academic year 2016/2017. The purposive sampling with cluster random sampling technique was used. The reseaarch instruments used in this study are result of final test to measure knowledge aspect, and perfomance assesment sheet to measure skill aspect. Data are analyzed by testing the equality of two average. The equality testing are done to both of aspects, knowledge and skill. The result showed the average value of learner at both classes are 85.16 and 78.28 for knowledge aspect, 85.46 and 80.56 for skill aspect. By t test, for both aspects, we got that t>ttable, it means the alternative hypothesis is accepted. By the descriptive data, we got that there are a significant influence from the model implementation.. We conclude that the guided inquiry learning model using brochures has a significant effect on the results of physics studies on lightweight and optical devices in the SMP Development Laboratory UNP.]]>

<![CDATA[In general, achievement of Physics competence of students in high school is still low. Observations result at SMAN 14 Padang, the causes is the strategy used is not fully centered on the activities of students, and the teaching materials that used have not been able to improve the thinking ability of students. This study aims to determine the Effect of Using LKPD oriented Metacognitive Strategy on Physics achievement of Student’s Competence in X Grade of SMAN 14 Padang. Research carried out included in the type of quasi experimental research (Quasi Experimental Design) with the design of Posttest Only Control Group Design. The study population is all MIPA X grade of SMAN 14 Padang in academic year 2017/2018. Samples were taken using Cluster Random Sampling technique. The research instrument used is a test for knowledge competence, observation format for attitude and skill competence and completed with assessment rubric. Data on the three competencies were analyzed using t test at the real level of 0.05. Based on the result of data analysis, there were significant differences in both sample classes. The result of regression analysis shows that there is strong correlation between LKPD oriented metacognitive strategy to knowledge and skill competence. The result of product moment correlation analysis showed 55% value for knowledge competence and 33.54% for skill competence. So it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the use of LKPD oriented metacognitive strategies to the achievement of the competence of students in X grade of SMAN 14 Padang.]]>

<![CDATA[The motivation of learners can be enhanced through contextual and meaningful learning by integrating real problems that exist in the surrounding environment into teaching materials of learners, such as earthquake waves. The purpose of this research is to investigate the difference, influence and contribution of LKPD integrated material of earthquake wave to the competence of learners in CPS type simplex model on wave material in class XI SMA N 2 Padang. This type of research is quasi experiment with randomized control group design only design. The study population is all students of class XI MIPA SMA N 2 Padang. Sampling of research using technique of Purposive sampling. The research data is the data of students learning outcomes knowledge competence, attitudes and skills and the value of integrated LKPD earthquake waves. In order to know the difference of competence of the students, there are two equality test (t test), while to know the influence and contribution of LKPD to the competence of the learner, the regression and correlation test is done on the real level of 0,05 for all the competence.The results of the research through correlation test obtained the value of knowledge rs 0,78, attitude 0,62 and skill 0.73. LKPD's contribution to the knowledge aspect is very strong, with a contribution percentage of 60.49%. LKPD contribution to attitude aspect is strong, with contribution percentage equal to 38,73%. LKPD's contribution to skills aspect is strong, with a contribution percentage of 53.03%.]]>

Integrated science teaching is expected to improve three competencies of students including attitude, knowledge, and skill. However, the real conditions in school show that integrated science teaching and school literacy movement can’t implemented optimally. One solution that can be done is to use the integrated science student worksheet by integrating the skills literacy on motion theme in life. The purpose of this research was to investigate the influence of the use of Integrated science student worksheet by integrating the skills literacy of motion themes in life toward the competences of grade VIII students in SMPN 8 Padang. The type of research which conducted can be grouped into quasi experiment type with one group one group pretest-posttest design. Samples were obtained by using the purposive sampling technique. The research instruments consist of observation sheet for attitude competency, written test for knowledge competency and performance assessment for skill competency. Data analysis which used in this research consist of descriptive statistical analysis, simple linear regression analysis, significant relationship test and comparison test. Based on the result of data analysis can be stated that the use of integrated science student worksheet by integrating the skills literacy gives significant influence on the competence of knowledge and skill of grade VIII students respectively 38.44% and 35.05%. In addition, the use of integrated science student worksheet also gives a significant influence on the attitude of the grade VIII students in SMPN 8 Padang.]]>

<![CDATA[In 2st century education teaching shouls be four main principles. The main principles are teaching should be student-centered, collaborative, have context and integrated with society. The real condition in the school teaching has not done according to the demands of 21st century education, it needs an appropriate and effective model to solve the problem. A solution of this problem is to investigate the effect of adaptive contextual teaching model of motion in life theme to improve competence of grade VIII students in science subject. This research used quasi experiment method with randomized control-group only design. The population of this research was students of grade VIII SMPN 13 Padang registered in the academic year 2017/2018. Sampling technique which used in this research was purposive sampling. The research instruments which used were observation sheet for attitude competence, written test for knowledge competence, and performance assesment skill competence. Hypothesis test used comparison test. The results of this research is the implementation of adaptive contextual teaching model gives a significant effect on the science achievement of students science competence in attitude, knowledge and skill aspect.]]>

<![CDATA[In developing countries, a teacher must be active and creative role in improving the quality of education, one of them by increasing the motivation of students to learn. This study discusses the use of virtual media in learning physics laboratory on the momentum of the material and simple harmonic motion to the results of class X student of SMAN 2 Pariaman. The purpose of this study is to describe the process improvement and learning skills of students using tracker software on momentum materials and simple harmonic motion class X SMAN2 Pariaman. This type of research is (pre-experimental desing) which in this study there are external variables that influence the formation of the dependent variable. The subjects were students of class X SMAN2 Pariaman, totaling 30 people. The research was conducted in three cycles comprising the steps of (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) completion. Data collected there are 2, namely the non-test and test data. Non-test Data obtained from the observation and assessment rubrics, while the test data in the form of post-test given to students. Based on the results of research carried out can be concluded the following points. First, using media tracker software in the process of learning can increase student motivation in learning physics. It can be seen from the improvement of student learning outcomes while studying physics using tracker software. The second study using this software can be used by students in learning physics student records must try to try to use the software independently. This can be evidenced by the influence gained by 25.7% in the same direction, and significant for knowledge and competence 11.5% in the same direction for competency skills.]]>

Learners tend to be less courageous to ask questions and express their opinions on learning, thus causing the physics competence of learners to be lower than the minimum limit set by the school. The use of cooperative learning model is rarely. Also still limited teaching materials to help learners on learning. The functional of study to investigate the effect of applying the learner sheet in the model of cooperative learning type Think Talk Write completed with a time token to the physics competence of students of class X MIA SMAN 14 Padang. The type of research conducted is Quasi Experiment Research. Sampling is done by Purposive Sampling technique. Research instruments include knowledge competence test, attitude and skill competence observation sheet. From the data case study can be expressed the results of this investigation, there is a significant difference of competence between learners using the learner's Worksheet in the cooperative learning model of type talk talk write completed time token with learners who do not use, Furthermore the influence of student worksheet application in cooperative learning model type think talk write has a meaningful time token against the competence of students of class X MIA SMAN 14 Padang at the real level of 0.05.]]>

The type of this research was quasi experimental with randomized control-group only design. The population of this research was students of grade VIII in SMPN 8 Padang, while the samples of this research were taken by using purposive sampling technique. Experiment group in this research was grade VIII B students, while control group was grade VIII H students. The instruments of this research were observation assessment for attitude competence, written test for knowledge competence and performance appraisal for skills competence. The data which obtained were analyzed by descriptive statistics and two compare means test. The result of the analysis shows that the application of adaptive contextual learning model gives a significant effect on the attitude, knowledge and skill competency of the grade VIII students in SMPN 8 Padang at 95% confident level.]]>
